10 Last Minute Teacher Appreciation Crochet Gift Ideas

Before I had kids, I was a third grade teacher. I have to be honest; I looked forward to all the wonderful goodies that I would get during Teacher Appreciation Week. I poured my heart into teaching those kiddos, and I loved every second. It was so nice to have parents let you know that they cared and really did respect me for the energy I was putting in to giving their children the best year ever. If you’ve got a child in school, I encourage you to write them a nice note and give them a thoughtful gift.
What better way to do that than to give your child’s teacher a handmade gift? I know you might be thinking, It’s just around the corner. I don’t have time to make something. Thankfully, these free crochet patterns are quick and relatively easy – something you could definitely whip up in time to let teachers know that you’re thankful for what they do.
Here’s a collection of 10 last-minute gift ideas for teachers.

10 Last Minute Teacher Appreciation Gifts small
  1. 2 Hour Tote by Daisy Cottage Designs. This bag is perfect for all the things teachers need to tote to and from school on a daily basis. They’ll also get lots of use out of it during the summer months on their trips to the beach or farmer’s market.
  2. Splash of Spring Cowl by Moogly. So many areas of the country are still enjoying cooler weather. This light airy scarf would be perfect for those cool mornings when teachers are welcoming children to the classroom.
  3. Watermelon Drink Carrier by Wonky Wonderful. Who isn’t trying to drink more water? As teachers are guiding children on a field trip or supervising them on the playground, this would help keep their hands free while still allowing them to reach their daily intake goals.
  4. Coffee Cup Cozy by Design by Dalkaer. Is your daughter’s teacher a coffee or tea lover? This mug cozy would be a fantastic gift idea. The stitch sets it apart from many others I’ve seen.
  5. Fruit Coasters by Repeat Crafter Me. I know these are intended to be used for coasters, but as a teacher, I see them used a different way. Teachers are always trying to brighten up their classrooms and make it more enjoyable for the kiddos. I think these would make an adorable bunting for the teacher to hang above a bulletin board.
  6. Pencil Flowers by Annemarie’s Haakblog. Teachers are always letting students borrow pencils. Make her a bouquet of pencil flowers to help guarantee those pencils make their way back to her desk.
  7. Nesting Baskets from My Poppets. Maybe it was just me, but my desk always had paperclips, binder clips, and various teacher “paraphernalia” scattered on it. These baskets would have been perfect for organizing my stuff.
  8. Crochet Flower Necklace from Quinton Wench. Big chunky necklaces are so popular right now. Whip up one of these necklaces in the teacher’s favorite shades or the school colors.
  9. Reusable Face Scrubbies by Dabbles and Babbles. Most teachers don’t take enough time to pamper themselves. Make these crocheted face scrubbies to give along with some other spa essentials and let the teacher in your life know you think she needs to relax.
  10. Flower Paperclip Bookmarks by Petals to Picots. Many teachers are readers. Help them mark their pages in style with this crocheted bookmark.
Now pick your favorite, grab some yarn, and get to work making something to show your children’s teachers just how much you appreciate the work they put into making your child a successful student!
