I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! I know I did. It’s always great to get together with family and great food. We had 20 pounds of mashed potatoes and we didn’t even get through the first 10, go figure. There were also some really great Black Friday deals over the weekend, but I chose to stay in and crochet gifts instead. Today however, is Cyber Monday. The deals keep on coming! It’s always awesome to get great deals on the things we need or love; I would just love to get awesome deals on crochet supplies. Last week’s question was What’s the Strangest project you’ve made? Today’s question is two part:
Are you participating in Cyber Monday? If so, are you buying any knit or crochet supplies for yourself or others?
Let us know below in the comments. I expect most of you will buy supplies for yourself. Tomorrow I’ll pick a winner and you’ll be featured on the blog as the winner!

I’m skipping cyber Monday this year because I don’t have the finances to take advantage. If I could I would buy some patterns and yarn.
I am buying a starter/beginning set of supplies for my grand-daughter. She’s seen me make scarves, hats, ect and when she was younger, she’d help me pick out colors from my scrap bag of yarn, so now that she’s 8, I think it’s time I pass on some of my knowledge to her, while I still know it to pass on…lol. Thank you so much for sharing all the beautiful patterns. It keeps my creative juices flowing.
I’m not actively shopping for anything. But if anything catches my eye I may buy it. Have all the supplies I need for the time being.
I purchased yarn during the Black Friday sale to make a sweater for myself. I am always giving everything away. So after my last gift for the holiday season is finished I will have the yarn to make my sweater. So I am not buying anything on Cyber Monday because I already busted the Yarn budget.
I didn’t do Black Friday in the stores. I did mine on -line. I’ve been asked to make some baby blankets for a hospital so I’ll be going out today to get some yarn. I have been looking on-line for a gift for my husband. I did order me some shoes.
I’m not doing cyber Monday as it’s before payday, but if I did I’d be buying baby yarn and also thread
I have already spent all I can on crochet patterns/yarn until after the New Year, when I will start on blankets, booties, etc. for my twin grandchildren due in the spring. If I were to make any purchases on Cyber Monday, it would be crochet patterns and yarns for Newborns and Infants. Unfortunately, I do not knit.
Yes – buying myself another set of blocking wires.
I LOVE to make things for my family ,I just finnished some headband ear warmers for my grandkids and I’m working on a full size afghan for my grandson for his new bed.I learned to crochet when I was 10 yrs old, and I carry a needle in my purse and car, I never know when I’ll see new yarn.
I’m always shopping for new supplies. I’m on the lookout today for some soft chunky yarn to make a shrug for the new pattern I just found.
Haven’t had a chance to check any cyber sales out…….I watch 4 of my grandkids during the day and they keep me jumping……guess that helps keep my wallet fuller but if I have a chance, I will see what is still available when I get home tonight. A true crafter can never have too many supplies on hand so yes, I will check out those too, when I can devote my full attention on the offers.
The only place I went to do some black Friday shopping was at Michaels. I stocked up on some yarn. They had it on sale for 75 cents a skein. I can never have to much yarn. I have so many projects to crochet and knit.
I have already placed my Cyber Monday order…yarn for an afghan for my granddaughter. Also ordered in some miscellaneous yarns for a few little projects. Gotta love sales with free shipping.
No, I bought my supply during Small Business Saturday.
So Monday is a WORK day with some luscious ribbon yarn.
So wish I had the money to take advantage of cyber monday specials…who couldn’t always use more yarn!
If I buy more I think my husband will ask me to move out. I am crocheting, however so that when i make a dent in my stash I can start buying again.
The only place I will be shopping for yarn is in the closet of my craft room. I have tooooooooo much stash!
I make anything in crochet or knit to donate to our Community Pregnancy Center so I always am looking for yarn sales. Now we are expecting our first Great Grand Daughter and I am working on as many things for her that I can. There again yarn is always what I am looking for.
Not shopping online, no money…did shop Black Friday for some yarn for my most weird project; a beard hat.
I have several things that I’m working on for Christmas. I can’t buy anymore supplies until I use up what I have.
I’m not buying anything this year just working on projects, and looking for different free patterns online.
I’m not doing any buying myself but I’m offering my book, Crochet Saved My Life, at a 30% off discount for people who are doing some shopping today.
Yes, buy yarn to donate to church for baby blanket mission.
I did buy a birthday present today from Amazon. No crafty things for me right now…lol…I spent too much in the past few days getting scrapbooking stuff. I do need to finish a few crochet projects in the making too.
I’m retired and although it’s difficult sometimes when you’re on a fixed income, I had to buy yarn today. My grandchildren wanted afghans and hats and scarves. Can’t say no to that.
I don’t think I’m buying anything today. I need a plan first (or at least a general idea) of what I’m giving everyone – and I haven’t sat down to figure that out yet.
I will not be participating in cyber Monday and if I did I would buy a circular needle case for my interchangable needles that I had my eye on for a while now.
I didn’t ‘cyber’ it today…instead I went to Michaels and picked up supplies for making scarves for xmas presents for my family and for making a blanket for nephews 1st bday next week…..
Don’t have time for cyber money. I’m a nursing student so money is tight. If I happen to see any yarn on sale or get an e-mail for coupon codes (that are awesome) MAYbe but probably not.
i am not participating in the cyber shopping … am working to reduce my stash. an euphemism for low finances!
I just found my missing hooks and needles, gone for 3 months. They were right where I left them, in the back seat of the car.
I still have a little time to make things for Christmas.
i did partake in cyber-monday and bought myself some knitting and crochet goodies.. that i can put under the tree. lol shh dont tell my hubby. hee hee
I didn’t participate in Cyber Monday but did just receive my yarn & supplies from a great Veterans day sale (already 1/3 of the way through them though)
I skipped Black Friday and am skipping Cyber Monday as well. All gifts this year are being made by me.
I’m skipping Cyber Monday – I really like to feel my yarns before buying them and when I want craft supplies I usually check eBay first!
Unfortunately I am unable to participate in Cyber Monday as I am unemployed and don’t qualify for unemployment so finances are nil for Christmas.
I’m crocheting and waiting for yarn to come in that I ordered last week. It was on sale with free shipping.
I bought a set of looms and yarn for someone special this year:)
I took advantage of Craftsy’s sale – 19.99 for all their classes! 😀
I’m buying stitch markers for my son’s fiancé’s Christmas stocking since she just started knitting again and needs some. Maybe getting her a few other knitting notions and myself too. Can’t resist those cute animal measuring tapes. Even my 21/2 year old grandson loves the robot one and I let him knit a stitch or two, of course with my guidance.
I am skipping cyber Monday shopping I don’t have alot of monet to spend. I did however get my yarn shopping done early so I could get my gifts made in time.
I am buying for both my daughter and I. Need Yarn, ALWAYS need yarn! I plan on getting my daughter more needles as she is progressing rapidly on her skills. She passed me long ago! Her NaNa would be so proud of her!
Just as in some of the other comments. I have not participated in any black friday or cyber monday shopping. I did purchase some yarn and needles the previous week and I have most of my Christmas gifts done or purchased. Need to work on reducing my stash of yarn I inherited when my mother in law passed away. It may not be good yarn but it will make some great gifts for giving away or donating to charity. Happy Holidays!!
Not this year, unless I remember something I just HAVE to stop and pick up on my way home. I want to feel it before I crochet it.
Not a cyber Monday kind of gal. But got some deals on yarn for charity work I do, on Black Friday! Time to get the needles going!!
Shop local and use less gas.
I had to shop for some brown worsted weight and some pink sock yarn. Thought I had some in my stash but no such luck! Hope the shipping is speedy as my needles are warmed up and ready to fly.
Two Christmas gifts depend on these!
Yes, I just purchased washi tape from my favorite company. This was the only cyber purchase I made.
I hate crowds and I would rather pay a little bit more for the yarn that I love then be jostled.
I am not participating in Cyber Monday. I bought yarn from my local yarn shop on Small Business Saturday. 🙂
I didn’t hit the stores, don’t care for that anymore…not when you can stay home where it’s warm and shop online for the few things I will buy.
I just ordered a pattern book but my other cyber Monday shopping was for holiday gifts for my grandkids.
I passed today on the sales. Had surgery instead!! BC
I have a lot of nieces and nephews to knit for.
I purchased some red heart sashay yarn (at a great price) to make scarves for Christmas gifts.
I participated in Cyber Monday. I bought gifts for everyone on my list except my mom and my granddaughter. I have a sweater on the needles for my granddaughter, and a pair of socks to make for my mom. I need to use some of the lovely yarns I’ve accumulated rather than buy more.
Cyber monday was my birthday so I went shopping for myself, but couldn’t resist looking at yarn while I was there…lol
I did not buy any yarn on monday. BUT, I really have an urge to buy some of the Redheart Boutique “magical” yarn . I have an upcoming show this saturday, so I will be busy getting all of my things together. Would LOVE to try this yarn.
Didn’t buy anything on Monday. Going to town today to look for some yarn, I need to finish a project for Christmas. I like to try new yarns to see how they make up.
