Today we’re meeting one of the newest featured designers on AllFreeKnitting, Carol Sunday! Carol began designing knitwear as soon as her mother put a pair of needles into her little hands. Throughout her studies in engineering and medicine and her career as an artist, knitting was always the thing. In 2008 she started Sunday Knits, her own line of classic luxury yarns, together with Carol Sunday designs, where she combines her passions for pattern, engineering, fashion and art.
What I love most about Carol’s designs is there understated beauty. Each one combines simple and classic elements that result in a timeless piece of work that people of all ages can wear and enjoy!

Tomato Palindrome Scarf – Consisting of only one row of repeated knitting, this scarf uses wide ribs in the center, and narrow ribs along the edges to create a sophisticated look without any cables or lace.
Rainbow Afternoon Shawl – Lovely enough for a movie star, this light as air striped shawl is knit from bottom to top in a drop-stitch garter pattern with a gathered peplum and shawl collar. Make your own shawl with or without a knit-in fringe. You’ll love making this knitted shawl pattern for yourself and all your closest girlfriends.
Allegras Scarf – Made up mostly of the basic stockinette stitch, this timeless pattern features wide, alternating cables. The final result creates a scarf with tiny puckers, similar to the high fashion scarves found in the store. Get this popular look for much less by making your own unique accessory.
