It’s April 1st, it’s Free Pattern Friday, and there are no jokes here! Season 2 of Outlander begins airing this month, and if you’re a fan like me, you’ve been eagerly anticipating this moment since the last one ended. In the time it’s taken to film the second season, I’ve had time to read four of the Outlander books (although I’m not caught up yet, so no spoilers!) and my obsession has only grown. If you’re looking for a story that combines history, romance, drama, and a bit of sci-fi, then Outlander is the book (or show!) for you.
When I first started watching the television series, the first thing I noticed were all the great chunky knits that the characters wear. I’m sure it’s rather cold in Scotland, and even though the series began in the summertime, I was already longing for fall just by looking at all the wraps and cowls featured in the show! Today we’re bringing you an Outlander-inspired pattern from Red Heart Yarn – a capelet that looks just like something Claire could be found roaming the highlands in. Work up this pattern just in time for the return of the show – I know I’ll be on the edge of my seat!

Pattern is wrong on the decreasing. .you need to decrease a lot faster to get the right number of stitches for the collar. ..otherwise your capelet ends up way too long

Love the capelet, it was so easy to follow the directions and knit it. Beautiful, I got the yarn through Amazon and I finished it in less than a day. Thang you for the pattern.
