Happy Monday everyone! It’s the first full week of November which means we turned our clocks back. Did anyone show up to work early today? I sure feel quite refreshed with that extra hour of sleep. Of course it still makes me feel a bit off but I’ll get used to it, just like we do every year. This is November’s very first Readers En-Gauge question, too! Last week we asked you, “What was your very first crochet or knitting project?” As usual, we received plenty of fabulous answers. I failed to answer that question last week so here’s my answer: My very first crochet project was a very crappy looking scarf. I had no idea what I was doing, but hey, you gotta start out somewhere, right? My first knitting project was a little blanket for my dolls. My Grandma taught me when I was very little. To this day, I prefer crochet over knitting; it’s much easier and you can finish a project a lot faster. I personally think a hook is more fun to work with over two needles, and with the holidays coming up my hook is getting used a lot.
Scarves, cowls, leg warmers and anything else I can think of is going to get made for gifts this year. I know it’s been done before, but you can never have too many of these items. Using different colored yarns and patterns I can create a completely different look for each item. I might even make another crochet afghan for myself. When the cold season hits I absolutely love working with soft bulky yarn! Projects work up so quickly and then I can bundle up with my little love muffin; she’s such a little peanut. Okay, okay, enough about me. Let’s help each other out here.
I’m sure there are plenty of you who are going to be crocheting or knitting holidays gifts for your loved ones. With Christmas being under two months away are you starting to panic yet? What kinds of gifts are you working up and do you really have the time?
This week, we want to know:
