Today we’re meeting one of my favorite designers featured on AllFreeKnitting, Mary Keenan! Mary is a writer who shouldn’t be nearly so interested in knitting (and sewing and baking and sleep) as she is, and compensates by telling a story with each of her designs.
She especially enjoys hats because like socks they offer a blank canvas, and unlike socks you only have to make one.

Reversible Milkshake Scarf – Follow these scarf knitting instructions to create a classic lace scarf with a reversible design. The Reversible Milkshake Scarf features two buttons sewn to the front and back of the scarf which will fit into any of the holes created by the lace design. Wear this scarf wrapped tightly around your neck to keep you warm or wear it loosely for a more relaxed fit. This scarf can be made with straight or circular knitting needles.
Rowan Silk Cloche – Indulge yourself this winter and use free knitting patterns for hat to make yourself a knit cloche. This Rowan Silk Cloche can be knit in a day and will keep your head toasty all season long. You will need both straight and double pointed knitting needles for this project as well as a button for embellishing.
