Meet the Designer: Esther Leavitt

September 2, 2012 by AllFreeCrochetAfghanPatterns 6 Comments

Happy Sunday! Today we’d like you to meet crafty designer Esther Leavitt. By day she is a content editor for Craftwown.com and freelances. The rest of her time is spent being a mom and crafting (crocheting, knitting, sewing, and decorating). She keeps track of her designs, crafts experiences, and favorite sites and projects on her blog called Crafts By Starlight.

Esther has a number of crochet patterns featured on AllFreeCrochetAfghanPatterns that you should definitely check out. See the on-going list, and read more about her on her Designer Profile page.

Esther’s Patterns

Crochet Popcorn Baby Blanket
The contrast of bold and light colors will draw the attention of anyone. But it’s the popcorn stitch that will really make a baby love this blanket. The fun texture will provide them with hours of comfy snuggling.

Diamonds in Pink
This crochet afghan is a combination of simple and detailed work. Change the colors of the squares to match the color palette of your child’s room.

Spring Time Granny
Add a little spring to your home whether it’s actually spring or the deep cold winter. This Spring Time Granny afghan will brighten your life with it’s pastel colors and sweet flowers.

Which one of these three patterns is your favorite? They’re all comprised of squares, but they are so wonderfully different from each other.

Hi Esther! I am attempting to knit the Scarbon hat/scarf you wonderfully created. I need some help with your directions. Row 3: C6F, Inc, zk4, zInc, K12, Inc, K4, Inc, C6F
I am unclear about your definition of the Inc (I realize this is an increase). Where does this Inc refer to? In my knitting experience, there is usually like a Inc5 and then a comma. My understanding of this is each time there is a comma, something different is happening.

I would GREATLY appreciate it if you could help me with this so I can make this BEAUTIFUL hat/scarf.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Thank you,

    Helen Sunderman
