31 Must-Have Baby Shower Gifts

April 4, 2014 by AllFreeCrochetAfghanPatterns 10 Comments

The spring season is full of change. Not only is the grass becoming greener, the flowers bursting from the ground, and the trees sprouting with leaves, but it’s also what I like to call milestone season. Graduation, baby shower, and wedding season all swing into high gear once spring comes along.

DIY Baby Shower Gifts

With quite a few of my cousins expecting babies in the next couple of months, my mind has been focused on baby shower gifts. To me, there is nothing better than a handmade baby shower gift. I can remember making a blanket for my little cousin, who carried it around with him for years until he out grew it. It always filled my heart with joy to see him racing around the house with the blanket I made him in tow.

So as the expecting mother’s belly grows like the spring flowers around her, let’s make something special for the new addition to their lives! From blankets to booties, there are so many options when it comes to finding the right gift.

If you have an expectant parent in your life, check out some of these must-have baby shower gifts!

I think must-have stories are a must have! They’re easy and fun to read and they bring in the viewers. I like that this is organized into categories instead of just all lumped into one list.

Crocheted afghans are always appreciated. I try to include washing instructions and make surd I use machine washable yarn. New moms do not have time to hand wash stuff.

I think the Colorful Caterpillar Toy needs to be removed from the list since Bernat has recalled all Tizzy yarn.

Stephanie ~~ This pattern can be made with yarn (or even thread) other than Tizzy yarn. I think it’s a cute pattern and would hate to see it removed just because the “recommended” yarn is no longer available.

I love all the patterns and the way you have them set up. Makes it so easy to find my next project I want to work on . One thing I haven’t been able to find is a Baby Dragon stuff animal to make. I have my fist grandchild on the way and my husband is call the baby Little Puff the dragon so I thought I should make one. I’m willing to pay for pattern if anyone knows where I could find it , have looked every where with no results.
    Thanks for the great Website.

Love your patterns but have a hard time choosing what to make for an up coming Grandchild. So many choices. Question.. I have a baby sweater and bonnet that my Grandmother made (she died in 1972). The sweater has been used and has a stain like a bleach spot on it. Would a person be able to dye it back to (Pink) I would love to hand it to my daughter for her child as she wore it as an infant. The yarn is a soft baby yarn from the late 60’s but other than that i can not say much about it.
