Celebrities That Crochet — And The Patterns They Love!

September 11, 2014 by AllFreeCrochet

celeb-crochet.Celebrities– they are just like us!

There are a handful of Hollywood idols that have been known to pick up a crochet hook and whip something up in their down time. Aside from the obvious super crafty celebs (Vanna White and Martha Stewart), there are tons of leading ladies that have either been spotted with a crochet hook in their hand, or have admitted to being a yarnie.

Scroll down to discover some of the biggest names that are hooked on crochet just like us! Plus, find some free crochet patterns that we can’t help but assume they would love to make.

Celebs That Crochet:

  1. Eva Longoria:

We’re sure the Desperate Housewives would love to wear this Sparkly Christmas Hostess Apron at their next dinner party.

  2. Bette Davis:

The elegant look of the Vintage Lace Shawl is straight-up old Hollywood glamour, and we love it.

  3. Vanna White:

This letter-turning celebrity has made a huge name for herself in the yarn industry, joining forces with Lion Brand Yarn and coming up with her very own line of year. Make the Earth Toned Afghan using some of Vanna White’s very own yarn, Vanna’s Choice!

  4. Madonna:

We swear, we didn’t steal these Eighties Fishnet Gloves from the Material Girl’s closet!

  5. Aretha Franklin:

B-E-R-E-T-S, find out what they mean to her. Also, it’s been reported that the pineapple stitch is the singer’s favorite stitch.

  6. Jane Seymour:

Inspired by Jane Seymour’s beautiful Open Hearts jewelry line, these 5 Minute Hearts could easily be turned into a lovely heart necklace for that special someone.

  7. Meryl Streep:

The Swanky Crochet Kaftan looks like something we stole right out of Miranda Priestly’s closet in The Devil Wears Prada (played by the one and only Meryl Streep).

  8. Cher:

Have yourself a hippy little Christmas this year with the Hippie Holidays Vest! This retro-inspired crochet pattern is certainly something we would have seen Cher sporting back in the day.

  9. Debra Messing:

She once crocheted a square for a celebrity charity blanket; maybe it looked something like this Granny Square Throw.

  10. Carolyn Rhea:

She’s best known for her role on the TV program, Sabrina, the Teen Age Witch. I wonder if she ever crocheted herself a Festive Witch Hat like this one!

  11. Rebecca Romijn:

The Corset Style Motif Belt is both trendy and stylish, just like the supermodel herself.

  12. Laura Ingalls Wilder:

Wear the Pretty Prairie Scarf and channel your inner Little House on the Prairie lifestyle.

  13. Trisha Yearwood:

I bet this country superstar has a pair of pink cowboy boots like these in her closet!

  14. Catherine Zeta-Jones:

She’s been in a handful of amazing movies including Chicago, Oceans Twelve, and The Terminal, but many people remember her for her work in the Mask of Zorro. This Metallic Masquerade Mask looks just like Zorro’s!

PLUS: These celebs may not crochet, but here are some patterns we know they would love if they did:

  1. Jennifer Lawrence:

This crocheted District 12 Cowl Wrap looks just like the one she sported in The Hunger Games

  2. Kim Kardashian:

Her style can sometimes be considered a bit risque, like this crocheted Sleazy Dress.

  3. Angelina Jolie:

Inspired by her leading role in Maleficent, this Wickedly Vibrant Crochet Cowl would look great on Mrs. Pitt

  4. Zoe Saldana:

She worked alongside Vin Deisel (the voice of Groot) in the hit movie Guardians of the Galaxy, so we know she would love this Free Crochet Groot Patern as much as we do!

  5. Walt Disney:

If Walt Disney himself were still alive, we know he would appreciate these cute Mickey and Minnie Mouse crochet hats.

  6. George Lucas:

    Crochet this Yoda, you will!
