I have a gorgeous but simple hat I designed. I can sit and make one without thinking and it goes fast. Other than that I love to make baby sweaters or things for charity. Right now I am making an alpaca reading shawl for someone on Staten Island that can use it…so right now that is my favorit project. I feel like in some small way I am helping someone feel better…

My favorite project is anything I am knitting or crocheting that doesn’t take to much mental effort! I have to put down and pick up alot since I work full time, so I need it to be an easy flowing project! Right now it’s a baby blanket using the Bavarian stitch that I just learned and love!!!

I discovered the Spider-Man blanket pattern on allfreeknitting and have made it for my four year old grandson. It will be a Christmas gift. He is crazy about superheroes and has several costumes he wears every day. Spider-Man is a favorite. I am guilty of having many unfinished projects, but my excitement over making and giving this one allowed me to complete it in two months. And it was a lot of knitting. I can’t wait!

My favorite project so far is incomplete, I designed a prayer shawl for a dear friend and I am working on it, I am using a faggoting patter with a garter border, in a very soft teal light worsted yarn. The stitch definition is a little blurred because the yarn is soft but it looks so soft and cozy. I now she is going to love it.

CJ and Elizabeth will have something to take with them through their lives and every time they put them up they’ll remember Grandma who made the stockings for them.

A basic top-down raglan sleeve pullover from an OLD (1980s?) Leisure Arts pamphlet. I can use any yarn, make any size from baby up to XXXL (with some minor tweaking for the rate of the raglan increase), add fancy stitch patterns or colorwork, change the collar style — I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve made it over the years. I have one on the needles and four finished and in regular use right now.

I simply love and adore a bunch of the free patterns on AFC, so.. I suppose because I am currently wearing this scarf, it is my favorite pattern at the moment 🙂

My all-time favorite pattern from Allfreeknitting.com has to be the One Hour Scarf. I have made dozens of these for charity and I love that I can whip one up from leftover yarns literally in an hour. I taught my daughter how to make it and she made over 2 dozen last year for Christmas gifts. Great, simple, foolproof – and free! What’s not to like?

Also most is if I am giving it away as a gift.

I especially love making afghans. They don’t have to fit a person. I also like making toys, or special order items that I know will make someone especially happy when I give it to them.

I love mixing things up, so I always have a few things on the go. I do always finish though!! I love doing mitts & scarves so I can watch t.v. at the same time. I do mitts for our local Community Care in the winter, and I love finding out that they are able to help people out and also use money from selling some to help out others. They always sell fast too!!!

My favorite free pattern is Elizabeth Ham’s Drop in the Pond. I make them bigger than normal though, but her pattern is so easy to follow and make your own!

My favorite project is one that challenges me to try new skills. I also love to take a pattern and create a new item by substituting yarns, hook or needle sized to see what I come up with.
