Every two weeks, AllFreeCrochetAfghanPatterns has a brand-new giveaway for you. This week we have something really nifty. Darn Good Yarn is a wonderful company that gets it’s products from women in Nepal and India. This provides women from poor areas with much needed job opportunities. You can learn more about the company by visiting the it’s profile.
The yarn we chose to give away is from the Lux Adventure Collection. It’s Recycled Silk Yarn made from saris. Silky and smooth, you’ll love working with this colorful and unique yarn. Check out the review for this yarn, and be sure to enter the giveaway before it ends on July 10!!
What other recycled materials have you seen yarn made out of?

I love to crochet.. winning something free would be great! Thanks
I love to crochet with all kinds of different yarns! It just changes things up.
Not commercial knitting yarn, but have seen it made from recycled plastic grocery bags (not spun).
I have made and crocheted with plastic grocery bag yarn. I’ve also seen yarn made from strips of old t-shirts, though I have not tried it myself yet.
I have never knit or crocheted with silk.
I love to crochet and knit, but I find the recycled silk rather heavy. I am knitting a scarf right now but might rip it out to make a pocket book. It is abolutely beautiful.
