Happy Sunday crocheters! It’s time to meet one of our lovely designers, Alli Hyer! She’s a full-time mom of two little girls and full-time awesome crocheter! She has been crocheting since college, and like many of us crocheters, crocheting became a sort of escape. We’ve all been there – crocheting is like therapy for the busy mind in this busy world.
Alli focuses on designing simple patterns for useful things. Her favorite creations are the ones she makes for her girls. Alli started her blog, Alli Crafts, to share her creations and designs. She also writes for an online magazine, Thrifty Times, about strategies for saving money in the mommy phase of life. You can learn more about Alli and see her list of projects in her designer profile.
Alli’s patterns are so cute, it was hard to pick a couple favorites! See more of Alli’s patterns on AllFreeCrochet!
Purple and Gray Ear-flap Hat – I can’t get over how adorable this hat is and how cute this picture is! (Alli also enjoys photography!) The pattern is made for babies nine to 12 months, but provides instructions for other sizes as well. The pom pom is the finishing touch and the combination of purple and gray is just perfect. The ear-flaps will keep little ones’ ears warm all winter long unlike some other hats without ear-flaps.
Tulip like Flower Applique – I can think of so many great uses for this little flower! It’s an easy pattern that’s definitely different from a typical flower crochet pattern. I love that it’s a side view of a tulip and that it has a leaf. This is the perfect accent to a scarf, hat, purse…the list goes on!
