12 days of Christmas Giveaways

On the fourth day of our 12 Days of Christmas Giveaway, my true love gave to me, a loop stitch stool from We Are Knitters.

Today’s Project: Loop Stitch Stool

Loop Stitch Stool

Materials:

  • 100% Peruvian Chunky wool
  • M Crochet Hook

Instructions:

1. Chain 6 with your WAK crochet hook.
2. Work one single crochet in the first chain you made and finish with another chain.
3. Start to crochet the rows of your cover using loop stitch in single crochet. You can know how following this video tutorial from the post of our blog at weareknitters.com:
Round 1: work 9 single crochets inside the ring that you have formed with the chain, finish the round with a slip stitch and one chain.
Round 2: work 2 loop stitches for each hole between the loop single crochet stitches in the previous round, i.e. increase in all stitches 2 stitches; this completes the round. Finish with a slip stitch and a chain.
Round 3: work one single crochet loop stitch and one increase, one single crochet loop stitch and one increase, in other words, work one single crochet loop in one hole and then in the next hole work 2 single crochet loop stitches in the same hole. Follow this sequence until finish the round with a slip stitch and a chain.
Round 4: work one single crochet loop stitch per hole and increase every 2 stitches. Follow this sequence until finish the round with a slip stitch and a chain.
Round 5: work one single crochet loop stitch per hole and increase every 3 stitches. Follow this sequence until finish the round with a slip stitch and a chain.
Round 6: work one single crochet loop stitch per hole and increase every 4 stitches. Follow this sequence until finish the round with a slip stitch and a chain.
Round 7: work one single crochet loop stitch per hole and increase every 5 stitches. Follow this sequence until finish the round with a slip stitch and a chain.
Round 8: work one single crochet loop stitch per hole and increase every 6 stitches. Follow this sequence until finish the round with a slip stitch and a chain.
Round 9: work one single crochet loop stitch per hole and increase every 7 stitches. Follow this sequence until finish the round with a slip stitch and a chain.
Round 10: work one single crochet loop stitch per hole and increase every 8 stitches. Follow this sequence until finish the round with a slip stitch and a chain.
Round 11: work one single crochet loop stitch per hole and increase every 9 stitches. Follow this sequence until finish the round with a slip stitch and a chain.
Row 12 and 13: single crochet per hole without increases or loops.
Row 14 and 15: make a triple increase for every 4 stitches. We mean, knit 3 stitches together for every 4 stitches.
Follow the same steps until you finish the row 15 and the cover with a slip stitch.

CUSTOMIZE!
Once you are done with your cover, customize it and have fun with it!

I live in Florida and it is never really cold, but….I wear scarves all year long. I love the look of this fashion statement. I just use weather appropriate yarn and vary the size and width to the season. I use my scarves in place of jewelry. Nothing brightens up a drab outfit like a pop of bright color that a beautiful hand crafted scarf provides. So every season is scarf season!

Living in the coastal south, the winter is the best time of year for the scarves to be broken out in my home. But when the AC is kickin’ it way too cold for my liking in the summer, I tend to have a couple of lighter scarves that I’ll wear at work to keep myself comfortable.

I’d have to say that I actually wear more scarves in the winter, but I like to wear scarves at any time of year. Back in the 80’s/early 90’s, dress scarves were almost a daily accessory with my suits.

Some folks consider San Francisco a cold city, but I’m one of those guys who’s always warm in a tee and jeans. I only wear scarves in winter, and even then very seldom. It’s a shame too, as I’ve made so many really nice ones that I’d like to wear.
