Have you ever dreamed of diving into a pool filled with spaghetti? I used to have fantasies about swimming through (or more realistically, getting stuck in) Jell-O. What about yarn? It might not be as tasty as those other soft, squishy substances, but it’s definitely less messy.
The crafty knitters over at Jimmy Beans Wool in Reno, Nevada, thought up such a splendid idea. Technically speaking, the pool is a hot tub, but the wonderful feeling of floating on top of pillow-soft fibers is the same. And think of all the things you could make! Cozy knitted sweaters, gorgeous knit scarves, quirky knit accessories…I digress.
Anyway, why a hot tub full of yarn? The owner, Laura Zander, knew that some of her customers had made the journey to her little store from half way across the world. She created the hot tub as a focal point for her fiber-loving friends and a relaxing respite after a long journey. The yarn hot tub is full of different types of yarns and fibers sold by Jimmy Beans Wool, and often filled by enthusiastic knitters and excited crafters.
Jimmy Beans Wool offers a number of different types of yarns, and several of their patterns can be found on our site. Here a few of our favorite easy knitting projects from Jimmy Beans Wool.
Channel your inner fashionista with the Tao Silk and Parisienne Scarf. This intricate, silky scarf is a sophisticated finishing touch for your favorite trendy outfit. Strut down the street in style and hold your head high as you model this gorgeous knit scarf pattern.
Fuzzy, warm, and perfect for layering, the Alpaca Hug Cowl is a great piece for your autumn wardrobe. Autumn weather can be unpredictable, but whether it’s cool and breezy or warm and humid, you’ll be happy to have this light weight cowl.
The only thing better than tiny baby feet are tiny baby socks. Rock’s Socks Knitting Pattern is an adorable knit sock pattern for tiny tots who love being held or little ones who can’t stop moving around. These little knits are sure to put a smile on your face while you knit.
Huck’s Baby Hat Knitting Pattern is one of my favorite baby knits. This sweet little cap is an adorable way to keep your little bundle of joy sleeping soundly because of its cuddly ribbed construction. The cute little cap has a tiny stripe and turns up at the top, giving the illusion of little bear ears.
