Paton’s Silk Bamboo – a great soft yarn that’s also affordable.
I Love It Yarn at Hobby Lobby used for baby afghans; makes a soft afghan.
Favorite is Red Heart…doesn’t shrink, doesn’t stretch and doesn’t pill. Great yarn.
I really like Caron Simply Soft Eco yarn. I like the fact that it is made of recycled water bottles. It makes a wonderfully soft scarf, and is soft enough for a baby blanket.
I LOVE Hobby Lobby’s yarn… their cotton is amazing!! Their colors are very unique.
I like Caron simply soft. It is affordable and soft! And I can use it for pretty much anything! The only drawback is the lack of color availability locally!
Carons. Simply soft love to make baby blankets with it
Depends on what I’m making, who it’s for and what I can find with enough dye lots (when they have dye lots)…what I have the most of is Red Heart and use it for most every thing. I do, however, do use other yarns as well…I’ve liked everything I’ve used. Right now for the baby sweaters I’m doing I’m LOVING Bernat Baby Jacquards…turns out sweet looking little sweaters…
Red Heart is my favorite yarn it is very good quality yarn and I like it to make hat’s.
I really love the Red Heart Curly Q yarns because of the stretch . It makes hats that are easy to put on but at the same time hug your head to keep out the cold. The yarn also has nice texture and beautiful color variations.
Homespun is my favorite for Prayer Shawls.
I use red heart a lot for crocheting and i’ve recently begun using starbella yarn to make scarves.
Bernat Baby Jacquards for youngsters, Red heart WoolEase for older children and adults.
Red Heart and Bernat worsted weights are my usual for scarves and children’s sweaters and of course the dragon hat I just finished last night for my great nephew. I use a wide variety though depending on the task at hand.
Red Heart, I do a lot of afghans -easy to travel with and that yarn works up well, and cleans up too – my guys have dragged a well-loved afghan to the garage to lay on while under the cars.
I have only been crocheting a short while so I don’t really have a favorite yet. Caron Simply Soft is nice but I have a problem with it splitting. Red Heart is not as soft but works up nicely. I have heard a lot about bamboo yarns and want to try those. Thanks for the giveaway and I love reading everyone’s answers to the questions.
It is so hard to pick, because there is so many different great yarns. I use Red Heart a lot, you can knit and crochet so many different things with Red Heart. I love the new Loops & Threads Flamenco yarn, I use it to make some pretty scarves.
I use “I Love This Yarn” acrylic by Hobby Lobby a lot to knit afghan squares for charity blankets.
Caron Simply Soft by far for afghans…Sooo soft; like being wrapped in a hug! If I want a 3-weight for baby afghans, I use RedHeart Baby TLC…soft and shimmery.
Caron Yarn, it is so soft. I enjoy making hat, scarf and fingerless mitts with it. They feel so warm and snuggly. 🙂
It depends on the project, the yarn that I use the most is from red heart.
Caron’s Simply Soft
Red heart seems to be the one I use most. It has great colors and texture. It’s so soft and easy to work with.
Red Heart Boutique Midnight yarn for scaves. So pretty, colorful and soft!
I love Caron yarn. So soft. Great to make afghans to cuddle up and watch TV. My Boxer loves to snuggle under a nice, soft afghan to sleep at night.
I love all yarn! From Bedspread, cotton, 3 ply, 4 ply, and chunky!! I love making bedspreads, afghans, potholders, animals, and other things too!! If I had to pick one it would be Peaches and Cream it makes the best dishrags and towels and pot holders around and I can but it in the large cones.
Thank you.
guess I’d go with Carron Simply Soft….works for many things….lots of good colors too….!
Red Heart yarn. It is so versatile and wears so well. I love to make toys and dolls. Red Heart stands up to any loving abuse that kids can put the toy through. My baby granddaughter is now playing with a doll that I made her mother about 20 years ago. A little worse for wear but still hanging in there!
I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby is my favorite, too. It’s fairly cheap for the amount of yarn you get, and it’s pretty soft. Great for afghans!
I am currently in love with Lily Sugar’n Cream Cotton yarn, but I think only because I am making my nieces some bath sets for Christmas! I will be expanding my usage of this yarn in the future, it’s very easy to work with.
Love trying different yarns for look and texture. When I make my baby blankets bernat, caron bliss and pattons be mine are my favorite because they are so soft.
I love to use Red Heart yarn; seems to be a universal fit for just about everything. I also use a lot of Aunt Lydia’s crochet thread.
Red Heart is nice and easy. I also like Vanna’s Choice from Lion Brand. But lately I’ve been hooked on James C Brett Marble CHunky. The colors are fabulous and yarn is so soft & easy.
If I have to choose just one it would have to be Caron’s Simply Soft.
Caron yarns
For readily-available yarn, I like Vanna’s Choice. It’s soft, comes in lots of colors and seems to wear well. For more specialty yarn, I recently received a skein of Lorna’s Laces and am using to make a pair of socks. I love it – it’s got such interesting color variations.
windy valley musk ox yarn, qivuit, is my very favorite, for scarves and shawls and their sock blend is to die for! i’ve enjoyed working my way through a wide variety of different yarns and blends over the last few years, but always come back to qiviut!
Red Heart … it’s an allaround good yarn for making hats and scarves.
I’ve been working with Caron Simply Soft. It’s so soft and easy to work with. I am making amigurumi toys.
I just discovered Red Heart With Love! It very soft, doesn’t see to stretch out a lot; great for pillows. I’m going to make an afghan with it to compliment the pillow I’m making. But I agree with others; it’s hard to pick just one yarn because it depends on what I’m making and who it’s for. Debbie Norville is al very good!
I love Bernat Worsted Weight.
I love Angel Hair yarn…usually combined with a Wool Ease yarn to make the scarf extra soft. JoAnn Fabrics has all of my yarn needs.
There are so many that I love: Vickie Howell’s Sheepish, Caron Simply Soft; I love them all…But my favorite is Deborah Norville’s Sock Yarn. It is so soft, easy to work with and the results are pheonominal. I highly recommend it for socks.
Red Heart yarn
I spend most of my time making baby blankets for charity, so I am always on the lookout for inexpensive, soft acrylic yarns, preferably chunky so I can work up the blankets quickly! I have two favorite yarns for this reason; one is Deborah Norville’s Serenity, which is soft, chunky, and comes in wonderful variegated colorways, and always seems to be on sale online, and Caron’s Simply Soft, which I triple up and use with a size S hook. Lots of colors, on sale frequently, and lots of yardage. Takes 7 balls of Serenity, or 6 of Simply Soft to make a decent sized baby blanket. I can usually get them done for under $20 each, so I think that’s a reasonable investment.
My go-to yarn is Cascade 220 Superwash, a lovely Peruvian Highland wool. It comes in solids and paints, feels great, and is washable.
I meant to add that I’ve made several Baby Surprise jackets. It’s worsted weight, so it’s versatile.
Red Heart. Many colors, won’t pill, have use Red Heart for Aghans, slippers, coasters, ornaments, etc.
I use a lot of the Caron simply soft and Lion pound of love.
I love to use red heart. and it’s even better when it isn’t expensive.
i like to use red heart or caron yarn
its good for hats and afghans
