By far the funkiest accessory I own is a vintage pendant watch shaped like a turtle that my mom found for me in an antique store. It hangs from this pimpishly ornate chain and you push on it’s head and the “shell” pops open to reveal the watch face inside. It’s encrusted with (fake, I’m sure) pearls, emeralds and diamonds. I love it!!! 😛

I would love to win a cache of yarn to feed my OCD for knitting & crocheting. I probably knit approximately 5-6 hours a day. It is one of my favorite things to do. It keeps my hands busy and also provides me with gifts for various occasions. My family & friends all love to get hand made gifts.

I am such a yarn addict – I just can’t get enough! It is so much fun to have all this wonderful new yarn to make from new patterns found. I have so much yarn – people at work come to me for yarn and assistance on making things. I love making items for people here at work and give away most of the stuff to people here for their new babies or someone sick in the family. I love to see what each yarn will do!

Hard to say the funkiest, but, I used up part of my stash knitting icords with multiple yarns and lengths. Then attached one end of each strand together, then did the same to the other ends. I crocheted a chain on these two ends and tied them together to wear like a necklace. People always comment on it.

I made an infinity scarf that I call my “hobo cowl” – I alternated black yarn and scraps of gray, blue and off-white yarn, leaving the ends exposed when I changed yarn. I’ve gotten quite a few compliments on it. I thought people would say, “Oh, you need to tuck in that yarn end…” but that hasn’t happened.

I just bought a vintage floral scarf for tying down my hair when riding in a car with the windows down…other than that I’m not sure I have any “funky” accessories. I do have an awesome ruffle-trimmed cotton-cashmere triangular shawl that I crocheted in a beautiful tealish blue—definitely not a typical modern accessory.

It’s huge and encircled with about 10 semi precious stones and rubies with a diamond on the point. My funkiest accessory is a huge chunk of wire wrapped turquoise. It’s a pendant that my dad bought in Arizona in the 1960’s. If a coat counts as an accessory, my light weight winter jacket would qualify: bright white with ‘slashes’ of bright orange, bright pink and bright purple. It’s an Obermeyer ski jacket. I LOVE it! NO ONE can miss seeing me in it! 🙂

The funkiest accessory I own is a scarf I made out of variegated yarn. I crocheted it in the round and there was some fun color pooling that made the colors spiral around it. When I added the second skein the color pooling went down toward the end so that the colors look like they are dripping off of it. When people see it they simply drool!

It’s made out of medal gears with small chains connecting them and I love putting it on my necklace with my small vintage bird cage (with a smaller metal bird inside) because both accessories are important to me.

The gears represent my first anniversary that I celebrated with him (and how we work together so well) and the bird cage represents my hidden personality as well as my own lifestyle of keeping it safe.

It was a bright red apple with a little white worm crawling out of it. I thought it was cute, but it got a lot of “ewwww’s” from others. My funkiest accessory is a pendant my husband had made for me. It is a pair of blue jeans with a ruby at the waistband. The jeans look like they are dancing so people think perhaps I was a dancer but the joke is in the stone and it is all a play on words. My mom’s name is Ruby and I bear her genes. Therefore when I am in a particular frame of mind, my husband rubs the pendant, smiles and says, ” I sure do like your jeans.” It is enough to make me think about what I am saying, pause and then smile back.

Mine would be a pair of small spark plug earrings on wires. They are cute but to heavy that in a short time wearing them it feels like your ear is tearing!

A few years ago, I bought myself a long winter coat. I love it- comes to my feet and is reversable: one side is a satin like finish and the other is a dark brown curly material.i was feeling warm and cozy in it , until my brother said it looked like I had skinned a buffalo for it! I still love it!
