Ahhh how to choose?? Mittens are so warm, but hats are relaxing to knit… I’d have to go with hats!
Hats because I’m usually doing work that I need my fingers free. Thank -you.
Hats
I love to crochet hats. I prefer gloves to mittens.
I love to make hats. Best gifts to give and also make them for cancer patients
Hats. That way, my hands are free to knit! 🙂
Hats and mittens go together, can’t have one with out the other.
Mittens! So much fun trying them on as you go. Once they’re done you can see them when you wear them and marvel at you handiwork!
I love doing hats.. and wearing them as well!!
I love to knit hats for my seven grandsons, other family members. and friends.
Hats, I love them
Hats definitely!
I’m a huge fan of hats!!
I love to knit hats!
Hats! There really quick and don’t take much yarn.
This year I have learned to knit both hats and mittens-I am a huge fan!
Hats are my favorite thing to make.
Hats! I have made 5 this winter for friends and family.
I am a fan of hats. I love to knit the animal ones-so much fun!
Hats!
Hats!
I love hats a lot of fun to make!
Hats!
I am definitely a fan of hats!
Hats to keep our family’s brains warm!!
I love making hats of all sorts of designs/patterns, especially for babies! I haven’t quite gotten the hang of making the thumbs on mittens! I don’t wear hats or mittens cuz they drive me crazy!
hat’s for me, i like making them on loom’s they work up fast and you get to see the finished product that same day..so it is hat’s me also…
I just finished a pair of fingerless mitts for Ravellenics….but, I would still have to go with hats. I’ve knitted more hats and, love the warmth.
I love hats! You can be much more creative with hats than mittens.
I’m a mad hatter, but I am about to cast on my first mitts this weekend. Maybe I’ll be a convert!
Love this! A must knit for my daughter!
When it comes to making them I would say hats. I love mittens though.
Hats! My two boys love them, and they are super easy to design.
Both! It is so cold here I’ve been making lots and lots of hats but I realize I need to learn to make mittens too !
I am making hats now with flowers on them, and I have to make my granddaughter a pair of fingerless gloves. I also have a really simple pattern for mittens. The hats are my favorite, they take so little time and I can make lots of them for gifts.
Hats, hands down! You can never have enough hats! 🙂
I like to make hats and fingerless gloves or wristlets.
Yes I am a fan of both! I knit and crochet them year round and put them in a big basket and let everyone I know and love pick from it at the holidays!
Hats are my favorite!
Hats can never have enough!
I love to make hats. But recently have become a fan of mittens. Can I like both:-)
Hats for the ten grandkids and mitts for me and my friends! Love both!
Hats!!
Hats, because they are instant gratification. No second one to cast on. Of course my family would probably appreciate it if I would make more socks and less hats 🙂
Hats!
Mostly mitten but love hats too!
Hats! No wait, mitts! Both!
I’m more of a hat girl myself
I love to make hats. But I have very curly hair, and not a fan of taking off the hat once its been put on. But I would absolutely love to learn how to make mittens. Ah ha! New project!!!
I love to knit, and hats are one of my favorite projects because they satisfy that need for instant gratification!
Oh, definitely hats! I love making both but mittens can be kind of a pain once you have them on. It’s hard to do anything!
Hats definitely.
I like to knit hats and fingerless mitts.
Hats
Hats even though they smash hair!
I enjoy hats!
I love knitting and crocheting both hats and mittens as well as scarves and cowls! I buy Red Heart Yarn more often than many other brands, too!
I love hats with pom-poms!
I like to make hats most. MIttens are a close second.
Hats! Keep your head nice and warm and don”t need to take them off to do things.
Hats! It is hard to knit when your are wearing mittens.
I adore hats…all kinds, with lots of color !!!
It’s too warm in Arizona for mittens, so gauntlets and hats are the way to go.
Hats all the way! Except when they mess up my hair. But a hat is so comfy and can keep my ears warm. 😀
I love them both! Since I live in the Yukon it’s beneficial to have a good supply of both mittens and hats around to keep warm with – although I do have to admit I have probably knit more hats then mitts over the years.
Love that hat. It is perfect for all these snowy days.
Oh, I love this hat and the colors are stupendous! I need this so I can knit it for my upcoming ski trip to Montana!!!!
My coat has a hood which means I rarely wear hats so I’m going with mittens. That reminds me, I really need to make myself a new pair.
I really like to make mittens.
Hats. I started knitting because I wanted to learn to Fair Island Knit.
I love hats! You can always put your hands in your pockets, but you need a hat!
I love HATS … and I really want to learn to knit mittens.
Love hats.
HATS!!!!! Love them esp pink ones!
Definitely more a fan of hats than mittens. Knitted wool mittens do not keep my hands warm. I need thick wool fleece, and even then my hands are still chilly.
Definately have to go with hats! They can be worn all year. Too hot in the summer for mittens. :0)
Hats!
hats!!
Yes! I am a fan of both. I enjoy wearing and knitting hats and mittens. I make sure to knit my mittens two at a time that way I end up with a pair! 😉
I’m a fan of both hats & mittens, but I LOVE to knit hats – probably my favorite things to knit. I especially love child and baby hats because they can be finished in one sitting – great sense of accomplishment!
Love hats! Mittens are ok but there is a lack of dexterity when wearing them.
Hats hands down. Mittens make me feel all tied up. I’d take gloves over mittens any day.
I love hats, hats, hats!
Mittens. I am less a fan of hats, but maybe I have not ventured trying a cute, fun hat!
I love to wear hats, but I like to knit mittens more 🙂
Hats because I haven’t learned mittens yet.
Love hats and fingerless gloves. Both easy to knit — a break after learning to knit new stitch patterns.
I think they are really cute, and I’ve made them for others. But I usually don’t wear them myself ~ unless I’m driving, then I will wear “driving” gloves.
Love them both but I’ll have to go with hats!
Always have at least one hat on the needles and usually give them away to family and friends, but do keep one for myself now and then. Love to make fingerless mitts, too.
I’m a fan of hats. Mom taught us to keep our extremities covered – it keeps the heat in. You need a hat for your head. Hands can always find someplace small to warm up – a pocket, an armpit, your sweeties hand! But your head needs to be cozy too – hats fill the job.
Sure, you could use a scarf, ear warmers, or a thick headband. But a hat is personality!
I would have to say hats as I love in florida and mittens aren’t used as much.
Hats, definitely.
Hats, can’t stand much on my hands.
Definitely hats!! Easy, fun and you can get very creative with design!
love this!
I’m a fan of Hats
Hats. sounds lazy, but they’re easier.
I love to wear both! But have not yet tried to knit mitts myself. lol
I love both but if I had to make a choice I would choose hats. The second mitten is always so daunting. There is such variety in hat patterns that I could go my whole life and never do the same one twice!
I love hats and I love knitting hats …enjoy making them very much….
Hats are fun to make.
Hats, definitely hats!
Mittens…to wear, I have never made them, but I will someday!
Hats and more hats!!!
I would say I am most a fan of hats 🙂 Most definitely hats!
hats! I make hats for chemo patients and so enjoy getting to indulge myself in such a variety of colors and textures!
I love hats but I don’t look too nice in them (in my opinion!) But they and mittens are a necessity here in Ontario. So I vote mittens since I can wear those without worrying how I look.
Hats! I haven’t tried mittens yet.
I like both. I crochet and knit both items for myself and my shop!
I love mittens.
love the creavitiy and colors you can make with HATS
I love knitting both but I’m especially partial to hats. They’re fun and fast to knit up!
I will say hats because I haven’t learned to make mittens…. YET 😀
I love knitting hats. So much fun!
HATS, I don’t have to make two just alike. lol
I love the challenge of mittens but the ease of knitting hats.
Mittens. I never ware hats.
I have not yet tackled mittens, so hats are my favorite. Someday I will try!
I prefer mittens, because I know a lot of folks who complain about cold hands.
I love both, but definitely prefer hats. I love knitting them and wearing them.
I like hats… and I’ve not made mittens yet. I just want to get a whole bunch of yarn together and do yarn angels for once.
Hats,definitely hats!
hats are easier. can’t seem to get both mittens the same size.
How can I choose between hats and mittens?? That’s like asking do I like getting my hair styled, or getting a manicure?? Of course I love both!! I really enjoy all the different styles of hats and I was very impressed by the slouchy hats for the USA Olympics. OTH being a hard working hard playing woman, I really need gloves, from October through March. My favorite are making wrist warmers or fingerless gloves, so that I could continue face booking, iPad playing, fishing, crafting, knitting, etc. etc. etc. so don’t make me choose one or the other, that’s just inhumane!!!
Isn’t this a yes no question? Yes, I am a fan of hats and mittens! I make more hats than mittens, however. My friends are fans of my hats.
Love to knit and wear them both, but hats are the most relaxing to knit. But you gotta admit, a toasty pair of warm soft mittens, with the weather the way it has been this winter, well……..
I love hats and I need to keep my fingers free to knit or crochet! Fingerless gloves!
I would have to say hats because I crochet them for my family
Love to knit hats!
I love knitting hats.
I love knitting hats and crocheting mittens!
I looove to knit hats! My favorite.
Have made several hats, but have not yet tried mittens. Definetly on my wish list!
I am a fan of hats as there are so many different ways you can decorate or design them while also being whimsical and cute
Here in Canada, yes, hats and mittens both eh.
I love hats! quick and fun to knit!
Love mittens but hats are so much easier to knit. So I guess it’s hats.
hats…altho i like mittens
Hats off to hats! 🙂
I’m a fan of both. 🙂
I’m a hat girl!
Hats!
Mittens, mostly fingerless!
Hats and mittens, how does one choose? You really need both to keep warm on these cold winter days. Though I would have to say mittens due to the fact that I have made a couple pairs of fingerless mitts for friends and wish to make myself a pair of mitts as well.
I love both. Working on a farm though, and having to take care of animals this snowy winter, I learned a lot about what keeps me and the family warm. Mittens are an essential!
Hats because I don’t know how to make mittens yet 🙂
Hats!
while i DO enjoy knitting mittens, I LOVE hats. I knit lots of hats for PatPat’s Hats so that I can donate hats to children in need. Though I WILL be knitting mittens to distribute to children and adults in need.
Charity hats
Mittens!!!!!
Fabulous mittens!!!!
❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
I’m definitely a fan of hats but not so much for mittens. I like my fingers to be separately wrapped with gloves.
Mittens for me!
Hats, enjoy making hats for myself and friends.
I love hats. I could almost knit them in my sleep. 🙂
I love to make hats the best. I have not made many pairs of mittens but I do have a couple of really cute patterns I want to try out.
I love knitting hats, its my favorit thing to knit. Starting from thanksgiving and till today i have knitted 32 hats for my twin boys and other members of my family
Hats. I am afraid my baby fine hair is a bit thinner now a days.
Hats
Hats and mittens are both good for keeping you warm when the snow falls, but I think knitting hats gives you a wider range of creative expression than knitting mittens.
I love them both but if I had to pick a favorite I’d pick “Hat”!
hats,hats and more hats!!!
Hats, I absolutely love hats.
Mittens!
I’d prefer hats
I love to wear both but when it comes to making them, I definitely like hats better.
Hats. I like making mittens but only the hats seem to get worn.
LIving in Louisian we don’t have a lot of cold weather. But I am interested in learning to make hats. This would certainly be helpful.
Nowadays I am -mittens keep my fingers from going white!
Is too cold where I live to not be a fan of hats an mittens!!
Hats Thanks for the chance to WIN!!
Hats and gloves are my choice.
Hats – for all my cold friends from my warm climate.
Mad hatter here. I enjoy knitting mittens-it just seems that hats win out!
I love both! But I enjoy knitting hats just a tiny bit more.
I love hats.
Definitely hats as there are infinite variations to be made..
I love making hats.
Mittens for me!
I love to do hats! I love all the different types of designs you can make 🙂
Hats! Made many while my son was deployed. I made them for the men he was deployed with, they wanted Lion, penguin, panda, and many more. They tried to stump me and enjoyed recieving them as much as I had making them.
Hats definitely; they’re easier for me to make
I like hats better. There is so much variety.
Hats, hats and more hats!
Huge fan of hats!!!
I like both, in winter you cant have one without the other. My christmas quickies are a hat, scarves and gloves/mittens, it all goes together when I’m gift giving.
Hats, both to make and to wear. I like to make mittens, but not to wear them so much.
Hats definitely. I look awesome in hats! IF I wear anything on my hands it wouldn’t be mittens but regular gloves because of the ability to do more while protecting your hands.
I like both, but I like hats more.
Hats for sure….making tons of them right now!
Hmmmmm….I love knitting hats but I love wearing mittens….I guess I’ll have to go with hats!
I’m more of a fan of hats. I’ve never been a mitten person. They look cute, and a great concept, just not for me
Hats, but I probably missed the deadline. But HATS it is 🙂
Hats!
darn time difference, still HATS
hat for sure….Love making lots of hats/.
this is so pretty, would love to win it!
oops forgot to answer the question, I’m a fan of both!
BOTH! My son and his dorm-mates really loves hats and finger-less gloves in this c-o-l-d winter Michigan has had!
Thanks.
Hats!!!
Hats! Since I learned the “Magic Loop Method” hats are even more fun, if that’s possible!!!
Hats because there are so many different types!
I have to go with the hats. 🙂
I live about an hour and a half south of the Canadian border… I vote for warm! But, if I have to choose, mittens
I have made more hats but am planning on making mittens for Christmas this year
I love both hats and mittens.
Definitely hats!
I have to say hats, I make them for kids at the Ronald McDonalds house in my hometown.
Very timely… I would make an heirloom throw in memory of my mother-in-law who died 2/4/2013. RIP, Grandma
The year on this should be 2014. It has only been a few days, not a year.
What a neat idea, Barb.
Hats in all shapes and patterns ! Bad hair day fix, fashion statement, warmth for a premature baby, a halo of love for chemotharapy patients…..:)
Hats……. I’m still working on trying to do mittens on a loom 🙂
Hats! Easier to for me to knit!
Hats for the knitting ministry @ my church they always go quickly!!! 🙂
I’m just learning to knit, but I’ve been crocheting earwarmers and made granddaughter fingerless mittens. Will practice knitting with fingerless mittens
Definitely mittens. Gotta keep my hands warm.
Both. I’ve been making hats more but can’t wait to learn to knit mittens
has to be mittens as they keep my hands warm while out walking the dog
I am a huge fan of hats!! I love to make childrens hats that look like animals or the child’s favorite cartoon character!
Definitely hat’s. They are my fave.
Definitely hats!! 😀
Hats first, mittens second. But both are quite easy and nice to make.
hats but no mittens.
I enjoy making both hats & mittens. I made matching sets for my grandchildren and great-grandchildren for Christmas. They vary in age from 2 up to 17, so it was a challenge, but so rewarding to see them playing in the snow wearing their hats & mittens I knitted for them.
I don’t like to wear either. I would prefer to knit hats over mittens, however, I seem to have made many more fingerless mitts than hats, go figure.
I love making hats and mittens. I make them all year long.
I have an awesome hat pattern but my favorite go-to is always fingerless mittens!
That’s a challenging question! I’ve made both, and really enjoy the thrill of seeing the hat or mittens finally take shape! But the frosting on the cake for me is the eternal sublime wonderment of seeing something I’ve made from my own two hands every time I use “IT,” or when I see someone special to me use “IT.” “IT” to me is a pair of mittens; made by me, with some special rows or an unexpected yarn thrown in; making it a truly a one-of-a-kind unique pair of mittens! When I wear a pair of my own one-of-a-kind hand-made mittens, the wonderment is CONSTANTLY with me, every time I look down at my hands. When I wear a hat that I’ve made, I can not see it, and when I get a compliment on it, I have to stop and think about which one I am wearing. For the ENDURING WONDERMENT FACTOR, I have to say I am a fan of MITTENS!
I love both but need mittens to keep my hands warm while shoveling. so mittens wins
Hats! Think I should make one this weekend 🙂
Mitts!!!!
Hats as I make them for cancer patients.
I don’t wear hats (hat hair!) and really don’t need to very much because I live in the south. I’ve been making fingerless mittens like crazy since before Christmas. Everyone loves them because they keep your hands warm but you can still text.
My vote is obviously for mittens then.
love fingerless Mitts, but am learning to thrum mittens for family still stuck up to their eyes in snow.
Definitely mittens right now. I have found that when living up north gloves are useless. I have enough hats, and mittens, I can now start knitting ahead for next year. I want to try double strands of wool to make them real thick. It is really cold here. Thanks for reading. 🙂
Hats!!All kinds of hats!
I have not yet learned how to make mittens, so my favorite is Hats. But I really want to learn how to make mittens, then maybe they would be my favorite.
I am a fan of hats. But, I would love to start on making mittens. Store mittens are so cheap.
Prefer to make hats……….family seems to like gloves better than mittens!
I like making hats, but my hands get cold easily so I wear mittens more often.
Hmm… seeing as the one and only pair of mittens I knitted (if you don’t count the baby mitts) still aren’t done. I would have to say Hats!! 🙂
It would have to be hats. Also scarves because I make them for homeless veterans.
I prefer hats.
I love mittens, gloves, and fingerless mitts, but I look terrible in hats!
Hats!!
Both! You gotta do a set. Each and every hat must have a pair of mittens.
Hats are my favorite
Hats and gloves, but not so much mittens
Gloves…. especially fingerless ones.
Hats. I like making mittens but they don’t get worn as much as hats do.
To wear, mittens! But to knit, hats!!!
Hats are more wonderful then mittens!
I would love to win and learn how to make mittens.
I like hats because they are more fun for me to knit, personally.
Mittens are my choice because they remind me of childhood, snowmen, forts, and skating
I love hats
To make it is hats hands down as they are so easy to make.
To wear Mittens!
I love to make hats, but being a Minnesotan I love to wear both!
At the present I am busy knitting hats.
Hats,definitly
I need mittens or gloves more than hats, but I like hats better for fashion.
Hats, hats and more hats, make them for charity.
Gotta go with hats because they are easier and faster
Hats, for halos of hope, rarely gets that cold here
Hats — I’ve never done mittens.
Hats I think. I’ve never made a pair of mitts. I should change that!!!
I have yet to make mittens, however, have made numerous scarves for family and friends…
hats.
I love to make hats!! Need to get up the courage to try mittens!
I love to wear both. However, when it comes to knitting, I prefer hats. I am much more successful knitting hats. I always seem to put the thumb in the wrong place so that the mitten won’t fit anyone I know – oh bother!
Hats, maybe with matching mittens!
Hats I love to try new ones out.
I’m a fan of both
You can’t go without either in the winterty Wyoming.
Definitely, mittens! 😉
Hats, mittens and scarves are needed to survive this east coast winter. My needles are very busy!
I love hats… I’m learning to make them. I’ve only mad 2 so far but am trying another one. My favorite hat is the slouchy hat.
I love hats but am smitten over mittens 🙂
Have to say a fanatic for HATS!!! So many textures, color combos, styles – hats are amazing!
Hats-love to make them, but never wear them… Don’t like mittens, but love fingerless gloves-something I can wear when sketching in our 6 months of cold weather to keep my hands somewhat unfrozen!
I love hats, you can make so many different designs and styles, you will never get bored of them =)
Hats
I’m a hat person, considering I wear all the hats I make too much!
Love to make and wear hats. Mittens are not my favorite thing to make, but if the need arises, I’m there.
I love hats! They’re fun and fast and so easily customizable! BUT I absolutely love making fingerless gloves now, too. My 4th grader loves them and she’s now the fashion girl in class. So… both, really. Hats were my first love, however.
Hats!
I love hats have them in every color would like wool to make somebforvteo granddaughters and now new born grandso
I haven’t made mittens yet. I do love making hats.
For myself, I am a fan of mittens. I never feel like hats look right on my head. I adore making hats though!
Hats, of course!
Most definitely Hats. I am making a lot of them for this coming christmas presents. They are always used and appreciated by my family and friends.
I am a fan of mittens, especially as a Peace Corps volunteer in Macedonia. I have made scarves and hats for a lot of the volunteers and am now trying to fulfill the mitten requests.
Both… matchng set! 🙂
Hats Because we lose more heat out our head and there faster to make. They can be as simple or wild as we want.
Definitely hats. Although, anything thrummed that is warm and toasty, is a win in my book!! Slippers especially!
I like hats
I would have to say that I’m a hat person!
big fan of both! couldn’t live without either during our long Canadian winters!
hat fan!
Hmmmm – I knit lot of both but as I’m not really a hat person – it will have to be mittens.
I am a fan of both. I knit/crochet lots of both for family and friends. In our house we have more then one set of each.
I have to go with hats!
A fan to wear or make?
Hats are good, and mittens can be good, but they can be limiting.
I would have to say hats. They are easy and very relaxing to make.
Hats…So much variety in style possibilities
Mittens, i hate hat hair!
Hats over mittens. Don’t do mittens as I need to have gloves to see sign language.
The hat is adorable…I love making hats!
both of course!!
More hats than mittens, though I am getting fond of fingerless gloves.
I’m a huge fan of both but probably hats more as it’s been hard for me to knit my own pair of mittens that I really like, it seems store bought ones work better for me. I love hats though, I am a sucker for seeing a hat in a movie or tv show and wanting to whip it up right away, and that I’ve probably done about 5 times lol.
Hats hats hats!
Hats, hats hats!! I love making hats 🙂
both
Love making hats! Especially baby hats. 🙂
Definitely hats 🙂
I am a hat fan
Hats are what I’ve made more of, that and fingerless gloves.
Hats. Hats of all colors and sizes. Especially baby hats, so many cute patterns available.
I knit both for charity and if there was one I would pick it probably would be hats, but I like them both!
I would have to say hats! You can make hats for all seasons, but mittens in the summer?
Hats most definitely
I am going with hats! Too scared to try mittens to get them to match!!
Hats !!!
I’ve never knitted mittens, but I like them more than gloves… but hats. Ohmygoodness, my kids could wear every hat I’ve made all at once if they could!
Love both…!!!
Definitely hats!
Hats most definitely. However once I finish the hat I am currently working on I will be attempting my first set of mittens!!!! Yay
Hats! Mittens confuse me (actually DPN’s confuse me….)
Mittens for sure!
I adore hats. They are so full of personality and the first thing that people see when you are walking around.
Hats! I knit hats all through the year. There is always an organization that needs hats.
I prefer hats both to make and wear. But it seems the majority of people replying say the same.
Mittens all the way!! 🙂
I make lots of hats but have never made mittens. I would love to make a hat that would look good on my curly hair and not flatten it out!
Is this an either/or question? Or a “do you like one or both of these” question. I guess either way, I’d have to say hats. I’ve never made mittens.
I LOVE hats!!! My head is small and the only way to get a cute hat and it fit correctly is to knit it myself!!
Hats are my favorite, especially in the cold.
Hats. 🙂
I prefer hats, but arm warmers/mittens are so much fun to make.
I’m definitely a MUCH bigger fan of hats. When I wear mittens I feel like a small child. Also I like to be able to use my fingers to do things.
I prefer hats, although; I live in the desert so not much need for either hats or mittens! I prefer crocheting hats over mittens.
I’ve never made mittens, but I love the ones a girlfriend knit for me! I’ve knit many hats, though … but never for myself. Hmmm… sounds like a project… a hat & mittens set, with a scarf or cowl… (: sure would be nice with the 17″ of fresh snow we got last night!
Definitely hats! Love all the neat yarns and patterns available for hats!
Definitely hats! Love all the neat yarns and patterns available for hats!
I make hats for others but not for myself. Mittens? I have made them in the past but I am a cowl addict and prefer to make those.
Definitely hats! They are so relaxing to make .
I love hats. I can work them up fast for friends, family and charities!
Hats, hats, hats.
usually just mittens – but this winter it’s all about wearing a hat too!
I love both but prefer hats the most
The colors of hat reflex the personality of the person wearing them. I’ve really enjoyed knitting this winter and the colors made it more exciting. This hat would add to all of this.
I love to wear mittens and love to knit hats
Um…Yes! ?! Probably hats, I usually have one in progress but often make mittens – mitts – gloves too.
Hats it is!
I love making hats for my granddaughter. Haven’t tried mittens for her but will be doing some soon since she gas been asking for them.
I like to knit both hats and two-needle mittens for my grand-children.
Hats! Hats ! Hats! It’s cold here in Michigan. 🙂
Yes love to make them both… have a pair or mittens on my needles right now
I make hats nearly daily for chemo caps and for my grandson with alopecia. I am planning to make my first pair of fair isle mittens when I complete my current project.
Both! I never seem to make matching sets though, I always end up making the hat and then I see a different style of mittens that I like better so I make them instead.
If I were cold and had to choose I would pick mittens first – my hands get so cold. But if I were knitting or crocheting them I would go for hats first.
I like to knit mittens!
I love to make both, but hats are my favorite. Last year everyone in our family got new hats, as well as Santa hats, and 4 dozen for our county-wide Christmas Bureau. I love to make and give away.
I like making both, but mittens are the best. Nothing beats grandkids telling friends that their Nana made them when asked where they got them.
i love makeing hats there super easy and you can use so many different colors.
Hats…standard pattern’s memorized, use up left over yardage of yarn while watching tv. And so many places to donate them.
Love knitting hats and mittens both, but hats are my favorite. They are quick, don’t require a lot of yarn, and make fabulous gifts for old and young!
Totally a hat person all the way
Hats versus mittens — competition worthy of an olympic event !! So hard to predict which accessory will win my heart … Hats keep my head warm and hide my locks on a bad hair day, but mittens keep my fingers cozy. And, since my hands are usually very cold and thus in need of mittens, I am going with … drum roll please … MITTENS !!
Mittens!!! Hats mess up the hair that I spend time on!!!
Hat and scarf
Hats hands down. Love winter hats in all shapes and fashion!
Hats definitely. They are the first thing you see on someone!
Hats are fun to knit, mittens not so much!
Both…I like to make matching sets!
I don’t like to wear hats and have only made 1 for my daughters’ bear. I prefer fingerless gloves to mitts as well. I made a pair for my daughter a while back and am making a pair for myself now. Thank you for the awesome giveaway.
Hats can make so many differant styles!
Mittens! They are fun and a fast project to complete. Besides I am not one for wearing hats.
I love making hats and fingerless gloves for my family.
I am a fan of hats because you can wear them anytime regardless of the weather.
I wear hats (if your head is warm you are warm) and I prefer to knit hats. When my boys were young and now that we have grandchildren here, I need and make more than I can count so they can get a dry pair every time they come inside for a break.
I’m a fan of hats, but hate the “boring” kind. That’s why I absolutely LOVE the giveaway hat! It looks colorful, it has a funky shape, and can add some excitement to an ordinary person walking down the street in a coat. 🙂
Definitely hats! I make hats year round for newborns that are delivered in the OB dept in which I work
Hats win every time 🙂
I Prefer hats! Wearing and knitting!
Definitely mittens, I have thick and curly hair that doesn’t enjoy being squished into hats, so I’ve made only a few hats but TONS of mittens, gloves, fingerless mittens, etc.
I love them both but i seem to make more hats than mittens
I love to make hats due to the wide variety and style of patterns.
Hats!
I knitted 4 baby afghans this winter!
I am a fan of the hat. So many styles and options !!!
Hat, berets, stocking caps! <3
Hats look better on me than mittens 😉
I’ve never made either hats of gloves, and, considering our present weather in the Midwest, both would be in order. If I have to choose one, though, it would be hats, mostly because I have two 15 year old granddaughters who would probably love sporting a funky hat made by ole’ Gramma.
I like knitted hats.
I love making hats! They are so fun and quick.
Why choose. Just grab the hat and the mittens and go.
Love to knit hats and fingerless mitts
Hats, definitely hats!
Hats I have made so many for family members this winter
Hats
A matched set looks great…..go for both!!
Hats especially in chilly New England.
I love knitting hats and having a variety for different occasions like christmas, valentines easter etc. I also like mittens with nice color patterns or cables.
HATS! Love to make em, love to give em, love to wear em!
Hats – Mittens don’t let me use my phone, unless they’re flip top mittens
I’m coming up short in my stash for a new afghan I want to make. Would love to add to the stash and have enough to make it!
Both. Funky hats and fingerless mitts.
I like to knit hats and wear mittens, although I have yet to knit a pair of mittens!
Hats!! More people enjoy receiving them
Hats! Love Hats. I’ve mad about 10 Minion hats this past month. FUN FUN
I knit hats. Haven’t tried mittens, but I might.
I love making hats, and wearing hats and giving hats away!
Hats, because the grandkids are always losing them!
Hats. Definitely hats!
HATS, HATS & HATS!
hats
I like to make hats and do make them often, so guess that mus be my favorite.
I do enjoy knitting (and crocheting) hats.
I prefer to make hats. I never wear mittens (I need my fingers too much) and I only make things that I, myself would wear.
Definitely hats, there are ship many cute patterns to make!
I think all those years of Easter hats turned me against hats, so I wear earmuffs if necessary, but I love mittens…and my newest thing is making ones with roving thrums – a favorite amongst friends and family and certainly welcome with the winter we’ve had this year!
I’m new to knitting. I can’t wait to attempt a hat! I love some of my crochet hats
I like both as I make them for my daughter in law’s first grade class for a Christmas present!
Hats for sure!
Hats!
Hats
I love mittens, convertible gloves, etc. Not a fan of hats, hate having something on my head!
It is hard to choose, so I would have to say both. I really love knitting/crocheting hats and mittens of all kinds. 🙂
I make both but don’t wear either. I have terminal POWER SERGES.
I like to make (knit and crochet) hats for my children 😉
But, because of my health condition I had to choose MITTENS ….
I’m so happy 🙂 , because I’ve already learned how to knit them!… and I’ve just finished the first pair!
I have to admit, it was a lot of fun to made them 😉
Hats. I enjoy knitting them. I give most of them away for charity. It is a good way to use partial skeins, because I hate throwing things away.
I love to knit hats, but am not that big on wearing them. I’ve made a few pair of mittens, but am more likely to wear gloves. I’m looking to make a pair of fingerless mitts sometime soon, as my hands are much too cold lately.
Hats, definitely. There are more opportunities for me to wear a hat than a pair of mittens.
I love making hats for my friends kids and grandkids. The cute animal ones are my favorites!!
It’s hats all the way. Quick and easy.
I love mittens, but hats are my favorite to make.
Hats several grandkids to keep warm
Hat and mitten sets for sure.
I love to knit hats because my adult grandchildren love to get what I knit. They are always asking if I have any hat yarn in ________ color. They need a new hat. Love the grandchildren, love to knit hats for them.
I love mittens
I like making hats an scarfs to match, extra yarn , mittens . Yeah!
I’m a rookie hooker, and a luvva of the hats! (and *fingerless* gloves. Hee!) I’ve not had the privilege of making mittens, so far….
Always hats!
I love to knit hats. Haven’t done many mittens this year. I wear hats and make lots of skull cap type hats for my s.i..l. to keep in his power truck for his guys to wear under their helmets.
I make both mittens and hats for my growing boys every year. They prefer the hats as it does keep their heads and ears so warm. the mittens never last the winter as they play so hard. So hats are what I do best and love it when they like them too
I enjoy making hats and mittens, because when you live where Mother Nature loses her meds and gives you all four seasons in one week, then it is helpful to have both!
Hats, fingerless gloves!
I’d have to say hats as I can’t really knit with mitts on. Yours hopefully.
Hats! Everyone wears them, almost always fit and so much fun to make different styles. Also small enough to carry along for those waits in waiting rooms, lines and between appointments, Also small enough to work on in the summer without being overheated with a big piece on my lap.
Hats, Most of them are quick projects so you don’t get bored.
Ooo. Always mittens. Norwegian fair isle mittens!!
Mittens all the way! Especially fingerless ones. Stay warm and still do everything normally!!
I made a couple scarfs and just finished some finger less mittens.
hats have been awesome in our cold winter this year
I love knitting hats, but haven’t tried mittens yet.
Hats for sure! They are so versatile. You can never have too many and they are fun to create as well. 🙂
I think I would have to do mittens. So much more fun to knit and or crochet.
I’ve made both but I’d have to say heads up to hats!
To wear? MIttens for sure. To make? A hat !
Yesterday, my knit and crochet group gave 500 hats to a missionary friend to take to Northern India. On Facebook, you can see them on ‘Reaching 360″. We made these in 5 1/2 months. It is exciting to be able to do this.
HATS, HATS,HATS! I love to create them and in all sizes!
I have to say hats.
I love hats – all shapes, sizes and critters.
Hats
I love to crochet hats – just wish I could wear them. I think I look silly because most hats are too small for me and I have trouble sizing up the pattern [end up too big]. I love mittens but are afraid to try making them [the thumb hole scares me].
Mittens. My hands are always cold, but I have enough hair to keep my head warm enough
Hats of allkds and shapes for family and friends. some mittens.
Mittens. My hands are always freezing.
I’m a fan of hats, I usually keep my hands in my jacket pocket and that is why I don’t wear mitts
Wow, finally able to say I enjoy making hats because they are more versatile.
I make a lot of hats which I love doing, but I really like doing mittens to. Sometimes it is hard to chose which one to do, so I just do both.
I have a number of things I need to knit or crochet mittens, socks, lace and hats for charity.
Definitely hats, but mittens are a clise second
I like making hats but I’d rather wear mittens.
I love to knit hats. I have also knitted mittens for my daughter, but they are kinda difficult for me, as I am a beginner. I would love to be the winner, thank you !
I would have to say mittens because my hands get colder than my head and I need them more than a hat.
I crochet hats for children and donate them to hospitals homes for children.
I gave never made mittens so I would choose hats but I dont wear either.
Hats…I’m scared to try mittens.
Love warm gloves. Wear hats occasionally but like the band better. Love your product have used it since I was little, was lucky enough to have a grandmother who taught me crochet and then I was self taught knitting. Love to do both.
I am a fan of both, love my mittens more.
I like to do both hat and mittens. Or fingerless mittens to match. Kids hats are great.
I am knitting a pair of mittens right nowI
I prefer to knot mittens but thus year it has been so cold in Newfoundland and Labrador that everybody is wearing hats. SO now I want to knit some cool hats.
I’m not rockin’ the hats, so gloves/mitts/handwarmers … that’s the way I roll.
Both! But if I had to choose: hats!
Both: Hats, make all sizes for all ages. Mittens, made the fingerless with fold over top for daughter for work in snowy Utah. Prize package looks like new techniques which I am always looking for something new to try.
HATS! I have been hat-crazy for the last few months. Really enjoying them. Oh, and fingerless mitts. 🙂
I love hats!!!! And that one is super cute and colorful!!!!
Hats, have to learn how to make mittens on dpns
I am more a fan of hats than mittens. I think they are very useful and make good gifts. Everybody in my part of the country needs hats and a lot of the charities ask for them.
I’m a fan of mittens. Don’t like to wear anything on my head.
Knit hats, especially with circular and dpn. No seam to sew!
Hats keep my ears warm, but I love to knit and felt a great pair of mittens!
Hats of course!
LOVE knitting hats with matching mittens and scarf, also socks are nice in cold weather.
Hats. def hats. Tried making mittens for my daughter. haha. Didn’t turn out so well but they did the job for the day. good Luck everyone.
I’m a big fan of mittens and fingerless gloves but I prefer knitting hats as you only need to do one, hard to say, I guess I like both for different reasons.
I make lots of hats for the family. I think I really enjoy making mittens for my one year old granddaughter.
Definitely hats!
I like to do both. But then I also like to do fingerless gloves and headbands that cover you ears. I guess it just depends on the mood I’m in.
Hats hats hats! I make them for several charities
I like to knit hats! My daughter and I knit quite a few very cute hats while I was going through chemo last year. I used them to keep my head warm and now I’m cancer free!
Hats are simple and relaxing. I would try gloves for a challenge.
Hats and fingerless gloves, and sometimes matching scarves.
hats! 7 grandkids always lose them.. made some theme ones for couple of new babies, that was fun.. never made mittens, everyone wears gloves. I also like to try new stitches when making a small project like a hat.
I prefer hat to mittens for several reasons; I knit to enjoy it and working with dp needles it’s not really fun…whereas…in the case of a hat you can unleash your imagination, making a ridge by knitting from several rows down below, and many other tricks. When it is finished you can have marvels embellishing it!
But, most important, I sometime knit for charity; and many, many people need a simple, warm hat.
Hats in both knit and crochet are my favorite to make!!!!!
Mittens. Because I never wear hats
I love to knit hats. They are quick to knit. You can take a simple hat pattern and make it your own with unique stitches, color patterns, or fancy yarn.
Definitely hats! There’s a great deal more in terms of variety and shape that can be made, whereas a mitten (with the exception of fingerless) is just a mitten.
I love the Mittens while a friend makes hats. We make these for the homeless.
I love making hats! Hats of many different colors to go with my winter outfits, and hats to give away as gifts to special people. Knitting hats with left over yarn is especially fun, you just never know how a hat will turn out until it’s done!
Love hats. Rarely wear mittens…too hard to drive.
Definitely hats!
Hats & Mittens…what’s one without the other? (I.e. peanut butter & jelly, ham & eggs, or even Abbott & Costello…)
Well, I like mittens and hats. Knitting baby hats is my favorite gift to give. I have a very cut pumpkin hat pattern that I knit for every new baby.
I love hats!!
I prefer hats. They can be made for any season and any reason.
I would have to say mittens, my fingers are always cold. F’Glittens are my favorites (fingerless glove mittens).
I’ve never made mittens before, but I’ve made many hats, so hats. 🙂
I would rather make hats than mittens any day!
No hat but love mittens!
I would rather make a hat
I love making hats of all kinds
Oh definitely hats!
To be honest, I’m not a fan of either. Mittens and gloves are things I’ve never attempted to make. I’ve made hats for others, but I don’t care for how hats look on me.
I like mittens
I love hats the most, especially slouch hats. Three years ago at the age of 61 I finally learned to knit mitten when our ladies group “the knifty knitters” decided to knit hats and mittens to put in the Christmas Shoe Boxes that get sent out to needy children at Christmas time. So sometimes it is hard to say just hats.
Hats! They are so cute and comfortable.
Hats, mittens just feel weird to me.
Now that is a tough one! I actually Love to make matching hats and mittens. And best of all my husband who is a wheelchair bound, Disabled Veteran helps to complete the look by weaving a matching scarf! I am a lucky Woman!
Hats are more fun to make! I’ve made many hats. In fact my first knitting project was a hat for my husband!!!
mittens
I really like to make hats
Hats, It’s a fact that you lose most of your body heat through your head and a hat prevents that…(and keeps ears warm) !!!
Since I am a skiier I like hats! They complete the whole ski outfit.
Although I’ve been on a mitten kick this winter, I’m gonna have to go with hats.
Hats. They’re easy to make. I donate them to churches, cancer hospitals and homeless shelters. My son had a brain tumor several years ago and is undergoing testing to see if he has another one. I’ve already made a new hat for him from cammo yarn so he’ll have a special hat from Mom just in case. I decided I’d (if it comes to it) that I’ll ask at the hospital if they want more for other patients.
Mittens are the best. You can see them while wearing them.
Hats. Hats. Hats.
Hats.
Well I guess it depends on how cold it gets – but at some point you will need both. I love to knit both as well.
Hats are my favorite, as I also do them for the Cancer patients in our local Cancer Center. I love them to be nice and soft and warm. The love yarn is the one that I normally look for. Thank you for the opportunity to win!!
I love making hats, right now I am making Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse hats, Easter bunny hats.
I’m a fan of hats but want to make mittens next
hats love them!
Wow- HATS, HATS, HATS, HATS, HATS !!!!!!!
I grew up on a farm before high tech gloves and mittens came about. We had our morning chores and nothing speaks to winter as watering horses and setting down the buckets only to have to leave your hand wear behind because they are frozen solid to the bucket handle. Anyone remember sliding down a HUGE hill and landing in pricker bushes? ….. and the hours it would take to take out all of those little hooks from your knitted mittens and scarfs? Ok- so it would take me longer than it may have taken you as I was terrified of those little balls of terror.
Hats are just fun to knit from the littlest humans to Christmas decorations to friends and family.
I’ve done a lot of hats but I’ve never made mittens. But given the choice, I’d have to say I think I’d have more fun with mittens!
I love to knit hats because they’re so many more possible outcomes when working on them!!
Hats!
I prefer knitting hats, but I don’t like to wear them! Mittens I wear.
Hats hats hats more hats . Gloves are more fun to knit than mittens.
EQUAL!
Hats… made hundreds of them for preemies & homeless shelters. Not coordinated enough to make mittens 🙂
Hats or mittens? Hmmm! Guess it would just depend on what kind of mood I am in!
Definitely have to go with hats, unless finger less gloves are an option. 🙂
Hats – I usually need my hands free and would wear gloves but not mittens. I love the ‘With Love’ yarn by Red Heart.
Hats, hats and more hats!
Hats… lots of hats. Still learning how to do fingers on mittens
Hats. They are just too much fun to make 🙂
I would have to say hats im new to this and am learning everyday but so far hats it is
I always wear a hat… the mittens are optional.
Hats!
I usually make more hats than mittens
Both, they go together!!! Peanut butter and Jelly 🙂
I prefer making hats, especially chemo caps. I make these for an area hospital to give to patients who have lost their hair due to chemo treatment for cancer. I have devised my own pattern which the patients love. They ask for more. It is hard to keep up with the demand. Have made over 100 this past year.
I love to make hats. Especially newborn hats. I have given them to hospital materity units just because I have so many some times.
I love mitts, but if I were to win I’d make hats/mitts till I ran out of yarn..
both hats and mittens! but probably hats more since my boys wear more of them so if I’m knitting for them that’s what it usually is!
Hats. They make wonderful gifts!
Hats! I think they’re easier to make and I usually prefer to wear gloves over mittens…need those fingers! 🙂
I love both!
Definitely hats, hands down.
I love crocheting hats, especially for my great granddaughters. They look so cute in them.
Hats! I love making hats!
Hats – lots more ways to make them special – styles, shapes, sizes. Love crocheting hats!
Hooray for hats!
I’m making a hat right now! so I’m gonna go with HATS!!
I enjoy knitting both hats and mittens as charitable donations for children
and have used Red Heart Love and find it excellent to work with
Hats because they are easier to make and so much fun to make!
Love making hats for all my children and grandchildren! Hats, hats, hats!
I’m a hat lover but am desparately trying to finish my Sochi mittens before the Olympics end.
Mittens. Simply because the Grandkids always need them. Either they are wet or lost.
Hats, for sure. So many choices, styles, colors!! Can’t wait for my next creation.
I say hats!
Hats, hats, hats – crocheted or knitted!!!!!!
I like to knit hats and wear mittens!
Love to knit hats, but I don’t wear either hats or mittens.
Hats hats Hats. Love to make them and love to wear them. The funnier the better for the kids. I have 5 grandkids and one great grand daughter so make lots of hats.
I knit both hats and mittens for my grandchildren but have never knitted any for myself. This summer I will be pleasantly knitting mittens for ME,
Frankly, I like to skirt the whole issue. I make hoods attached to scarves, making the scarf long enough to turn up and make pockets for hands. Everything that pops out of a coat is covered, and no more lost mittens. They’re great hand-outs to the homeless as well.
Hard choice, I would have to say hats!
Hats! Hats! Hats! I LOVE <3 Hats! Hats can help you make an entrance! Everyone sees your Hat! Yay Hats! 🙂 🙂 🙂
I am a huge fan of anything that keeps me and my loved ones and friends warm in lousy weather.
It is hard to choose. If it is cold enough for mittens then you also need a hat. Even though I prefer making hats mittens would be my choice. My fingers get cold fast.
Mittens, for the Mitten Tree at church every December.
I like both hats and mittens. Need both to keep warm in our Iowa winters.
Hats all the way.
Hats!!! Yummu hats!!!
I love to knit them both
I knit for my grandchildren and for food banks that also have clothing
I love hats but it wrecks my hair haha. My favorite is fingerless gloves they are the best invention
ever keeps your hands warm while you can still use your hands. Now if they could just make hats that don’t mess up your hair.
I have done hats on circulars and DPN’s. I haven’t done mittens yet and I would love to make some mittens. They are always cozy.
I love to knit I hate to wear
either
To knit – hats, beanies, tams, any hat.
To wear to keep warm – both hats and mittens.
Yes I am. Like knitting hats more than mittens.
I’d have to go with hats!
Hats!!!
I love to knit or crochet hats!
Hats!! Especially for my nieces and nephews!! Cute on cute…how could I resist?
hats are easier but I am learning to like mittens
I love knitting hats, but I love wearing mittens. 🙂
Love making hats and wearing mittens.
I am a hat making, hat wearing kind of guy.
Hats. I can always stick my hands in my pockets for warmth.
Like mittens, but have been making alot of fingerless mitts lately!
hats 😀
Hats are fun . . . but so are mittens . . . now, if we just had enough snow etc to warrant both!!! 🙂
Lovr hats!
Hats…are so much fun. 🙂
I am a fan of hat when it comes to the making, mittens when it comes to the wearing!
Both! It’s easier for me to make hats, but I’ve been learning to make fingerless mitts, and would really love to make myself mittens as well — they’re so practical in cold winter weather!
Hats for babys /toddlersq
I’m a mittens gal as that was one of the first things I learned to knit!
I love hats, haven’t really tried mittens. Plus everyone is always asking me for hats. 🙂
Hats. Quick to knit and show a lot of personality. Baby hats in wild colors. Floppy hats for the teens and young adults. Function and style!
I love hats and mittens, but don’t wear hats very often.
I love to knit both hats and mittens. Making a matching set for a gift is my idea of a good thing.
I love knitting scarfs, cowls anything that keeps my neck warm doing these long winter days in Oklahoma. Would love to make a scarf, preferably a cowl, a pair of warm mittens and the hat to give to someone who does not have one. I love knitting and giving it as gifts.
I definitely prefer hats.
I love hats most. They are fun and easy to make. Not so many increases or decreases when being knit.
I love to make hats and have been thinking of trying mittens but haven’t been brave enough yet!
I love to knit and crochet hats but love to wear fingerless mittens and a hat!! So both but hats have it.
I like to make both, but I like to wear mittens–I tend to wear hoods rather than hats.
I love to make hats, but I wear mittens!
I Do love to make hats.
I love knitting hats; all kinds of hats! Baby hats, kids hats, guys and gals. I love giving them as gifts.
I love hats – to look at, but dislike wearing them. Moved to the north and started knitting and wearing gloves this year. Loving them – to knit, to look at and to wear.
Hats!
I’m definitely a fan of hats. They keep our heads warm & rescue me on bad hair days (hahaha…). I also love how they complete outfits when coordinated. I am a HATS fan!!!
Hats
Show me a neat knit or crochet pattern and I can’t wait to pick up my needles. Mittens are nice, but I prefer perky hats.
Absolutely!!!! <3
Yes O lot hats and fingerless gloves.but I enjoy making and designing hats better.
I have been on a hat knitting marathon since November. At last count I was at 46. I love hats and even enjoyed designing a few originals.
imade 40 hats this yr, each one was different so were fun to make. no limit to your imagination once get a basic pattern down.
I’ve definitely been on a hat kick lately!
Hats! Mn has been too cold, I wil find the perfect pattern and be happy in my new hat!
I am a fan of hats. However they don’t look good on me. Thanks for the chance to win.
craftymom205 at yahoo dot com
Hats.
definitely hats…love make many differents models for my kids and for friends…make my first for me by me last month
hats
Hats mess up your hair; mittens keep your hands warm. Mittens are my first choice.
Hats, but currently making mittens…adapting two patterns (fingerless gloves/mittens)! Hoping they turn out. Will match a hat and scarf already made. 🙂
hats, hats, hats, hats, hats
I love crocheting and now, more recently, knitting hats! I have never even tried making mittens, but I am always up for a new pattern. I have made quite a few pairs of wrist warmers (gauntlets) and those are great for today’s techies!
I just made my first hat and really enjoyed it, so hats! Plus I’m a gloves person, like my fingers. 🙂
both of them
Mittens
I love making hats! Especially for charities. We have sent them all over the world. Wool ones for the children in Rwanda – so if cooking over fires the hats will not melt.
Hats are my favorite, thanks!
Hats!!
Mittens!!
Hats….love to knit hats for family and friends..great way to try new yarn and patterns.
I’d say mitten since those I haven’t tackled yet mittens. Hats I make all the time.
Hats for sure and I’m excited to start knitting little hats since I’m going to be a FIRST TIME GRANDMA!!!! Hope I win to start with such an awesome blessing!
Hats, although I don’t really like how I look in them, but they keep my head warm!
I can knit either but this year my favorite is a hat. I made one from wool from sheep that I drive by on my way to work. I lost that hat for a while and I searched for it and when I found it I was like a maniac! So happy. It’s blue with pink snowflakes and has earflaps.
Hats and mittens!!
Love both but hats are lots more fun to knit 🙂
Hats, for sure. I have like, sixty-thousand of them.
Hats!
New knitter. This would be a great new project.
I love to knit hats! Still need to learn mittens.
Always mittens! Can’t have cold hands.. then they ache.. but don’t put a hat on my head, I overheat, go figure! I have headbands and *lots* of gloves.
Mitts, especially Newfoundland mitts.
Crochet both hats and mittens!
I love to make mittens but there are so many more hat patterns. About a year ago I was in bed with a leg injury for several weeks and made about a dozen hats. When I was finally able to return to work, I wore all my new hats with pride.
Hats!!
Definitely hats. Can’t drive with mittens on, although, they are fun to knit.
Hats!
I am a fan of both mittens and hats and knit both. I have been making hats and mittens this winter for charity. There are so many cold people out there.
Definitely hats!!!
Hats!! So much variety: babies, toddlers, children, men, women — all different!
Hats over mittens, I don’t like my fingers covered. I like making both though.
Hats.
After making my first pair of mittens, I became hooked!!
I love to wear mittens, but not made any, yet. But, I have made many hats! So, hats it is!
I love knitting hats. I am working on my huge stash. I begin with no pattern just an idea. Hats are easy and you can be creative. Rib knit, rolled brim, cables etc. I’ve made 20 hats so far in 2014 with no two the same. The stash isn’t getting much smaller.
i always love hats. i wear them all year round. I love to make them. I haven’t tried mittens yet. maybe someday soon.
hats! I lose my mittens … so it’s hats for me!
The only right answer is hats with matching mittens!
hats
I love doing unique patterns for hats. Mittens can be fun too. Smittens were fun once I got the hang of the pattern.
I’m going with “HATS!” YOU JUST CAN’T HAVE TOO MANY, THEY ALL MAKE SUCH A STATEMENT ABOUT YOUR PERSONALITY, YOUR MOOD, COLOR,ETC.!
I have the face for hats, so in choosing to be a fan between hats or mittens, I would choose to be the fan of hats. Although I appreciate a nice pair of mittens.
I love hats but I seem to be in the “Permanent Summer of my Life” and I get too hot with hats on. My hands do still get cold so I am happy to work on lovely mittens for me, and make hats for others!!
Since I am currently working on 6 different hats I will have to say hats, although I do like to make mittens also! 🙂
Love the hats! Especially the one pictured. Need to learn how to make mittens next!
I loooove HATS. My brother and I used to collect them. But a big majority of them got lost in a move. So now I have a small collection of them. hmm, maybe i should make some more ;P
If I absolutely had to pick it would be hats – you can always stick your hands in pockets.
For style and versatility, I go with hats. But on a cold New Hampshire winter day a pair of wool mittens can’t be beat.
I would love to make hats for my nieces and nephew.
It’s hats for me!
Love knitting anything! But love knitting hats for kids the most.
Hats!!!!
I have knitted mittens but hats rule!
Prefer hats but matching mittens would be nice too.
I love to knit and wear hats. I just finished making my son-in-law a Viking hat to wear when he walks the dog or snow blows their driveway and several in the neighborhood. . My daughter got a rabbit hat with floppy ears and earflaps to wear. She has them as her facebook picture right now. I have several hats that I wear according to the weather.
Personally, I love hats! I love making them, I love wearing them, I just love them! 🙂
HATS
Hats for Kids!! They love them 🙂

Hats! Because I haven’t learned how to make gloves or mittens yet!
When it comes to making, hats; but I love mittens, especially the convertible kind. Glommits for the win.
I need both. Hats that cover my ears and felted woolen mittens.
I love knitting anything! The quicker projects, like hats, are fun breaks from longer projects. I incorporate both regularly.
Love hats….I have 3 on needles now.
i prefer to make hats.

My yarn group makes hundreds of hats a year. We make them for the school children in our area, the chemo hats for the Oncology Unit at the hospital, newborn hats for the nursery at the hospital and hats for our soldiers overseas. We love all kinds of hat patterns.
Hats!!
While I love mittens, if I’m outside I’m usually driving and mittens just don’t work well for that. So I’m a hat girl!
Hats because when you are finished you are done. You do not have to make another one to match. Yeah.
I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED HATS AND IN COLD WEATHER ONE IS NEEDED ON MY HEAD. IT IS USUALLY A KNIT ONE.
Like to make both, but almost never wear them!
Mittens I guess. Have so much trouble with hat hair and static. Although If I have to shovel snow, out comes mittens and a hat, plus a scarf or cowl.
I have very thick hair so hats really don’t work for me and I am more of a glove kind of girl but I love knitting hats and mittens for others.
I don’t wear hats but love mittens.
