Fall is quickly approaching, ushering in colorful leaves, harvest themes, and delicious soups, stews, and pies filling your home with their delicious aromas. I’m a huge fan of the fall season, being much more suited to sweater weather than the unbearable dog days of summer (Wouldn’t it be lovely if it were 75 and sunny all year round? A Chicago girl can dream, right?).
Warm sweaters to wrap up in, perfectly worn-in boots, apple picking, and hot beverages (any other cider fans out there?) are just a few reasons why I love this season. Plus, it’s crochet afghan weather! Beyond all of these lovely things, it’s also the time when I begin to add a few rustic touches to my home. Nothing bright and over-the-top, which I lean towards during the spring and summer months. Autumn calls for rustic, am I right?
What I’ve been looking for this fall season are a few pieces with a whole lot of understated charm. I’ve had my fill of statement pieces for the moment. Instead, I need something more muted to compliment what I already have going on as far as fall decor. Here are just a few crochet afghans I’ve had my eye on to create for autumn! Now to decide which one to make first!
