I have not made anything as of yet but give me some time. I am opening a hat shop at a local antique gallery. It will have veils, hankies, and anything else I can find to make.
I’ve crocheted a Heart Shaped pattern and used a stiffining to make it firm and used it as a wedding cake topper, also have crocheted several ring bearer pillows.
One of my daughters got married in January. Not having too much extra money around, I decided to crochet some things for her. Her favorite was a “money bag” for when they did the dollar dances at the reception. I did a drawstring pocketbook in a nice shiney white cotton thread and decorated the from with a flower/rhinestone arrangement that matched her outfit. It’s a one of a kind!
I crocheted a beaded shawl for my oldest granddaughter for her wedding. I also entered it in our local Fair and it won a “Best in Show” blue ribbon. I also crocheted beaded shawls for the whole wedding party for another of my granddaughters. So much fun and sooooo pretty!
For my own wedding in July, 1987, I crocheted the flower girls’ basket and fans for the bridesmaids. I decorated the fans with silk flowers and filled the basket with the same. For my sisters’ wedding, I crocheted her wedding dress which took 200 hours. I made satin panels which I decorated with beads and silk flowers. She looked beautiful in it and it got many favourable comments about it.
Hi Sherree –
Do you have a pattern for the lace fans you made? I’m looking for such a pattern, am wondering if you can/will share the pattern?
Thanks!
I crocheted all the lace edging for my original wedding dress many years ago, it turned out beautiful, even though it took a very long time to accomplish! From my shop I have also sold my chokers and wrist cuffs to brides and bridesmaids….It is lovely to have something “handmade with love and care” on that special day!
For my daughter-in-law’s wedding held in December four years ago, I crocheted a bed jacket adapted for a wedding. She looked like a snow princess as she left the wedding.
