Happy Sunday, crocheters! This weekend I’ve spent every possible moment outside. Why, you might ask? Yesterday, for the first time since early October, Chicago hit 70 degree weather. That’s right SEVENTY! It was glorious (to say the least). After one of the worst winters in Chicago history, with 26 days recorded below freezing and an accumulation of 79 inches of snow (10 shy from the all-time record in Chicago history), it’s nice to know that winter is finally coming to an end. Canada and Minnesota, how on earth do you do this EVERY year? We salute you.
Gardening and flowers are all I can think about, as I see blossoms and small sprouts beginning to pop up from their winter’s sleep all around my house. My Mom and I spent most of our time yesterday enjoying the sunshine while cleaning out the flower beds. It was absolutely lovely.
Today, I was in the mood for some granny squares. I’m a sucker for granny afghans. I love the look they have, all the joining squares coming together to create a big, beautiful, cuddly blanket. Plus, the spring granny squares are even more appropriate because they remind me of a flower bed, with each flower blossoming next to the other. I’ve rounded up just a few of my favorites to share with you, check them out:
