Vintage Pixie Crochet Dress
SIZE:
9-12 months
MATERIALS:
- F/5 3.75mm crochet hook
- (3) ⅝” wooden buttons
- DK or Medium (light worsted) Yarn
GAUGE:
4” square = 17 sts X 21 rows
DIRECTIONS:
Torso Band
ch 71
Row 1: sc into the 2nd ch from hook; working into the bottom of sts. sc across row. ch 1, turn. (71)
Row 2-23: sc in blo across row. ch 1, turn. (71)
Row 24: sc in blo across row. ch 1. (71)
Button Holes
Turn piece sideways, and *work 3 sl sts into the side (about 4 rows). ch 4 and attach with a sl sts (about 3 rows from last sl st). Rep from * for two more buttonholes. sl st to end. Turn piece so that it is now upside down with your first ch row on top your last sl st is through the first ch sp. ch 1.
Skirt
Row 1: Sl st into the first and lasts sts at the same time; overlapping to make a continuous round. ch 3. [2 dc, ch 1, dc] in same st (first and last sts at the same time), *skip 2 st, [3 dc, ch 1, dc]; rep from * around. sl st into 3rd ch from first ch 3. ch 3. Do not turn; work in a continuous round.
Row 2-19: [2 dc, ch 1, dc] in the first ch 1 space, *[3 dc, ch 1, dc] in all ch1 spaces; rep from * across row. sl st into 3rd ch from first ch 3. ch 3. Do not turn; work in a continuous round.
Row 20: [2 dc, ch 1, dc] in the first ch 1 space, *[3 dc, ch 1, dc] in all ch1 spaces; rep from * across row. sl st into 3rd ch from first ch 3. Fasten off.
Straps X2
On top of torso band, beginning 4 sts from button opening, work in 6 sts.
Row 1-28: sc in blo across row. ch 1, turn. (6)
Leaving 14 sts for the arm hole attach strap using sl sts. Fasten off.
Repeat (mirroring) for second strap.
Finishing:
Fasten buttons to torso band. Weave all loose ends through piece. Trim.
