Purrsonally, I would not crochet with cat hair. However, I saw the episode of “Must Love Cats” where someone does do this. I would love to have a little something created for me with my kitty’s ever-so-soft fur!

I don’t know if I would crochet with pet hair or not. I might if it is the only thing to crochet with.

years ago, i was visiting my daughter who had a white manx that she combed every morning. i asked her if i could try hand spinning what she had that morning and did just that – spun a modest length of ‘yarn’. over the next few mornings, i collected adn spun enough yarn to knit a 4 inch swatch! it was soft, had a good drape, and felt really good. i offered to make a ‘kitty blankie’ for the manx’s bed basket if she would send me the cat fibers, but she never did. sigh

I’ve heard about crocheting with pet hair and I would be interested to give it a try. I also agree with Jennifer, I have 2 cats and their fur is in all my projects. The way one of them is shedding right now I could probably make an afghan!

No…I don’t think that I could because it would remind me of my previous pets that are now in pet heaven. I had long hair minature dashounds and their coats were beautiful; but,………….nah! I don’t think I could.

I think my golden retriecer’s hair would be great. I don’t see myself using the gerbils fur though it’s much too short. Does anyone know how to spin dog hair? I have a lot of dust bunnies.

I have 3 cats in a variety of gray, black and white. I have cat hair everywhere, and I did save a lot of BubbaLouie’s fur at one time, but decided that since I didn’t know anyone who would spin it into yarn, I wouldn’t keep it any longer. I’m sure it would make a very soft crocheted anything, but even though I still think I could, I haven’t.

I am a beginner crocheter and love it ! This book would be wonderful to win !! I don’t know if I would crochet with pet hair on purpose, maybe to make them a blanket out of, but since I do have several dogs and it is shedding season I will say their hair ends up on my crochet project!!

I would love to win this book as I really need to relearn crochet as I have a new baby girl coming into the family in May. My cat has hair that is about an inch and a half long, how on earth can you crochet with that?

I need this book very badly. I am not that good of a crocheter. I would dearly love to win it and help me to crochet more things.
No, I don’t think I would or could crochet with my pet’s hair. He is a
dashound and his hair is very short and stiff.

I don’t know that I could crochet with pet hair. I think it would make me miss them too much once they’re gone. But you never know. I would have the same issue as others in that I don’t have a way to spin the hair into yarn.

We have a Golden Retriever who sheds constantly. Her fur would probably make into a lovely fabric. I know someone who had his dogs’ hair made into yarn and then make a sweater. Not sure about the smell if it got wet.
