Knitting is both relaxing and productive, Everyone enjoys getting something homemade.
Knitting and crocheting help calm me and I have tangible skill and family n friends love my work. Makes me feel wonderful .
Knitting is something I have loved to do for many years, learned when I was 9 and then forgot how to cast on. So went to crocheting for years and then a friend taught me how to cast on again, haven’t stopped since. Since I am home all day it is a great way to pass the time and make something beautiful.
It is relaxing and helps with long winter months
I became disabled and read constantly to keep my mind off the pain in my back I wanted to feel productive and my Mom crocheted all the time She passed away in 1991 so as a,way to jeep my mind busy to feel closer to her and because I wanted yo feel like a useful productive human I taught myself to crochet I started with dish cloths and I’m making now my first Afghan but I made it to big so technically it’s a full sized blanket Live and learn but it’s thick yarn so my daughter should be warm Amazing giveaway Thank you for the chance
I have been crocheting for about 4 months now. I love to crochet because to see the daughters smile when I make them stuff and its all unique to them and plus its funny when they turn the bags or baskets I make into hats for themselves and I start a little make believe play out of that item.
I find knitting very relaxing and it keeps my hands busy while I am sitting.
It relaxes me and I feel a great sense of accomplishment when I complete a project.
I love to crochet because it gives me something to do in my spare time that feels rewarding, relaxing and fun. Its such a great way to drain away all the stresses from everyday life.
I love to crochet because it is relaxing, it gives me time to slow down, think and perhaps remember people who are no longer around. It gives me a sense of accomplishment (especially if it is a project of my own design). I look at afghans as a way to wrap loved ones in warm, loving hugs when I can’t be there to do it in person.
I love to knit, it is very calming and I am able to creat things for my family and friends! I love giving homemade gifts
I love to crochet, but the last two years I have come to enjoy the challenge of knitting. I love the feel of the fibers of the yarns and the finished projects always make me smile. There is something very special about creating something from nothing.
Knitting is a way to relax in the afternoons and relieve my stress. It is also very satisfying to create something that will make someone happy. I knit a lot of prayer shawls for my church group and also hats and scarfs for the homeless.

I love to crochet and knit not just because of all the things i can make but because it helps me to relax. Crocheting and knotting is my form of meditation.
It is relaxing and makes neat items.
Crocheting makes me feel closer to my mom and grandma who taught me how to crochet. I still go to my mom’s and share patterns and yarns with her. We spend at least one day a month at the craft store or yarn mart looking and buying new yarn even if we don’t know exactly what we are going to do with it. After all, it is yarn!
I love to knit to make things to give to my friends and family. I basically taught myself and it is satisfying to learn new techniques.
I love to knit because I love the feel and look of knitting and I enjoy making gifts for family and friends. I love the texture that can be achieved with just two stitches, knit and purl.
I love being able to take something simple, like a strand of yarn, and turn it into something awesome!
My mother taught me how to knit and crochet and doing it makes me feel close to her (even though I’m nowhere near as good at it as she was!)
I learned to knit two and a half years ago. It has helped me to cope with having to retire too early from my job as a nurse. It helps me with my depression as well. I also enjoy making things for people and or charities. Thank you.
I love to knit because it is an outlet for me to be creative and stress relief. It is also a way to connect with past generations of my family that were knitters. I feel it is so important to keep passing the love of knitting on to the next generation!
I find Crocheting and Knittting is good excercise for arthritic hands and gives a feeling of accomplishment.
I love to knit and crochet – because I get such a feeling of satisfaction in using a skill that results in something beautiful and, more importantly, useful!

I enjoy both knitting and crocheting. Very relaxing and I can sit and still feel I am doing something.
Knitting and crocheting calm me and keep my hands from putting snacks into my mouth
I love to create handmade gifts for people. Once I learned to knit, I started making scarves, hats, and lots of baby items. It gives me a fun creative outlet. I also joined a knitting group that meets weekly. I love getting together with these wonderful ladies and enjoying the “me” time. Knitting is relaxing and fun and I couldn’t imagine not picking up my needles at least once a day.
It’s helps the arthritis in my hands. Love making wearable art.
My grandma taught me to crochet when I was very young. I now crochet afghans to donate. It helps me keep her legacy alive.

Really calming…And creative outlet.
Not only do I find both knitting and crocheting soothing and calming, but also productive.
I enjoy making items to keep my family and friends warm and cozy.
I love to knit to keep my hands busy and my mind learning new things! I also enjoy trying new projects for the challenge! 🙂
I love to knit and crochet, not only because it is relaxing, but because it affords me a time when I think of my family from my grandmother to my grandchildren. I think of my grandmother who taught me to knit and my mother who taught me to crochet and that time together. I think of each of the projects and the occasions I made my children and grandchildren from the time they were babies to present. And now gratefully, I think of when I taught my younger granddaughter to knit just like my grandmother did. Of course it also affords me the same experience remembering the relationships I had with friends as a made a special piece for each.
when you are done with a project and you gift it to someone it’s rewarding to see the smile on the face.
Knitting helps me be calm, each stitch is like a meditation.
I love to knit and crochet. I prefer crochet, to me it is faster and the stitches are easier. I love to make things to give my family and friends. A few times I have made things and didn’t know what to do with them so I donated them to charities ( such as hats and mittens). When I am crocheting, my life seems less stressed.
I love the ability to create something useful or meaningful. It’s my art form, my creative outlet. ❤️
I love to both knit and crochet – I think I was born with the love of fiber, thread, and fabric. It relaxes me, and I love being able to share the results of what I can create.
Knitting is relaxing.. whether you are with friends or curled up on the couch. I love that it can something for everyone
I just started knitting so I’m still trying to figure out the simple stitches. So when I finish a project there’s that sense of accomplishment. And I’m learning it’s very relaxing.
I knit because I love the feeling when a project is completed and being able to give that project to a loved one!
It is relaxing to me. It will also help me be constructive as well as kill time as I begin my first round of chemotherapy this week.
It’s my superpower! I love the looks on people’s faces when I randomly gift hats I am working on
I knit because i love when people say where did u buy that.
I love to do both knitting and crocheting. When I do knitting it lets me learn something new. I have crocheted for a long time but I just started knitting about a year or so. Doing both of them is very relaxing and soothing.
I love to knit because it is an activity I have learned from many family members – my great-grandmother, one grandmother, and my mom were all knitters. They each taught me different skills. When I knit, my arthritic hands are soothed and I feel as serene as I do after yoga, so it is yoga for my hands! Also, nearly all of my projects are for loved ones, and I think of them as I knit, and I enjoy remembering them and anticipating the pleasure they will get when wearing my creation for them.
Why do I love to crochet? I moved to a very small town almost 10 years ago and I felt I needed something to keep me busy last year a friend of my posted a picture of a crochet headband she had made and I thought hey I can do that maybe. So I drove to walmart 45 minutes away and found my love for crochet it is calming, relaxing and rewarding. Tgats why I love crochet.
I love to knit because it keeps my hands busy and out of the cookie jar The added benefit is something to sell at the Humane society resale shop
I suffer from anxiety, depression, and chronic pain at only 32 years old. Knitting helps me to not “think” and making beautiful things makes me feel good about myself.
Knitting and crocheting is the best therapy I have found. Gives me peace and also helps me to relax.
How do you spell fun!?! One day in a Woolworth’s store in Sacramento on military leave and visiting family. I was bored so I happened to be in the yarn aisle and saw how-to-do book by Coats & Clarke. Looked at the crochet section and decided to try it out. Brought my first hook and skein of yarn and never looked back. I kept trying, ripping out stitches and try again. Now I make sweaters, afghans, hats, baby girl dresses, etc. So much joy from a hook and a piece of string….
I can’t stand to sit and do nothing so I always have something to knit on the go. I love to knit lace. I have crocheted in the past and have been thinking it’s time to pick that up again.
I love to give unique, creative gifts. Besides that, it’s amazingly relaxing.
It truly is my therapy, it keeps me centered and calm.
Knitting its my meditation and medication,
I love to create and give things to people. Knitting is also a stress relief for me and a way to keep my hands busy while relaxing.
I love crocheting because it relaxes me. I am a mom of 2, wife of a wonderful workaholic, I work full time as a preschool teacher and I am in school finishing my masters. I love crocheting because I can put everything aside for half hour sit on the couch and crochet. At the end of half hour I am more relaxed and ready to face what my house or life has to offer to me. After a short crocheting session I am better able to handle my kids, husband, and school work. Crocheting makes a big difference in my life.
I love to crochet and knit for me and my family to keep us warm and snuggly all year long my cat enjoys the beds and toys I’ve made him aswell plus without even wanting to I found myself making money as people wanted me to make things for them quite an enjoyable hobby
I taught myself to knit after my sister had started to learn but gave up. I used her instruction book and the knitting needles and yarn. I learned to crochet from my grandmother who made lots of ripple afghans and gave them to family members, including baby afghans for her great-grandchildren. Her love for crocheting was passed to me, and I hope to pass this love along.
Working as an art teacher I love creative exploration that is also relaxing. I am continually learning new stitches & combining old stitches in new ways!
I am knitting Cowls for Christmas presents .. Just finished a blanket for my brand new Grandaughter…
I have to crochet EVERYDAY! It is soothing, also the older I get, I crochet to keep my mind active. Great to keep arthritic hands going. Plus, it is just fun.
I need a creative outlet plus knitting is portable !
i love to see the faces of my friends and family when I give them what I made for them
I know exactly what i would do with this.
I love to crochet and knit, it’s a pleasurable way to spend my free time, it’s tactile and visual, keeps my brain sharp and I end up with something beautiful!
I love to knit because it makes me feel creative and talented.
I love knitting because it provides me with something nothing else can. Just getting asked, “did you make that?” and answering yes and seeing that look on someone’s face. It’s also the appreciation when you can handmake someone a gift that you know they can use.
I knit and crochet as a way to unwind and relax. For me, it’s a way to escape the constant go, go, go of the world around me. It’s nice to have something to sit down and take my time with. At the end you get an amazing gift to give someone that means so much more then anything you can buy in the store. Or you have something special for yourself. I love the feeling of all the different yarns, from silk to wool.,
Knitting and crocheting put me in a state of total tranquility. My brother used to refer to it as my form of ‘meditation’. They were also hobbies, along with cross stitch, that I shared with my Mother. Neither of us were ever in front of the TV without some ‘work in progress’ in our hands! It was a bond we shared, and it keeps me feeling close to her since she has been gone.
relaxing and creative
Unable to work after working all my life I felt idle. Rekindling my love
for knitting has made sure I’m always busy..and happy!!
It’s exciting to create something exciting!
I learned to crochet from my grandmother when I was 8 years old. That was over 30 years ago. As I grew up we would talk and share while working on our projects. Two years ago she passed away. The last visit I had with her she asked what I was working in and if I’d learned to knit yet (she knitted beautifully). I told her I hadn’t but I promises her I would learn……and I have.
I love to knit and crochet because I feel closer to Grandma when I do. And those fortunate to receive the gifts I make will have a little bit if my grandmother in their hearts too.
I love to do both. It feels so good to be creative and to make beautiful things. It brings me back to a time when my Mom was here and taught me! It also is a very good stress reliever for me!
I love the fact that I can create something out of string(yarn) and a stick(hook)! It’s almost magical when I finally finish and can gift the creation to some one. I rarely keep the things that I make; when people comment on the item, it’s theirs!
I work at a computer every day and knitting/crocheting gives me a chance to use my hands for relaxation. And creating something with my hands also gives me pleasure.
I love to knit all year long. My family and friends enjoy the gifts I give them from a beautiful blanket to sweaters and socks. It is an enjoyable to do in the evenings while my husband and I are watching tv.
It’s fun, relaxing, challenging, satisfying when completed and makes great gifts and cool stuff to wear and use!
I love the process. I love yarn and feeling the rhythm of knitting. The FO is just a perk.
I crochet! It relaxes me and I am always working on a project so it goes with me wherever I go just incase I have to wait for an appointment or in a restaurant. My husband even asks me if I have my bag every time we leave the house!
Knitting makes me feel creative!
Have been knitting for over 50 years and love the idea of creating a unique gifts for family and friends. Taught myself to crochet just this past year and enjoying the challenge.
I love the peace of yarn work. It allows you to become centered and escape whatever anxiety is bothering you that day.
I enjoy knitting because I am creating something useful. I knit scarves for a clinic here in town to give to their underserved or homeless clients. I also appreciate the potential health benefits that are being recognized. I can use anything that might help with my memory as I get older!!
The satisfaction of knowing I made something and that someone (that I love, usually) will enjoy using it. I think about the family member or friend I am making it for and I like to think I put love in each stitch. I enjoy knitting and crocheting they relax me and keep me going.
Like to surprise family members and friends with unique and personal gifts.
I love to crochet because it relaxes me. Ever since I had my multiple miscarriages, crochet helps me relax and concentrate on something else.
I can’t just sit and do nothing, I have to keep my brain and my hands busy. Otherwise it’s just wasted time.
I love to knit, as it lets me be creative and it relaxes me.
I knit for my enjoyment, I also knit while working continuous care cases for the Hospice company that I work for. Adds a peaceful feeling while giving a dying patient dignity and comfort.

It helps me relax, avoid snacking, and I get to make something pretty!
I work at a computer 10 + hours per day with a round trip commute of a little over three hours. Knitting and crocheting help me unwind from all of the stress besides producing a useful product for myself, family or charity.
Knitting keeps me from unraveling. Recently retired to be with my husband as he was diagnosed with a terminal illness. Enjoy making items both knit and crochet for our craft group who invites needy people to shop for free at Christmas.
I love to knit because 1) it keeps my hands occupied and 2) to create interesting projects that I love to give away or donate to charitable causes, making someelse’s day a little brighter.
I enjoy crocheting because I have an artistic nature, and crocheting permits me to uncover my creative needs – somewhat like making a painting, only with yarn!
Like many other comments, I too love to knit. I find it relaxing and calming. I can do it in front of the TV, in a car, or just in a quiet room with soft music. I like the process of knitting and the feeling of accomplishment when I finish a project. I keep the finished projects for myself as well as giving them away to friends and relatives. It’s also great when you are out in public and a stranger comments on the piece you’ve made and they are impressed when you say that you knitted the item. Red Heart is good quality yarn and one of my go to yarns for any project.
I find knitting & crocheting so relaxing and very satisfying, And I love creating hats, afghans, sweaters, scarves and other things as gifts for my family and friends.
I love to knit and crochet items for various charities. I make blankets for all my foster dogs and several other doggie rescue groups I work with and scarves for veterans and mittens for our local homeless shelter. It gives me a sense of accomplishment that I can take a simple strand of yarn and make something to keep another person or animal feel warm and safe.
It’s relaxing, and I get nice hats out of it. : )
I love to knit and crochet because it relaxes me and it helps keep me from snacking so much!
I love being able to make things for my family and friends, and donating to charities for people in need. Also, the process of crocheting an item is very satisfying and there’s always something new to learn.
I love to knit because I can create something while still finding it relaxing! I’ve only been knitting for a few months, and have already gotten addicted!
I love knitting because it is very relaxing for me and then I try to pick a pattern with a challenge so I can get deeply engrossed in the project and then when it is finished there is no explaining the sense of accomplishment I feel. The satisfaction is well worth the effort. Knitting is a real confidence builder in a very peaceful way too.
I love to knit for so many reasons…feeling peaceful as I knit, helpful when I give it away, grateful that I can and so many other reasons.

I love to knit and crochet to create things for others.
I knit to relax after a long day at school. Teaching sixth graders can be a little hectic! I also run a knitting club at school. We must foster the next generation of knitters!
The thrill of making something. My knitted mouse has gone through four children, also my crocheted turtle. Both over thirty years old!
I love to knit (do a little crochet, better at knitting) because I find it relaxing and I love to see smiles on the faces of the people I knit for.
My mother taught me to knit and crochet as a young child. I enjoy crocheting more than knitting and do it to relax after a long day at work. I get extreme pleasure out of making gifts for family and friends and rarely make anything for myself.
I love to crochet because it provides me with an outlet for creating something unique for others.
I like knitting and crocheting, because it allows me to be creative and practical at the same time. I get to make pieces of art people wear or cuddle under. Also, I can’t sit still.

It’s relaxing and I love the feeling of accomplishment from making something yourself.
I knit to help me relax and feel accomplished
A great stress reliever, keeps my hands busy, and allows me to be creatively productive!
My mother used to knit, and would crochet lace or finish edges on her knitting. I would always watch her. She would knit and sew every day. She began teaching me as soon as I could hold the needles/hook. I knitted for years, then picked crochet up again as an adult. It always relaxes me, gives me a surge of creative feelings, and makes me remember my mother. The thrill I get when I finish a project is so rewarding.
Knitting is a relaxing way to get the sweaters that I can’t find in stores, because they are in my mind.
I can create while sitting and waiting, knitting and crochet.
I love knitting and crochet because they provide an outlet for my limited artistic abilities, keep my hands busy and allow me to make heartfelt gifts for friends and family.
I love knitting it is relaxing and productive, I make gifts for my family which creates memories
It is sooo relaxing to knit. In college I always joked about having a finals sweater. Now that I have a house full of kids what I like most about knitting is that I can do it while doing other things like helping my kids with their homework or watching them at the park. It’s nice to have something that doesn’t distract from my children, turns out something special and makes me feel calm all at the same time.
I started knitting as a way to keep calm when I had 3 small children and it was tax season (my husband is a CPA) and have never stopped.
I love seeing the eyes sparkle and the smiles as I gift a new parent with a blanket designed just for their baby. I enjoy watching my grandchildren run and play in the snow with the hats and mittens I made to keep them warm. Crochet reduces stress and gives me hours of unending joy as my project takes form, from a massive amount of string into something useful and beautiful. When I complete my crochet project, I feel a solid sense of accomplishment I carry with me throughout the day.
I love to crochet baby hats and knit baby booties while we travel. I give them away to new parents.
I never tire of the amazing transformation that takes what is basically a single string and turns it into a complete item.
I love to knit and crochet. These crafting techniques are relaxing to me and it is a great way to keep my mind sharp. Knitting and crocheting are my therapy.
I love being able to make personalized gifts for friends and family

Knitting and crochet help me to unwind and at the same time make things for the people I love.
I knit because I can turn something into nothing. I can focus on something I can control rather than the things I can’t.
I love to do all forms of needlework and find that they help me to relax. I was always comfortable with crochet but have only been knitting for the last two or three years. My latest knitting project is making socks on five needles. The jury is still out on this technique though.
I do kneedle crafts (all sorts) because it is an activity that is relaxing, creative, social, productive, and joyful.

It’s my escape. When I’m knitting, I don’t think about anything else. )
I love the zen of it, coupled with the endless creativity.
Im new to knitting and crocheting and Im just loving it . Thanks to all the websites for all of your instructions . I will be a pro soon.hooray……
I learned at a young age to both knit and crochet. I picked it back up when my girls were older and I took projects to practices and games. Now my girls are making requests, friends having grand kids, and I love to do homemade gifts. So my project list is long
I love the feeling of making something that someone can use. Recently tried to learn how to crochet, but was not successful. Sticking to my knitting until I try crocheting again.
I love to crochet and knit but prefer crochet. Both are a form of expressionism to me and I can design in any color though it. I’m also able to create gifts from my heart for friends and family that are not found in department stores.
I love knitting, first of all for the great sense of satisfaction I derive from looking at my finished item. I love knitting to be able to give a gift to someone that I created with my very own hands. I love the sensation of knitting, for when you knit a garment, for example, you are not just knitting the fabric, you are sculpting the item at the same time. Most of all I love knitting for the meditative, mindful, in-the-moment focus that it gives me. It is an act I can do to bring joy to myself and the recipient at the same time.
My mom taught me how to knit mittens (on 4 needles) when I was five yrs. old. When I was seven my aunt taught me to crochet. Since then I’ve had five children and nine grandchildren. Each one has received at least one afghan and numerous other items.I find it comforting to know that the items I’ve made will not fall apart after the first washing. My son still has his first afghan that I made when he was eight yrs old (He is now 43) I love knowing that when I pass on to that yarn store in the heavens, that my loved ones will always have a little piece of me to hold on to. I love to be creative and the use of different colors to make an item unique and one of a kind.
I like to knit and crochet. I am left handed but taught myself to knit and crochet right handed. It is relaxing and I like having something I made to give as gifts.
Although both knitting and crocheting are calming, relaxing, and creative I can only do them for short periods of time because of nerve damage in my elbow and hand. But it does help keep my fingers working.
I knit and crochet mostly for charity and find it very gratifying, as my items have become requested.
I love to crochet because it is so relaxing for me. My great grandmother and my aunt taught me how when I was very young. I always feel a connection to them when I am crocheting. I also love making gifts for loved ones.

Its my way of being creative.
I knit because I don’t know how to crochet!
Love to knit gifts for other people and see the joy on there faces when they see it.
I love to crochet because I get to make exactly what I want in size and color for myself, my family, and my friends. I would like to be able to crochet for charity as well and I think I will start this year, nothing like a sense of achievement and a kind smile of thank you from those you have helped.
I enjoy crocheting because it is relaxing and calming for me. I am disabled with mobility issues, so crocheting has become my “security blanket”. Since I am unable to be in the “workforce” anymore, crocheting has allowed me to be productive. Just about everything I crochet, I give to family or friends.
I Love to crochet because I find it relaxing after a stressful day. It also gives me great pleasure to giveaway a finished project or help some one else finish their project. I am trying to teach my grandchildren to love crocheting as much as I do! They are just starting….
Now that I am retired and I have a lot more time to crochet. I do a lot of it while my husband watches lots of sports on TV. It is relaxing and feel like I am accomplishing something that I an give to others.
To see the look of happron the receiver’s face.
I enjoy both knitting and crocheting very much. It is relaxing and stress relieving for me. It is gratifying to see the finished product and when gifting the recipient knows how much time and care went into the project. My best friend had breast cancer and I crocheted her a prayer shawl. She told me it was so comforting and warm to wear after her chemo sessions. It meant so much to her knowing my prayers for her recovery were woven into it.
Knitting is very relaxing, keeps my hands busy and allows me to create gifts for family and friends.
I love all the different yarns & the infinite possibilities. I like to learn new things & see what I’ve made! Giving them away is like a never-ending hug.
I love the challenge of learning new techniques!
Red heart yarn is fabulous
I first learned to knit because I had a lot of time just waiting at basketball practices, etc. I love it now because I enjoy creating things that people truly appreciate and actually use. It’s so rewarding to see a baby wrapped in a blanket that I knit or to see my daughter showing off the infinity scarf that I designed and knit for her.
I crochet because I enjoy the time to myself. Whether I get to for five minutes or five hours, I can relax and enjoy the me time.
There are almost too many reasons to list but I love the creativity, the individuality of the gifts I make, it helps so much with my chronic pain, it never bores me because there is always something new to learn. It has also given me great purpose in life as I founded a non-profit for children who live in poverty that provides hats, mittens scarves and another items to MN, ND and SD. We have given away over 32,000 items so far. Not bad for just a few women working since 2008. The smiles of the children who wear them and the tears in the eyes of the parents who appreciate them make it all worth while.
Crocheting ties me to my gram, who taught me when I was 7 yrs old. She also taught me to knit, needlepoint, and helped me sew my wedding dress!
Knitting keeps me centered!
I love knitting cause it’s a good stress reliever.. I have a lot going on these days and turn to my knitting to get the stress out.. and making special things for special people!!!

I love to knit because I enjoy keeping up with something my mother taught me many years ago. I enjoy the finished product and now I have a granddaughter I can make things for!
I knit for many reasons, most of which everyone has already said, creative, sense of accomplishment, relaxing, making gifts for others. I taught my daughter-in-law to knit and we both take our projects to baseball and basketball games my grandsons play. It keeps us from getting too vocal when we are watching a difficult or exciting game. I also am teaching my granddaughter to knit, it is something we can share. But when my husband complains of how much time I spend knitting and having to take it everywhere with me, I just tell him I am staving off Alzheimer’s!
I love to knit and crochet because i find they are very relaxing.
That is an adorable pattern. Love the bright colors.
I like to knit and crochet so I can give it away. Knitting and crocheting keeps me sane. It relaxes me and keeps my hands busy so that I don’t snack on everything and anything in the fridge. To create an object for another to make them smile or make a person’s day better is so satisfying to me. I imagine in my mind the person receiving the item as a gift or donation. It gives me purpose in this life.

Knitting is my obsession. Knitting has a calming effect on me. Feeling the texture of the yarn move through my fingers and the steady clicking of my needles as my project grows is like meditation. No matter what is happening in my life, knitting keeps me centered and grounded.
I love knitting & crochet because they both give me the ability to create things for others. I love making afghans for the local Veterans hospital, baby hats for the local hospital, chemo caps for my cancer center, and scarves for 4 homeless shelters. (I don’t usually keep anything I knit/crochet – therefore being able to do my favorite craft (knit/crochet) AND give them away makes me happy.
I love crochet because I love the creativeness of it. To know you can take yarn and create a multitude of useful items, for myself, loved ones and friends. When I first started crocheting I mostly stuck with afghans but lately I’ve ventured off in other directions using yarns I’m not familiar with and making other items besides afghans.
I rise early every morning just so I can knit before going to work…it sets the tone for my day…relaxed and focused.

I love to see what I can accomplish using a piece of yarn and a couple tools. It fascinates me to start a project with a couple cast on stitches and in a couple days be wearing it as if I bought it from the store. Some a calming craft.
I like to knit at the coffee shop in town with my wife (she does crochet), and we’ll while away hours chatting and working yarn!
As a Psychotherapist I have to free my mind of other people’s life challenges, so I knit between clients. This helps me to be better prepared for the next one.
relaxing and fun
I love to crochet and knit for a few reasons! One reason is because my grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was young. She passed away right before I started high school, and when I crochet, it brings back all of the good memories I had of and with her.
I love to knit because my husband taught me after he picked it up! And I love to crochet while my husband knits, as we sit at the coffee shop and while away the hours chatting and playing with yarn!
I love to crochet because it is my time to relax, forget the office and make something for a loved one. I have had many people ask me to teach them yo crochet. We have a bunch of girls at work that have learned and love it. It makes me fell good to see what they have made and how excited the get to learn something new

An elderly woman who was a perfect stranger, taught me to crochet. Just the basics, chain and single crochet, but that was enough. 40 years later and I’m still at it, thanks to that sweet lady who took time to show a young lady a life of happiness. Who also shares her happiness with others.

Knitting helps me relax and get centered again after a hectic day – which is everyday. The sense of accomplishment, the rhythmic motions and even the mental focus required to follow a pattern all serve to bring a calming influence in my crazy world! Oh, and I also get some really neat gifts and things made!
Knitting is such a stress relief for me and having a usable item at the end of it all is just priceless.
I love knitting and crochet because it fulfills two needs at once. My need to keep my hands busy and relax. I also (sometimes) enjoy the thought process of making a gift for someone. Deciding on a project, yarn and colors for someone can be exhausting but finishing a gift for someone that you put so much time and effort into very rewarding.
I love crocheting and knitting because my grandma taught me how to when I was eight years old. She passed away when I was in the fifth grade and her passing was very hard for me. She practically raised me. I stopped for years because out didn’t feel right to do it without her. Then I started up again. It is the only gift she ever gave me that no one can ever take away and that I can give to other people whether in the form of garments or teaching them as well without losing possession of the beautiful gift she gave me. I can only make the gift grow.
It’s relaxing and I enjoy making things for others.
I like to knit and crochet. It is really fun to do either one when I am with my daughter or the local yarn club. I am amazed at what can be made with yarn.

I love to crochet because it helps me to show my family and friends how much I love them and cherish their love and friendship. It is a way to share my love of yarn and hopefully encourage them to learn to love crocheting too.
I love to crochet! I was taught at about the age of 14 and have loved and enjoyed it since. It is not only relaxing, but such fun to see the product/products which you have created once finished. Enjoyment of usage at it’s best!! Such long lasting quality, made of your own desirous colors, patterns, and decorating with it all as well. Such a nice, heartwarming, homewarming, compliment to any decor as well as to wear too!
I’ve knitted and crocheted for 40 yrs for many reasons!, The challenge, pride in finished product, the feel of the yarn, the colors, the pure joy of doing it, wearing and using the item, and giving as a gift!

Whether for charities or family and even friends, it only leaves you with a happy feeling pf satisfaction.
I loved to knit because it relaxed me and also let’s me use my creative side. Also it is part of therapy to keep fine motor skills in my hands which suffer from arthritis and weakness. Plus I love making my own clothes:-)
I have been knitting and crocheting for over 40 years. I find it to be relaxing and love to see a pattern begin to take shape; in addition I love to gift people with things I made by myself. I have fond memories of my mother and grandmother knitting and crocheting and my work gives me ;a connection to my family.
I feel productive – crocheting mittens for children (charity) is quick and easy and I always have a hook and yarn in my car for waiting rooms and other occasions. It gives me a sense of accomplishment.

I have been knitting and crocheting since I was 10. I love to create items and give them as gifts. I have a very logical kind of job that is full of rules and math and programming and intense. To knit or crochet is a simple counting pattern. I also have Rheumatoid Arthritis and working with my hands keeps them limber and less pain and destruction. I create watching tv or listening to audio books!
I love knitting and crocheting because it calms me and keeps my hands from hurting due to arthritis.
I love to crochet because it relaxes me and I enjoy finishing a project and the sense of accomplishment that I feel from it. Also it is one of the few things my grandma got to teach me before she had to stop crocheting herself.
I love to knit and crochet because watching a ball of yarn turn into a fabulous creation always seems like such a magical process to me. I am smitten.
I crochet because I love being able to take a hook and some yarn and something pretty and/or useful for my family and friends.
The best CBT – the clicking of the needles, the feel of the wool and the comfort of a completed item.
It helps with my depression and I love making things for my family and I to use.
I picked up knitting again after my son was born and fell in love with all over again. It’s my “me” time.
It gives me a sense of accomplishment when I produce something I worked so hard on.
It is so relaxing & I’m making something most appreciate!
I love to make hats and mittens for children that need them. Gives me quite a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.
I love to knit & crochet because it helps me to relax. I also like the challenge of new patterns to keep my brain active. The items I make are normally gifts for friends or for charities. The feeling of helping to make a difference in my community is really satisfying.
I love to crochet because it is meditative and relaxes me. Also I love making gifts for all my friends and family, by crafting it myself I can ensure it is a one of a kind unique gift that they won’t get from anyone else. Handcrafted truly shows the love.
I also knit for many of the resons stated by others…relaxing, stress relief. I like portable projects that I can take with me traveling or when at meetings or conferences. I am currently knitting cowls and selling them with my local yarn shop to benefit our domestic violence center because October is Domestic Violence Awareness month.
I love to knit and crochet because it really fun and satisfying. I crochet and knit not only for myself and my family, but I also make charity afghans for seniors in local nursing homes. When I visit someone in the nursing home and give them an afghan, they are so very happy for the gift and that someone is visiting them and giving them time. For me, knitting and crocheting is an extension of good will and love.
I have arthritist so it keeps my hands and mind moving, and beautiful result that I can share w friends family and charities.
Im bipolar and it helps with my anxiety
I love to knit, it not is relaxing but allows one to create objects from yarn and a pair of needles that are varied and beautiful.
The act of creating something with your hands is satisfying. And I lve watching the patterns emerge every time I try a new pattern.
For me, knitting and crochet is all about making something unique and beautiful and then giving that unique and beautiful thing to someone I love. It’s all about putting smiles on faces.
Also, post zombie apocalypse life skills will be favored by the masses.
I love to crochet because my polish grandmother comes back into my memories. She took the time to teach me when I was about 10 years old. When you watch a project go from a skein of yarn to a blanket or scarf or whatever the finished project is, it is very rewarding. I love when my grandkids say “How do you do that’? I can’t wait to teach my oldest grandchild she will be nine this year.
I enjoy creating a unique gift and finding the time for that commitment to our relationship.
It brings back good memories of my mother, who knit slippers for us every year. Knitting, crochet, and machine knitting also feed my need to be creative. Making and donating warm hats, gloves, mittens, scarves and afghans for others is good for the soul, and helps out those in need. Plus, you can’t beat the therapeutic benefits!
I want to be part of God’s work, helping people but have little money to donate. I get yarn on sale at the thrift store and make practical things for those in need, like lapghans, hats and scarfs. I have fun making it and my finished projects don’t pile up around the house.
I love to knit and crochet and the reason?
Because of all the things I’ve lost the ability to do, these are my lifeline to normality. Due to a weird type of arthritis my hands are not what they used to be, I was so scared that I would never be able to knit or crochet. With a little research my son and daughter found needles and hooks that I can hold and don’t hurt. I’m now a very happy camper and have turned into a addict of all things yarn =)
I have given up smoking. It helps to keep me busy, and I enjoy making knitted and crochet items to give to family and friends
I like to give homemade gifts to friends and family. Knitting and crocheting gives me a chance to create something special for each person, and it’s something they can’t buy in a store. It’s so nice to hear that other Mother’s are asking my Grand-Daughter where she gets the hats, mitts & scarves for her little boys and she replies “My Grandma makes them”!
I love to make gifts for family and friends. The process itself is relaxing and there is such a feeling of accomplishment when a project is done. Visible love in a handmade gift.
I love to crochet because it is very calming and I can make some great stuff for family and friends. Now that I have grand children with more on the way, I can make blankets and more like my mother did for me when I had my children.
I get great personal satisfaction when I make something myself.
I give most of what I crochet to family and friends cause I like the fact the gift is handmade
A stress reliever and love to knit and create.
I love to knit because it feels very good to be creative and end up with something that I can use or give to someone else to use. It is also very relaxing and helped teach me patience.
I love to crochet because it gives me a creative outlet. Also, something to do when my husband is at work and it gets boring sitting home in the evenings alone.
I love to crochet because it amazes me that I can be still and productive at the same time. Relaxing and making something wonderful for someone special. That’s truly a blessing for me and them.

Aloha Friend:
Crocheting & Knitting is becoming a “Lost Art” in this age of Technology, & “One of a Kind” Hand Made Items from the heart are so very special. I can now pass this along to anyone who wants to learn this. Giving gifts that you made yourself are appreciated so much, & can be handed down.
I love making things for my family to remember me by and it relaxes me at the same time.
Knitting and crocheting is a creative process that I can do after fondling the softest of fibers!
It gives me peace in my mind while I am using my creative mind in a useful way. I love to create and give it away afterwards. It help me when I was in a deep depression and have never left it since.

I love to crochet because it lets me turn off my stress and get lost in the process and at the end I have a great item for a gift or myself!
I tell people it’s my way of fidgeting – helps me to sit still, wait on line, handle travel delays and long meetings, etc. My work is very technical and sometimes never-ending, so it helps to feed the other side of my brain.
I love to knit and crochet because it is relaxing and I love to produce beautiful projects to use as gifts or to treat myself. I love making all sorts of crafts from clothing to afghans, etc. Most people that I give these gifts to are so excited to receive a home crafted gift that it makes the time worth it. My sister and I have been teaching knitting and crocheting to ladies at church so that these arts are not forgotten. Love it.

it is an addiction I can’t control! But seriously now… It brings a calmness and happiness to my busy days. And I knit mostly for charity, so it is an addiction I’m planning to keep.
I am a newbie in the world of knitting and I have realized I am pretty good at it. I love the relaxation it provides and all the beautiful things I can make. People actually love what I’ve made. Who knew?! I can’t wait to get better over the years and be just like my great grandmother and hand down hand knit things to my kids, their kids….and so on!
Knitting keeps me sane. It relaxes me & allows me to reboot! Plus I get wonderful handknit items!
I tell my grandchildren, knitting and crocheting keeps me off the streets and out of the bars. At my age, that is a good thing.

Crocheting is the onne thing in my life that keeps me sane. It takes my mind of my chronic migraines and fibromyalgia
I learned to crochet when I was 28 years old. A neighbour of mine had been making doilies and I admired them so much that she offered to teach me. That was a wonderful gift she gave me. I love to crochet and watch the progress to the finished product. The products I produce make great gifts!! Thanks to sites like this I’m constantly learning new stitches and am fascinated by them!
I love to knit because it’s nice to be able to create something beautiful. It seems that there is so much ugly in the world with how people treat one another. If I can put a smile on someone by something I create, I fell good.
My Grandma and my Mom both crocheted and I learned from them at an early age. I love making gifts for my family and friends. All of my nieces and nephews get an afghan when they get married and any new babies get a blanket!
I have no patience for anything… except working with yarn. I love to knit and crochet. I love everything about it – the beautiful colors and textures of yarn; the gorgeous patterns; the cozy feel of being wrapped in the finished project; the warm feeling I get when I give people my hand-made items; and the camaraderie of other yarn addicts who know exactly what I mean and sympathize when I agonize over a skein of gorgeous yarn, because I have absolutely no room to store ONE MORE SKEIN (nor the $ to buy it), but I buy it anyway, because … yarn fumes!
I learned to knit as a way to deal with fighting cancer. After treatments and returning to “normal life” I found I had a desire to never be without yarn and needles.
I love to see how it all turns out because a picture is good but to see it for real is even better and knowing you did it is amazing xxx
Knitting and/or crocheting is the three Ss and I don’t mean sun sea and sex it’s far better – Stress-relieving, Slimming Saviour !

I love knitting for a few reasons. 1. It is extremely relaxing. 2. There is a feeling of accomplishment when I finish a project that is beautiful but function-able. 3. Knitting has such an array of various patterns and yarns that can be worked with that you can choose to do the same thing over and over or something different and new. 4. You can always learn new stitches, patterns and learn to work with different yarns. 5. Creating my own patterns.

I love being able to provide these items for needy children and I’m always looking for good deals on yarn.
I love both, but enjoy crochet more. I love to make gifts for my friends and family while I relax with my feet up. Also, it helps keep my fingers limber and strong. I believe it helps hand-eye coordination. It’s a wonderful way to express ones self by creating patterns.

I first learned to crochet when I was twelve, but never learned how to actually make anything. My grandmother was trying to give me lessons on crocheting, yet I failed to stick with it. Part of the reason I love to crochet now is because it takes me back to that time and I can now say that I may have given up all those years ago, but I returned to it with a passion. Unlike some of my other hobbies, I’ve managed to create many crocheted items. It’s great to finish each project and and know those who’ve received one of my items enjoys it!
Relaxation!!!
It keeps me sane and focused in a rush by world.
Because it saved me when I was a child in an abusive family all the way around it was my escape. However my life is 1000 times better today.
