April was a fun month! Our friends at The Crochet Crowd hosted a mystery crochet along where crocheters didn’t know exactly what they were making. For some crocheters, they were anxious to move through the clues, and guessing continued for four weeks.
The most stunning array of completed crochet giraffes were received after all the clues were given out. In fact, this was the highest number of entries for any crochet challenge for The Crochet Crowd. A whopping 1351 giraffes were entered.
Diva Dan and Michael Sellick were exceptionally impressed that many people decided (even after all the clues were given) not to follow the typical colours of a giraffe. Many crocheters hooked up giraffes for kids, charity, and just because they were excited about the concept. You cannot help but fall in love with the poses and expressions of the giraffes.
Like all of their crochet challenges, a random generator was used to pick a winner. It’s anyone’s opportunity to win. We would like to congratulate Donna Kust of Chesapeake Virginia for being selected to win the fully loaded Red Heart Yarn Bag with Crochet Crowd Gifts.
Thanks to everyone for your enthusiasm and excitement for the giraffes.
We know that not everyone wasn’t able to finish. Even though the challenge is done, The Crochet Crowd will still accept giraffes to their gallery.
