Happy day, Stitch and Unwind readers! It’s Bethany again (I blog at Whistle and Ivy), and today I am sharing the pattern for this Crochet Cactus Pincushion Jar.
I am absolutely loving this cactus trend, I think it’s absolutely adorable. One, because cactuses are pretty darn cute, and two, because they are the only houseplant I have been able to keep alive, so I appreciate their inherent grit.

Leave a long tail.
Stuff the trunk firmly, and sew into place on the gray base with your darning needle and tail. Sew it slightly to the side of the middle of the base.
Next, stuff the small arm, and sew it on the cactus, the opposite way the trunk is leaning. Use your darning needle and long tail to sew it in place.
Heat up your hot glue gun, and sew the ring to the lid. Be sure to glue it firmly, the stuffing in the lid will put pressure on it.
Once it’s glued well, you can glue the cactus to the lid. Glue it in pieces, being sure that each part of the circle is glued firmly. Once most of the cactus is glued down, leave an opening. Stuff some polyfil through the unglued opening. Once it’s stuffed, glue the remaining space closed.
To finish, you can glue a small flower at the top of the arm. To make the flower, start with a magic ring, and sc 6 in the ring. Tie it off, and tie the ends into a knot on the back. Attach it to the arm with a small circle of hot glue.
