My favorite knitting needles would be anything made with bamboo. I knit extremely tightly and metal and plastic make knitting too difficult for me!
I like the Clover Takumi circular needles. The bamboo is very smooth and the cable is nice and thin yet durable.
My favorite needles are bamboo circular needles.
Harmonys, by far.
My favorite are bamboo circular needles because it makes for smoother knitting (yarn slides off more easily) and the circular needles are so convenient.
Skacel’s “Addi Turbo” nickel-plated circular needles are my favorites. They are extremely smooth and “quick,” with no jog where the cable joins. I love circulars in general because you can do anything with them…straight knitting, large circular, two-needle small circular. With these in my repertoire, I don’t need straight needles or DPNs.
I’m in love with Knit Pick Harmony needles. 🙂 Besides functional.. they’re just so darn pretty!
My favorite knitting needles are the plastic or metal ones…im 70% blind and i find they are easy to use and i like the feel of them and they are cheaper then any other knitting needles and the some with crochet hook…im on disability so i alweys try to find things cheap…but i would love to try others for sure….thankx Beth:)
Chiaogoo Lace points. I have 4 pairs of 42 inch in 3 4 5 and 8 really love them.
My favorite knitting needles are the plastic circular needles. The tips are nice and pointy and good for picking up a variety of yarns more easily. Also, when doing a pattern that calls for a turn, its easier to drop the left needle, put the yarn behind the right needle, turn your work, and start knitting back the other way. 🙂
My favorite needles are bamboo dpn’s
My favorite needles are 2 pair of old aero single points that I found at Salvation Army. They are metal, coated with a grey material and have just the right amount of grip and slip for me.
Adi turbo circular!
I prefer bamboo needles by Takumi/Clover. The bamboo is nicely polished, so the yarn glides easily off the tips without splitting. They’re also “quieter” to knit on…a plus when you’re knitting at night in bed.
I like 2 types. Hiya Hiya and the ChiaGoo circulars. I’m a new knitter and find them easy to handle. I use the ChiaGoo Lace for smaller delicate yarns less than 20″.
my favorite pair of needles are my knit picks harmony wood circular needles, besides being beautiful the cable is super flexible..
I am torn between my Knit Picks Harmony fixed circulars and my Addi Click Interchangeables. I love to have the option between the bamboo and the metal… depending on the yarn I am using. Thank you for a giveaway
I’m new to knitting, so I’ve not tried a lot of different ones, but I love Skacel. Sleek and fast!
My favorite are bamboo….I just like the feel of the wooden needles better than metal or plastic…more earthy I guess…and I usually use circular ones even if not knitting that way….easier for me it seems…ty!
I have used bamboo, aluminum, wood, and plastic needles. I love them all!
I love to use bamboo needles. They are not too slippery, but yet let the yarn move smoothly. The bamboo is sturdy and allows you to feel like you have control. The wood has a classiness that matchess that of the yarn; and it gives me a feeling of luxury and richness.
I like the big chuncky ones. I don’t care what they are made of. The big ones knit up faster so I get more projects done.
I’m a retired senior and can’t afford the bamboo needles which I have tried and love so I only have metal ones. The bamboo are so smooth to work with.
addi turbo circs! for everything, big or small, flat or in the round, they have just the right surface tension for my tension with any yarn.
I got a set of Addi Turbo Clicks for my birthday this year and they have quickly become my favorite! I also got a set of the Addi Bamboo Clicks last Christmas, they are my second favorite!
Clover Takumi Bamboo – dpn’s and circular
I love Knit Picks Harmony wood needles. They are the best and the prettiest to me.
Since I am teaching myself to knit, my favorite knitting needles are the ones I find at garage sales, this way I can learn different tips from knitters with different knitting styles.
I love my Knit Picks interchangeable nickel plated needles. They are so slick and have super pointy tips and really make my knitting fly along!
My grandmother’s family owned a jewelry store. After I learned to knit, my mother gave me a pair of gold-plated knitting needles with my grandmother’s initials engraved on the ends. I love using them, even though the plating is wearing off in places. I feel connected to my distaff side!
My current favorite knitting needle is a KNOOK.
Love it..new and fun
My favorite knitting needles are the good ole Boye. The bigger, the better. For me, I like them because they give me the same, consistent tension throughout the project unlike the bamboo needles.
I like nickel plated needles. I haven’t tried the bamboo yet.
My favorite is a 9 inch circular needle. i knit a lot of preemie hats and find it perfect to use and handy to carry where ever I go.
My favorite needle to use, are usually made from bamboo. They seem to work smoothly with any type of yarn, acrylics and wools alike. Plus they warm up to your hand and fit nicely.
I love working with round needles, either my Denise set or bamboo ones. I use the round ones for straight knitting as well. It is much more comfortable for my shoulders rather than try to keep the needles balanced.
I know this isn’t the type of answer you’re looking for, but I would have to say my favorites are the ones that belonged to my step-grandmother. I don’t knit often, but when she passed away I was given her zippered tapestry needle case along with all her knitting needles inside. Although the needles don’t get much use, because I prefer to crochet, I have fond memories of her every time I look at them.
I like my Denise interchangeables. They cover just about every application of knitting that I do. One day I will try some fancier needles, but just have not done so yet.
my favorite tool is any addi turbo circular lace knitting needles. when i was a new sock knitter i preferred the bamboo circular knitting needles as they provided slower yarn movement which i needed. now that i am well on the way to a faster knitting experience i choose the addi turbo steel ones
My favorite knitting needles would be the Knitpick Harmonies circular set. I also have the Knitpick options circular set. These are the 2 sets I go to the most for knitting. I love the points and cables on both sets. I also love how smooth the wood is on the Harmonies. I have a lot of other brand of needles such Addi Turbo needles, Clover Bamboo, Chia Goo bamboo straights and circulars, Susan Bates aluminum and quick silver straights, and Boye interchangable circular needles.
I’m a novice so I have not tried different types of needles, but I really like the feel of my bamboo needles. So smooth and the yarn doesn’t drag.
I only knit with Addi turbo circulars whether circular knitting or straight.
I’ve been knitting less than a year and I find bamboo circular needles the easiest to use, since they tend to grip the yarn better than metal or plastic. And the other good thing about them is the material is self-sustainable, so I’m also being Green.
Knit Pick Harmony needles, but my favorite accessory are the lace blocking rods I got for Christmas 3 years ago. I block almost everything with them.
I’m still using the plastic knitting needles when I first started knitting many years ago!
I have discovered that i knit to gauge better with bamboo needles
I love the knitpicks interchangeable needles and the varity of the needles my mom gave me. They are from the 60’s or 70’s.
I only use Clover, bamboo needles because they aren’t made in China and bamboo is a sustainable product.
My favorite needles are 9″clover circular needles – they make hats, mittens, sock Sao easy. The only problem is that this size needle is hard to find!
My favorite needles are my Signature circs, size 6. They are a joy to work with (as all the Signature line is) and I use them on a large variety of projects.
I have a pair of size 10 bamboo that were my grandmothers- when I use them its like she is with mw knitting
If Martha S in post 23 contacts me, I have some bamboo needles ,new, that I don’t use. I will send them to you. Contact me @ witatter@yahoo.com
My absolutely, squibbly-wibbly favorite needles are my new Signature Arts needles. I’m knitting toys for charity, and the pattern often calls for knitting through the front and back loop. These needles, with their stiletto, extra-pointy points really dig in there and get the job done easily. Well worth the investment.
I love my Boye needles that are 30yrs old!! They were made in the USA then!!
I love metal needles. I love to hear the clicking as I knit! It’s soothing and let’s me know I’m making progress!!! I do like the feel of bamboo needles also – much easier to knit with the mesh yarns (like sashay) – the stitches don’t slip off as much.
I just recently bought my first Addi Clicks circular needles and love the feel of them! I can knit faster with them. I also love bamboo needles because the yarn “sticks” more and doesn’t slide around too freely.
Until about a year ago, my favorite needles were my Addi Turbo circs. So smooth, so slick! Then I found Kollage square circulars. I can hold them without my hands aching. They’re flexible, so the cord doesn’t have a mind of its own. And, for the first time, I can knit to gauge with the recommended needle size!
I absolutely LOVE my Knitters pride “dreams” straight needle set and my Knit Picks Harmony wood circular set. Both are gifts from the love of my life, and both so beautiful!! Easy to knit with, and i can’t stop looking at them cuz they are so pretty!!!
Hi being new to knitting..haven’t made that many items…what I’ve found for myself is that I really like the circular needles with 24″ and longer strand holders for the stitches because then I can work on my projects without worrrying about the stitches being cramped or my hands hurting as much…Makes knitting a whole lot easier for me…
Addi Turbos, love the fine points and the 40+ inches as I love to use the magic loop method anytime I can.
my favorite knitting needles seem to be wooden ones..i tried to make a set for myself and they broke in half..
I like the plastic or wooden needles as I find them light to use.
My favorite needles are my set of circular needles that have exchangeable metal ends. I can knit most things on them even if the pattern does not call for circular needles and they work better for me than double pointed needles.
