i love knitting/crocheting for charity! i participated in knit, pray, love last year and made hats for orphan babies who underwent surgery in Afghanistan. i pray as i knit or crochet hats for friends undergoing chemotherapy. i make and donate items for raffles and fundraisers. i’m thankful that many folks have donated bags of yarn to me…all it takes is a little bit of my time to make something to help someone else.

I’m new at this so, I’m not confident enough to submit anything to charity yet but I know that 1 day I’ll be good enough and confident enough to finally be able to “give back” .

I have donated chemo caps to the cancer center where my grandma undergoes treatment. I also donated a crocheted pumpkin pie to them that had spices inside of it so it smelled like the real thing. People who were nauseous from the chemo said smelling the spices helped them feel better.

I crochet for our church’s prayer shawl ministry. We also give baby blankets to sick babies as well as crocheted stuffed animals. I also crochet assorted items to sell that benefit our church’s nursery school scholarship fund.

I crochet for our church’s prayer shawl ministry. Around Christmas time we have also been crocheting Santa hats for the NICU at a local hospital. Some of our members are also involved in crocheting for other charities, such as chemo hats, etc.

Started the Berry Creek Linus Circle almost 12 year ago and we make crochet, knitted and quilted blankets for children located in the central Texas area. To date we have made over 8000 blankets and the main organization which is the Linus Connection has made close to 80,000 in the last 14 years.

I am just learning to crochet. Currently, I teach knitting to 4th-6th grade students. They are working on baby items, such as hats, mittens and booties that will be donated to charity.Next year, I want to teach them to crochet…then they can choose to knit or crochet.

I have made hats for Halos of Hope and for a Native American school’s kids. Currently I’m almost finished with a squares blanket with flower appliques to donate to Camp Erin for grieving children.
