Our friends at AllFreeCrochet are currently giving away a copy of Tunisian Crochet Encore by Sheryl Thies. If you’re already somewhat familiar with how to do Tunisian crochet, then this book is a great reference to learn more and advance your skills.

This 80-page book includes a helpful review of the basics, then offers a variety of patterns that use advanced techniques of Tunisian crochet. You’ll find 16 stylish crochet designs for women’s wearables including scarves, shawls, and vests. As your skills grow, so will your level of confidence and satisfaction with your homemade crochet designs.

There are so many beautiful patterns included in this book, it’s hard to pick a favorite. Each one of these stylish items would be a welcome addition to my spring and summer wardrobe. Ruffled Interlude on page 17 (and also pictured on the cover) is a fun and flirty scarf pattern with lavish ruffles. Hummingbird Rhapsody (pg. 41) is a gorgeous oversized shrug jacket that is not only super stylish, but also really warm.

I use the Tunisian simple stitch for graphed afghans; working the colors in as I go. Would love to learn variations of the Tunisian to expand my skills.

i’ve a pig i know i should finish … cross stitch on a tunisian afghan that i started years ago … i know that my greatgranson would love it [cross stitched whales are done] the kit was a gift, and much appreciated at the time, but … anyway i’ve done other tunisian projects back in the day when it was called afghan stitch. tunisian is softer, more pliable and has a better drape than crocheting and like it for sweaters though i’ve never did colorwork with it.

I’ve used Tunisian crochet a few times and have just ordered some adjustable hooks as I found the afghan hook too unwieldy for me. I also like using an adapted method which I believe I learned from Teresa over at Crochet Geek. Here’s a lapghan I made using this adapted method and a regular hook. I also used the stitch in this winter cap.

Thanks for the chance to win a copy of the book Tunisian Crochet Encore.

    Stay inspired!

I do not know how to do tunisian crochet, but I am always open to learning new stitches or patterns. I have noticed that there are many patterns, books and tutorials on the different website promoting this type of crochet. Thank you for the opportunity to participate in this giveaway.
