I have a pretty long commute on my way into the office, and as a result I usually have the chance to see some great wildlife. Most of my drive is through state forest preserve land, so it is not uncommon to see deer, coyotes and huge flocks of geese. But today, sitting in the middle of the road, was a fox. He was just sitting there. At first I thought he was hurt, but after stopping, I realized he was just warming himself on the pavement and staring into the sunshine. I didn’t rush him, letting him sit for a bit. Of course, I held up traffic behind me, but he eventually got up and sauntered into the forest preserve happy as a clam. While he was sitting there, I just admired the color of his fluffy coat and the beautiful markings throughout. Being a crafter, I immediately thought of all the great fox themed designs I have seen over time. So, as soon as I got in I had to collect our very best fox knitting patterns and free fox crochet patterns for you. You are sure to find something here to make for yourself or for someone special who happens to love this bushy-tailed little creature.

Thanks for sharing my fox cosy! And might I add, what a great collection of fox knit/crochet projects you found – that little fox tunic is adorable. I love that the fox was sun bathing, and very nice of you to not rush it 🙂
I’ve seen some animals in the wild and there are so many I’d love to see but I guess right now I’d have to choose a hippo – assuming it’s a safe distance away haha.
I I need to make some mittens 1 for a small man & 1 for a larger handed girl do u have anything like that?
I have never learned to knit, but theres a newborn baby in the family and I can’t help but want to learn! These are the cutest designs and patterns! I especially like the bowl-like knitted hat. Using the hat upside down to hold little baby toys in seems like a cute idea! Great blog post 🙂
This is really cute. I love the hat and scarf combo. I’m going to have to give learning how to crochet a second chance, so one day I can make cool items like these. I would love to see a bear in the wild. I also had an fascination with bears and it will be cool to see one in the wild!
I’d love to see a cougar – had a cat once that strongly resembled one, now every time my daughter or I see a pic of a cougar we think of our beloved Noisy. I’ll make at least one of THESE projects, though, because my previous dog was a red Shiba Inu and looked very much like a fox.
