It has a soft comfy feel to it. I can’t find anything I like as much to replace it with. I love to crochet and I am thinking of trying out one of the Larger size sweater patterns for myself. I am always making things for others.

My favorite sweater was hand-knitted for me by my grandmother. I knit and crochet lovingly in her memory, and I am sure that she watches over me with pride, every single time I pick up a crochet hook or knitting needles. The sweater she made for me was what got me interested in learning the needle crafts, and its very soft and made of several shades of my favorite color, purple.

I love the rainbow of colors available. The garments get even softer with washing. Everyone always thinks my items are very professional looking, and I attribute that to the texture of the yarn. Knitting has been a life-saver for me when my daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer, and I needed something to take my mind to a better place.

My favorite sweater was like a warm hug. When I put it on I feel the love of the person who made it for me. It cheers me up and makes my day brighter. Unfortunately the only person who made me a sweater was my mom when I was about 9 years old. It was blue tweed with a sqare collar in the back. I loved that sweater and wore it till I couldn’t fit into it any more. Then it was passed down to a cousin. Now I am the one most likely to knit or crochet the sweater that is a warm hug.

It was long, warm and comfy. After many, many years I wanted to replace it. Gave it to my appreciative daughter who wanted it not because of it’s characteristics, but because it was what mom wore as she was growing up. Sadly, never got it replaced.

My favorite sweater is so great because I “stole” it from my dad. I have had it for years and years. It’s been to college with me. It’s kept me warm on late nights up feeding my three children. The sleeves have dried many tears while going through a heartbreaking divorce. It’s been washed a million times and it’s starting to fray, but I swear, if I inhale deeply enough I can still smell hints of my dad.

I have had my favorite sweater for about 12 years now. As soon as there is a little chill, it’s the first thing I grab out of my closet. It is big and has the perfect weight to it that feels so good when I wrap it around me. I’ve worn it during both of my pregnancies, when I’m sick, when I’m “stuck” at home during bad weather and crafting or baking/cooking. I would be lost without it now!

I have to say that it was one of the most complicated crocheting projects I had undertaken (at the time and since!), but so very worth. That is one of the warmest and most comfortable sweaters I own. I suppose the fact that I made it myself adds to the comfort I feel.

My favorite sweater has to be made of yarn that is warm during the harsh cold of winter. It also has to look really good so that it does not appear to be homemade. That means I have to do a good job knitting it, or rip it out and start over until it is! The best part is there are so many colors of yarn that I like, I have a hard time choosing, so I end up making MORE than one sweater after shopping for yarn.

My favorite sweater…is my college sweatshirt. I went to school for design and it was my favorite accomplishment. I learned so much and put all of the skills I learned from my grandma to use – sewing, crochet, etc. She has made me want to learn more about crochet with her latest scarves and now that I live near her I really want to have a day of crochet! Winning this we could spend all day learning and finding new ideas to make together! I made my first braided scarf with Red Heart Yarn and LOVE the yarn – I was never a big fan of yarn before because it seemed very boring and plain but Red Heart really unleashes a new area of creativity in me and has brought me and my grandma even closer with our ideas and inspirations from red heart yarn packaging! I would love to have endless spools of yearn at my fingertips to explore this winter – and my daughter is wanting to learn too!

My favorite sweater is an ankle-length, bell-sleeve, hook-closure, pirate ruffled red beauty. The yarn is textured and has areas of shiny/glossy red which really make it stand out. My Dad picked it out for my 23rd birthday two years ago. When I wear it I feel elegant and beautiful, like I’m a leading lady in an old classic film. It’s unique and I never see anyone wearing anything as gorgeous and daring…and I’m glad because makes me stand out. I know I’ll have it forever – I will be the eccentric old red sweater lady in my neighborhood….and I’m just fine with that! I’d love to be able to make my own unique sweaters! Thanks for running this contest!

They all serve their purpose, but the softer the better – I have one cashmere sweater I found at Goodwill – I put it on when it’s particularly chilly in the morning and I have the day off & feel the need for a big hug, because that is pretty much what it feels like. A big plus when you live alone! 😀

I regularly buy lots of it when we were making scarves for Special Olympics. At the library the group that meets weekly need yarn that is used to make charitable gifts for children needing caps and scarves, military care package items, and other donated projects. I cannot live in my house right now because of Hurricane Sandy but I will bring yarn to the Library if I am chosen.

My favorite sweater is one my Mom knitted for me several years ago. I picked out some yarn and she picked out a pattern and found special buttons for it. The sweater took a blue ribbon at the Maryland State Fair about 10 years ago. Now that she has passed away, it’s even more special. Part of her is always in it.

My favorite sweater is the first one I made 45 years ago in junior high school. All the girls wanted me to teach them to knit because of this sweater. It still fits me today at 58 yrs. old. And, of course it was Red Heart yarn. Goes to show how good the quality of Red Heart is to have a garment last 45 yrs. When I put all that work and pride into my sweaters, I want to know it will last.

But I would just LOVE to make a sweater using Red Heart yarns. It is always my yarn of choice whether I’m making Amigurumi, hats, etc. I just finsihed making a Pomp-a-doodle poodle and the Lorax using Red Heart, so much fun to use in my crochet projects. 🙂

Over the last month I have tried the red hearts Boutique Treasures and Magical. The shawl and infinity scarf turned out absolutely beautiful. I will post pics on my page shortly. I knit the Sashay scarves and am ready to challenge myself with making the Allure evening sweater. Lastly, Red Hearts yarn is so easy to work with, the quality is great, and you can find a variety depending on what texture of yarn you are looking for. #I❤️Redheart.

Allfreeknitting and red heart pages have been favs of mine for ages. I am working on my favorite sweater now. It is a bulky cardigan for my husband. I am using red heart shetland chunky that I bought a while ago; double stranded, it will take approximately 50 balls to complete. Back and one and a half fronts are complete. It is taking a bit of work and time as I am creating this from three different patterns i am integrating. It will be nice…he wanted “BROWN” knit into it so I did that right above the back ribbing. Hopefully finished soon.

The moment I put the sweater on I feel relaxed at at peace. I use it mostly when I am not feeling good, or need a good snuggle! It has such a soft feeling that when I put it on it feels like someone is giving a warm loving hug!

I can’t really say I have a favorite–they are all over-sized and cuddly. When one is in the wash or drying, I have more to choose from to stay warm. I have PLENTY of room for MORE. My gramma, bless her, made some for me when I was small and started me making dish rags. When she died, I quit knitting. BUT have taken up knitting and taught myself to crochet. SO many new patterns to try……..WHERE TO START? NEED YARNLOTS OF YARN to try them all! Also have started amigurami..SO FUN

But also Red Heart yarn is what my gramma used. Very nice yarns, 90% of my stash is Red Heart, most of the rest is Lion Brand–Would love to have LOTS more of each. Most of what I make is given away, so could use some for myself!!

My favorite time of the year is when I can bring my sweaters out from hiding. I actually have 2 that I wear. At work my desk is right under the air conditioner and In the summer I get a little to cool. It’s not a heavy sweater like the one I wear in the fall/winter time, it’s light enough to get away with wearing a sweater in the summer but warm enough to chase away the chill.

My favorite sweater is so special because it is the only sweater I have ever made for myself. I am always knitting for others. It’s beautiful, soft and I made it have a hood. The fit is perfect and goes to hip length. The sleeves go just past the palm of my hand and I made an eyelet on each cuff for my thumbs to go through. The cabeling on the front and back is an intricate Irish cable. I love fall weather not only because of the changing of the leaves and the smell of the fireplace in the air, but because I get to wear my favorite sweater!

My favorite sweater is one I knit for my former landlady. She had wanted a sweater like that since she was a young woman but could not find anyone to knit her one. It wasn’t the fact that it helped out with the rent; it was the tears streaming down her face with delight when she first tried it on. She wore it for many years and when i attended her funeral, she was wearing it. Her husband said it was her request to have it go with her. That is why it will always be my favorite sweater-because she loved it so much.

I just started crocheting less than a year ago. With that said, I have yet to make myself clothing. However, it is on my list to do. My current favorite sweater was picked out by my grandfather a few years before he died. It is a super soft and in a fantastic wine color. Love, love, love anything that is red wine colored. I will treasure it always and I think of him every time I wear it. Once the holes start getting too big I was thinking that I could incorporate pieces into a blanket that I am slowly working on. Make it last forever.
