12 Sensational Shawls

March 30, 2015 by Celina Lane 6 Comments

Every year, I find something new to obsess about making. This year is no exception. After making my first shawl a couple of years ago, I was completely enamored and could not believe I had never made one before. Don’t be intimated by the shawl, as I first was. Enjoy the lovely curves, twists, and turns of this lovely art and embrace a new pattern. Afterward, wear your art to keep the chill off while you are walking along the beach in the early morning hours.

Here’s a collection of some of my very favorite free crochet shawl patterns.  These shawls are all light and lacy, perfect for the warmer months.  Not only are they quick crochet patterns to work up, they are also fabulous accessories for any outfit.

Every time I try & go to the web site for the friendship shawl, my computer will not let me because of a virus/unsafe problem. Is there a way to get this pattern w/o going to the web site – – – maybe a different web site has it? Please send the response to my email address listed above.
    Thanks

I’ve made several crocheted shawls. The only one I can think of right now was light and dark purple flowers with green background/connecting web. I made it up and have since forgotten how it was made. Mom loved it. I’ve done more in knitting.

I’ve made the Coraline in the Wine Country shawl twice. The first one was given to my daughter-in-law’s mother for her birthday in July. I passed on the picture of the many ways to wear it. The second shawl I made for my own mother for Christmas. She has been enjoying it, too, and wears it during the evenings for a little something extra. Love the pattern, works up fast. Love, love, love the yarn: Red Heart Boutique, Unforgettable. It really does give a subtle stripe to the garment.

I have made several shawls, each starting out to be for me and ending up as a present for someone else, which ironically end up being perfect for them. I cannot wait to make the Juliet shawl shown here.

The saffron shawl is no longer free. Site says it has been retired to paid. Purchase on Ravelry. Bummer, as my kids would say.
