Humans That Yarn
The Craft Yarn Council’s fall campaign, Humans That Yarn, is here! CYC will be featuring six unique people throughout the fall who all craft with yarn and whose stories reflect the variety of people who identify as yarnists. They’ll also highlight several other people in the yarn community who have unique stories that anyone can relate to.
The point of the campaign is to spotlight the unique people behind yarn crafts, rather than focus on one specific type of project (like last year’s pompom party). Along with highlighting a variety of people, Humans That Yarn aims to showcase the different types of crafts that can be made with yarn. Don’t miss their latest collection of yarn crafts here.
Plus, check out their campaign video below to learn more about this awesome campaign:
Through social media interviews, videos, photography and blog posts, the campaign will increase interest and conversation about yarn crafts. The term “yarnist” will be introduced alongside the campaign to demonstrate that no matter how you use yarn, you are a “yarnist” (yarn artist).
To celebrate, we teamed up with a few of our favorite crafters to create four original yarn projects that do not require any knitting or crochet experience. Check them out here! You’ll find projects from Tamara Kelly of Moogly, Lynn Lilly of Craft Box Girls, Angie Holden of The Country Chic Cottage, plus a rug hooking project from our friends at Rug Hooking Magazine!
