With summer almost here, I find myself craving bold colors now more than ever before! While there are many yarns for sale with spectacular hues, nothing quite compares to dyeing your own yarn and creating a unique skein that’s perfect for all sorts of different projects. While the look of hand painted yarn is definitely pricey to purchase in yarn shops, it’s surprisingly cheap to recreate the same look for yourself, right at home! In today’s special video feature, we’ll take a look at hand dyeing your own yarn to create cool blends of fun summer colors! Check out the free tutorial here and the video tutorial below.
Does this look like a technique you’ll want to try?

I really enjoyed this lesson on dyeing yarn. I have never even thought about doing this….The endless colors and designs are running around in my head..Thank you Trish
Loved it. Will try it!
Wow! That does look like fun, the only yarn I’ve tried to dye was some recycled cotton yarn and it didn’t take well. But it was fun, And I crocheted an ugly dishcloth that I am proud to use anyway.
I’ll try with wool or a wool blend one of these days for some custom sock yarn for me.
Thanks for sharing your process! 🙂
I am excited just looking at the video. Most definitely will try it.
