Fix-A-Stitch Hook Set Giveaway

September 22, 2014 by AllFreeKnitting 20 Comments

No matter how talented or meticulous a knitter you may be, every once in awhile everyone makes a mistake. Whether it’s a dropped stitch or a an unraveling end, there’s nothing worse that realizing your beautiful work has been tarnished by a tiny mistake you made several rows ago. While there are plenty of tips and tricks online for mending stockinette stitch fabric (such as this awesome tutorial from last week), items knit using garter stitch are a horse of a different color.

Bonnie Kellog, the inventor of Fix-A-Stitch, shared the same frustration that many knitters feel when making a mistake. Says Bonnie, “I understood what I needed to do to repair my knitted fabric…and I knew what the tool should look like…and I just kept looking for it. Finally I figured out that the only way I would have my magical tool was to make it myself.” And thus the ingenious idea for the Fix-A-Stitch was born!

Fast forward to February of 2011 when the patent pending Fix-A-Stitch was premiered at the STITCHES West. The revolutionary tool resembles a crochet hook, except each end contains a hook. The beauty of this small device is that it allows knitters to easily knit or purl from the front of their work in order to repair a pattern. Not only does it work for the basic garter stitch, it also makes mending other stitches like seed stitch virtually stress-free!

So how exactly does this magical little tool work? See the Fix-A-Stitch in action:

The Fix-A-Stitch is a dream come true for knitters of all skill levels. No matter what your ability, this trusty little tool offers peace of mind and a trusted technique to repair dropped stitches and frogged fabric. The Fix-A-Stitch allows you to knit with confidence and ease.

This would be a wonderful tool. I have repaired a few items with the hooks and needles that I have and it is very slow and time consuming to do. This tool looks like it would make it so much easier to repair an item that has a bad spot in it. I would find it very useful.
