10 Afghans for Foxy Ladies

September 12, 2014 by AllFreeCrochetAfghanPatterns 1 Comment

In the 1970s, afghans were just as funky as everything else. Color and wild patterns were in! Understated was definitely not the look of the time. Afghans paired beautifully with the shaggy rugs and other decor of the time.

There seems to be a revival going on in the crochet world, from what I can tell. Vintage patterns from the 1970s are in demand! Everyone wants one of those retro afghans that looks just like Grandma’s. That means loads of granny squares, hexagons, and old-fashioned color combinations.

I’m sure you remember exactly what your mom or grandma’s favorite 1970s afghan looked like. Share your memories in the comments! In the meantime, we’ve paired afghans with the top 10 female names of the 1970s. Is your name on the list?

Heather’s Red Velvet Square pattern is coming up the same as Jennifer’s Watercolor Blanket. Is it possible to see the red velvet afghan please? Love red velvet, so this one sounds very intriguing!
