question about socks, donations for yarn needed.
Would love to learn to crochet socks for my family but am scared to try.Any hints before I start? I can’t hold 5 needles, no do i know about yarn,hooks etc.i am a very slow knitter due to my hands and shoulders.Would love to knit more and learn to tAT, and do hardanger.
I am also a disabled teacher and mostly bed ridden due to a bad T-bone truck accident several years ago.So i joined several veteran volunteer groups/We crochet lapghans,afghans and walker carryalls for the WOUNDED soldiers. I also crochet for a group for disablred adults where my son lives ( he is austistic) the clients call us mom/dad as many have no family to visit.I crochet 35 stockings and 12 afghans for them last year. We try and go every 3 months and bring treats and birthday presents.I am behind this year as I used up most of my yarn so I made hanging dishtowels,cup cuzies, washcloths..For some it was the only gift they got during the holidays.since i do not get out shopping very often(.closest yarn is 45 miles from our rural place.If you have any scraps,leftover yarns(any weight/colors), hard to crochet when it is 105 out, any books or patterns you no longer want (CROCHET/COUNTED CROSS STITCH)I will take all donations.Sorry I wish I could help with postage but am on a very little income.Also enjoy count cross stitch.i am looking for patterns for NFL teams logos/colors ,rooster/chickens, a pattern for SUNFLOWERS by VanGogh (kansas flower) Nordic/scandanavian patterns., Have a new strepgrandson who wants an afghan or toys featuring ninja turtles.Also pen pals (no inmates) 61,love to read historical fiction flower in containers,herbs, Amish lifestyle.,cross stitch samplers.Just learning to do 28-32 ciunt and linen..Love to write letters to visit.I do not get on the copmputer very much.Am saving my bazaar money to hooefully buy a tablet some day.
