Lion Brand Artisan Gift Wrap Giveaway

December 19, 2014 by AllFreeCrochet 245 Comments

Have you ever wanted to make everyone you know a handmade gift?

If so, you know this can be seriously rewarding, and even more time consuming. This year, you’ll be able to at least wrap gifts in warm hand knit and crocheted inspired wrapping paper from Lion Brand Yarns.

Lion Brand Wrapping Paper

You can imagine that these fabulous wrapping papers were a huge hit in the office. We loved that each design was bright, vibrant and realistic looking. It is almost as if the package was wrapped in an actual blanket or sweater!

The quality of the paper is amazing. It’s just the right weight to neatly wrap your gifts without tearing. The only thing we were missing would be grid lines on the back of the paper to make cutting straight lines easier, but because the designs were so great, it wasn’t that important.

There are 6 different designs in the line, and each was taken directly from a featured Lion Brand pattern like the New Slant Afghan shown here.

Once you are done wrapping all your gifts, show your love of all things yarn even further with some wonderful embellishments. We like the idea of assigning a yarn color to each gift recipient and making a pom pom to adorn your packages. How cute!

I’m barely meeting my target but the year is almost up. Yes, I would have loved to have been able to knit someone a hat. Or scarf. Or shawl…

I would LOVE to make a lacy infinity scarf for my daughters, but it would probably do it’s name justice and go on for infinity due to my lack of finishing skills. I’m also a master of making “snakes that swallow basketballs” scarves. I have tension issues. Still, nevertheless, I am utterly obsessed with crochet. I will get to where I do it well, but it sure is fun along the way. Merry Christmas all!

It would be fun to have a group of people join me. This would be a good way to use up bits of yarn and by using the granny square it could be taken with you everywhere to work on, I.e., doctor appointments, waiting on car repairs, etc. What a great feeling to be able to help others

When I was in end-stage heart failure in 2009, I had a PICC (Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter) that was placed in a vein in my upper-right arm to deliver a 24/7 medication to my heart. The generic mesh hospital-issued arm bands used to cover and stabilize the I.V. entry sight looked so plain and clinical, so I would wear jackets and long sleeves to cover it (NOTE: springtime and summertime in Texas can be quite warm, if not hot). A dear friend of mine found a pattern for knitted and crocheted PICC arm bands, and when I was about to begin making them, I received my transplant and no longer needed a PICC. I subsequently planned to knit & crochet decorative PICC arm bands/covers with different yarns, different stitch patterns, colors, etc. and donate them to local transplant centers for patients with PICCs, but never got around to doing it. This contest has given me an incentive (5 years later!) to follow through with my plan to knit/crochet arm bands/covers, which would be a small but hopefully appreciated gift to PICC patients. I could even make little gift pouches with the wrapping paper! 🙂

I’ve always wanted to make a tablecloth using the 100+ balls of colored thread that I have. I also have always wanted to make a snowflake tablecloth with multiple sizes of flakes using thread also.

I’d love to make a christening gown for a baby, but my arthritis just won’t let me work with thread. Although I have seen some beautiful patterns for baby yarn, so there is always hope!

    Thank you!

I once found a Troll pattern and created three dimensional Crocheted Trolls for all my nieces and nephews. My wife crocheted them scarves which matched the hair on each troll. Now many of them have children of their own, and we’d love to create a whole new batch…now to find the time….
