Luxury Spa Wrap Crochet Pattern by Haute Kippy

February 26, 2021 by Bethany Sypolt

Hey there! I’m Bethany from Haute Kippy here again to share a new crochet pattern with you. In my debut guest post, I offered a pattern for one of my favorite accessories—boot cuffs. If you missed that post, they’re called the “Sweet Scallops” Boot Cuffs.

This pattern is going to give you a quick and easy stitch fix. It’s time to take a break from that WIP and treat yourself to a little something. We’re making a luxurious spa-quality head wrap.

I’ve been wanting to make myself a head wrap for quite some time now. However, I didn’t want it to be made of just any scratchy old yarn. I wanted it to be soft, supple, warm and cozy.

Enter: Bernat Blanket yarn. Have you guys tried this stuff? It’s like heaven in a skein! So soft and so smooth. I just can’t get enough. I love the way it feels, and I love the way it looks. It’s almost like a cross between terry and microfiber. It really does feel like crocheting with a strand of the world’s softest blanket. The perfect yarn to make ourselves a fabulous treat. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at how quickly this headwrap works up—it’s only four rows wide. Make as many as you can and give them with bath products as gifts. Just be sure to keep one for yourself!

Let’s get started!

This headwrap is going to work up in mere minutes. The blanket yarn is 6- Super Bulk weight and we’ll need a large L/8mm hook. The design features horizontal ribbing achieved by crocheting into the third loop of half double crochet stitches. As opposed to the “v” on top of a stitch, the third loop is the horizontal bar located on the post of the stitch towards the top, directly below the “v.” There are third loops on both the right and wrong sides of the hdc stitch. Work in the third loop of whichever side of the stitch is facing, as instructed. We finish with a double button closure since there’ll be no need for buttonholes, as the space between stitches will be quite sufficient.  If you don’t know how to FHDC (foundation half double crochet), head on over to YouTube to watch some tutorials and learn this valuable skill. You’ll be glad you did!
