September 11, 2013 by AllFreeCrochet 15 Comments

School is back in full swing, so now is the best time of the year to show your school spirit. It can be hard to find the right accessories in just the right color combinations, so why not crochet your own? There are so many basic crochet scarf patterns, crochet hat patterns, and more that will keep you looking. Let there be no mistake who you are supporting this year. When you’re cheering on your team fro the sidelines, there will be no doubt in anyone’s mind which team you are rooting for. Whether or not you go to any sporting events, it’s always fun to show your school pride around town. Plus, the next time your school or office decides to hold a “Spirit Day,” you will be perfectly prepared!

Find a few of our favorite free crochet patterns below that are great for showing your school spirit and team pride!

Team Spirit Crochet Patterns:

Team Logo Scarves: Wrap any one of these free crochet scarf patterns around your neck to show off your team spirit this year. Use yarn that matches your team’s colors, or sew on a specific applique to make sure there is no confusion about who you’re rooting for this year.

Team Spirit Baby Blanket: Whether you have a sports-themed nursery or just want to snuggle your baby with tons of school spirit, this free crochet afghan pattern is easy to work up and will be treasured for years to come.

Team Colors Reversible Baby Hat: Babies might not always get a say in what team they are rooting for, but that’s okay. This free crochet hat pattern will look just darling on little ones. Work up this pattern in time for the fall and winter months so that your baby’s head will stay warm and toasty as your cheer on your alma mater from the stands.  The best thing about this crocheted hat is that it’s reversible!

Golf Course Cap: Make this crocheted hat in any size you need. The free crochet pattern includes directions for both kids and adults. This particular type of hat is especially popular on the golf course, but you can make this stylish hat for any type of sporting event. You could even wear it for everyday use.

Manly Sports Lapghan: This free crochet afghan pattern is easy to crochet because of the basic stripe design. You can make it any size you want, but we personally love the small lapghan size. It’s the perfect size for taking with you when you want to stay cozy at a football games or any other outdoor event.

Sports Pennant Fridgie: Sure, these crochet accessory patterns are fun to wear around town, but don’t forget about DIY home decor! This Sports Pennant Fridgie is ideal for keeping in your kitchen so there’s no confusion about what team your family roots for.
