Knit Fair Isle Hat Tutorial

February 4, 2016 by Stitch&Unwind 3 Comments

As you know, we here at Stitch and Unwind are crazy about pom poms (we have a whole post about them here!) and the ones in this knitting pattern are out of this world! This Friendly Fair Isle Hat tutorial is an adorable way to put a little pom pom in your life. They’re made with super snuggly yarn and the use of an accent color means you can personalize them according to your style! These knitted hats would make a perfect gift for that friend who loves quirky accessories, but we bet you’ll be working one up for yourself, too!

Can this pattern be modified to knit with straight needles and then sew the seam?

That’s what I’m doing right now. I added one stitch to each side, as they will be enclosed in the seam, and continuing on with the regular pattern.

I am going to knit this pattern using more tradiitonal winter colors for hats. Will have them ready for next winter.
