Knit in Public Week: Day 9
Thoughts on Knitting in Public
The full schedule of prizes, giveaways, tips, and tutorials can be found on this page here.
Although Knit in Public Week only occurs once a year, it doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate it year round! We hope you’ve enjoyed this week as much as we have. It’s encouraging to know that we’re all surrounded by such a great community of knitters, online and off. Our last piece of advice is to use your knitting network to your advantage! Call up some friends and start an informal knitting group or plan a day to sit in the park and work on your latest project. However you plan on celebrating Knit in Public Week, share the celebration with others!
The Day 8 and Grand Prize Winner will be announced tomorrow morning, so stay tuned!
Happy Knit in Public Week, all!

I loved it! I knitted every chance I could. We even had a program at church today on the Contemplative life in a 24/7 world and I was very contemplative knitting a shawlette!
This was great. This is my first year of knitting, and I am loving every minute of it.
Yes, I knitted while the kids played at the park and while waiting to pick them up from school!
Your posts for Knit In Public Week were fantastic, I especially liked the Infographics. They’re totally great to print out and keep handy!
You bet! Locally I’m a bit infamous for always having some knitting close at hand and a curiosity. Now I feel more a part of a social movement. After all most everyone else has their I-phone out.
Yes. I enjoyed coming back every day to see the blogs and free patterns. Having a chance to win something is a bonus.
Yes my knitting goes with me everywhere. I knit on breaks at work, while my husband drives on our outings and in restraunts waiting for dinner.
Yes <3 it! 😀
enjoyed very much, not that I need an excuse to knit but,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I have fun knitting in public with my 2 knitting groups at the Music in the Park program at our local downtown park. Local singers and musicians play at park every Wednesday from 11:30 am to 1:30pm during the month of June every year. It was hot 90 degrees while we were knitting.
Enjoyed this Knit in Public week very much. Thanks for the information and the giveaways.
Fun, fun, fun! Congrats to prize winners! It occurred to me this week when I had service done on my car, as I pulled out my knitting (which is usually a conversation starter) everyone in the waiting room was on their smart phones! No one even noticed I was knitting! LOL
I did indeed! Especially since I knit in public all the time… YARN! don’t leave home w/out it 😉
thanks for a great week of knitting fun!
I really enjoyed the knit in public week, especially all the information and comments on this site. It made me feel a part of something special that I enjoy doing.
Thank you!
I loved the questions, the posted answers and it is nice to see a revival of this. It made me think of my wonderful knitting teachers who are no longer with me, but who instilled the live of the craft and to not be afraid of the challenge of a new pattern, one of which I took on during my first visit to Spain.!
I knit any time anywhere! Thanks for all the advice, ideas, and all the comments. I thoroughly enjoy these knitting websites!
It was fun. Thank you for all the advice and tips.
Yes, it was fun and the links you provided was interesting. Thank you.
Yes I enjoyed the week. Thanks for the great prizes and the information. Even though I have knit for over 50 years, I am still learning and enjoying every chance I have to knit.
It was great! I knit every day anyway, so it was nice to actually knit in public for a change.
Knitting in public opens doors for conversations with others. My favorite place to knit while away from home is the doctors office.
Yes! It was so much fun to follow this blog!
Knitting was all that kept me sane thru a family reunion yesterday! Hands full of yarn can’t be full of food, nor around anyone’s throat….
I enjoyed the week even though I was unable to knit in public at this time because of prior commitments. I have in the past knitted in public.
Never leave home without some knitting project in my bag so I can knit whenever and wherever.
