Hi folks! Jess here, back from AllFreeKidsCrafts, to share some kids’ yarn crafts with you. You may recall my last post, introducing finger knitting and some more basic yarn crafts for kids. This week, I have more exciting kids crafts to share with you.
Kids are great with quick little projects that they can make easily, and they can incorporate those simple creations into more ambitious projects. The kids will love helping you make accents for knit and crochet accessories patterns with these cute yarn crafts.
For example, Poofy Fluffy Pom Poms are very easy for kids to make. Though some people may suggest that these are simply camp crafts for kids, they can be added to scarves, sweaters and more for some fun and easy accent pieces.
Kids can also make these Whimsical Yarn Rosettes, which are great kids yarn crafts that can be incorporated into a myriad of projects. Even young kids can make a whole bouquet of these in no time, and they can be added to necklaces, bracelets, headbands, sweaters, scarves, hats and more for a cute, summer accent that is sure to impress everyone.
Meanwhile, Anne Weil and her crafty kids are at it again with this Jingling Finger Knit Door Drape. Attach bells to strands of expertly finger-knit yarn and attach the whole shebang to your door for a fun curtained passageway. This finger knitting tutorial is particularly perfect for tween and teen girls who want to decorate their own space and want a more complex craft to occupy their time.
I can’t wait to make these crafts with my favorite kiddos. I hope you enjoyed your weekly kids’ yarn craft update!
Do your kids make crafts with yarn? What kinds? I taught some kids who made amazing dolls with yarn hair once.

love to make crafts for my grandchildren, yarn is my favorite material to work with
When I was in high school, we used to make boy/girl pairs of yarn “voodoo” dolls in the school colors of our rivals as a fundraiser for our club. We could get quite a few sets out of two skeins of yarn, sell them for a few dollars per set, and you would see people dangling them from their rear-view mirrors, or marching band members dangling them from their musical instruments!
