From Across The Pond: 8 Patterns from the UK

October 6, 2013 by AllFreeCrochetAfghanPatterns 4 Comments

Here at AllFreeCrochetAfghanPatterns, we feature designers from all over the world. Today’s spotlight is on two designers from the UK! Susan Pinner from The 8th Gem and Lucy from Attic 24. As I was browsing through their patterns I discovered that they both love, love, love color! Their patterns make me happy and I hope they make you happy too!

Blueberry Hexagon Motif –  I go blueberry picking every summer and it’s one of my favorite things to do. So when I saw this pattern I just new I had to feature it as a blueberry motif. This crochet pattern also has instruction for making a similar crochet granny square. Join-as-you go with this pattern and you’ll have a crochet throw in no time at all.

Easy Mini Hexi – In just two rounds you’ll be able to crochet this crochet motif with ease. This hexagon crochet pattern could be a great stash-buster project for all those bits of yarn you have laying around. Plus, you can use this pattern to make so many different projects!

Thistle Granny Square – The Thistle Granny Square reminds me of green and purple thistles in a grassy meadow. This granny square starts as a small circle and is then crocheted outwards in-between the “spokes” of the “thistle.” This is a light and airy sort of motif which will help you create a light crochet throw.

Triple Square Granny Square –  This granny square is seriously awesome. First you crochet a square, and then another square, and then another square! This crochet pattern is a nice twist on the traditional granny square and can add a lot of variety to your crochet.

Neat Ripple Afghan – There are plenty of free crochet ripple afghans to choose from, but none quite as colorful and energetic as this one. This ripple crochet pattern is a crochet-favorite and it’s become a go-to pattern for many crocheters.

Summer Garden Granny Squares – With winter approaching, it’s always fun to crochet flowers to bring in some bright and cheery color to your home. With a clear step-by-step photo tutorial, this pattern is easy to follow.

Happy Hexagons Afghan – You can’t help but smile when you see this crochet afghan. The bright colors and simple geometric design is classic and perfect for some many crochet projects.

Granny Stripes Blanket – More and more I see the granny stitch being used in other ways. We love the crochet stripes in the granny square style and the many colors this pattern uses!

Have just started to crochet again after an absence of 40+ years. The new yarns have me a little afraid (only to make a huge mistake) , but really getting into it again.

Thank you for this site and the videos….has helped me to remember how to do it, and also has lifted my morale as I now have a “friend” I can go to when I need the help.

I like your “From Across the Pond” pattern. I started making that pattern with baby yarn. It is turning out great. Thanks for the different pattern to use.
