I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! I know I did. It’s always great to get together with family and great food. We had 20 pounds of mashed potatoes and we didn’t even get through the first 10, go figure. There were also some really great Black Friday deals over the weekend, but I chose to stay in and crochet gifts instead. Today however, is Cyber Monday. The deals keep on coming! It’s always awesome to get great deals on the things we need or love; I would just love to get awesome deals on crochet supplies. Last week’s question was What’s the Strangest project you’ve made? Today’s question is two part:

Are you participating in Cyber Monday? If so, are you buying any knit or crochet supplies for yourself or others?

Let us know below in the comments. I expect most of you will buy supplies for yourself. Tomorrow I’ll pick a winner and you’ll be featured on the blog as the winner!

  • Contest open to US and Canada residents 18+
  • One comment/entry per person.
  • Contest closes November 26, 2012 at 11:59p CST.
  • Please answer the question in the comments below in order to be entered.

I’m skipping cyber Monday this year because I don’t have the finances to take advantage. If I could I would buy some patterns and yarn.

I am buying a starter/beginning set of supplies for my grand-daughter. She’s seen me make scarves, hats, ect and when she was younger, she’d help me pick out colors from my scrap bag of yarn, so now that she’s 8, I think it’s time I pass on some of my knowledge to her, while I still know it to pass on…lol. Thank you so much for sharing all the beautiful patterns. It keeps my creative juices flowing.

I purchased yarn during the Black Friday sale to make a sweater for myself. I am always giving everything away. So after my last gift for the holiday season is finished I will have the yarn to make my sweater. So I am not buying anything on Cyber Monday because I already busted the Yarn budget.

I didn’t do Black Friday in the stores. I did mine on -line. I’ve been asked to make some baby blankets for a hospital so I’ll be going out today to get some yarn. I have been looking on-line for a gift for my husband. I did order me some shoes.

I have already spent all I can on crochet patterns/yarn until after the New Year, when I will start on blankets, booties, etc. for my twin grandchildren due in the spring. If I were to make any purchases on Cyber Monday, it would be crochet patterns and yarns for Newborns and Infants. Unfortunately, I do not knit.

I LOVE to make things for my family ,I just finnished some headband ear warmers for my grandkids and I’m working on a full size afghan for my grandson for his new bed.I learned to crochet when I was 10 yrs old, and I carry a needle in my purse and car, I never know when I’ll see new yarn.

Haven’t had a chance to check any cyber sales out…….I watch 4 of my grandkids during the day and they keep me jumping……guess that helps keep my wallet fuller but if I have a chance, I will see what is still available when I get home tonight. A true crafter can never have too many supplies on hand so yes, I will check out those too, when I can devote my full attention on the offers.

The only place I went to do some black Friday shopping was at Michaels. I stocked up on some yarn. They had it on sale for 75 cents a skein. I can never have to much yarn. I have so many projects to crochet and knit.

I’m buying stitch markers for my son’s fiancé’s Christmas stocking since she just started knitting again and needs some. Maybe getting her a few other knitting notions and myself too. Can’t resist those cute animal measuring tapes. Even my 21/2 year old grandson loves the robot one and I let him knit a stitch or two, of course with my guidance.

Just as in some of the other comments. I have not participated in any black friday or cyber monday shopping. I did purchase some yarn and needles the previous week and I have most of my Christmas gifts done or purchased. Need to work on reducing my stash of yarn I inherited when my mother in law passed away. It may not be good yarn but it will make some great gifts for giving away or donating to charity. Happy Holidays!!
