Red Heart Dream Yarn Giveaway

April 8, 2015 by Stitch&Unwind 171 Comments

Our friends at AllFreeCrochet and Red Heart Yarn have teamed up and have put together a fabulous giveaway that I couldn’t help but share with you.  The Red Heart Dream Yarn Prize Package includes 15+ balls of Red Heart yarn, knitting needles, crochet hooks, and a Red Heart tote bag… everything you need to make your favorite crochet and knit patterns.

red-heart-dream

I’ve put together a quick collection of some of my favorite free knits and crochet patterns that feature these yarns.

Red Heart Yarn Swanky Free Crochet Patterns:

A classic worsted weight yarn with just a bit of sparkle. Each skein features oval shaped sequins that have been dyed to match the color of the yarn.

  • Swanky Crochet Kaftan Red Heart Yarns
  • Single Skein Swanky Scarf
  • Soft Swanky Cowl
  • Glitter Goddess Shawl Red Heart

Red Heart Yarn Reflective Free Crochet Patterns:

A bulky weight acrylic yarn that has been plied with a nylon light reflecting thread. The reflective thread makes this yarn perfect for projects where you want to increase your outdoor visibility.

  • Reflective Bike Helmet Cover
  • Reflective Ear Warmer
  • Radiantly Reflective Crochet Headband
  • Reflective Color Block Cowl
  • Runners Reflective Headband
  • Reflective Cowl and Beanie Set

Red Heart Yarn Grande Free Cowl Crochet and Knitting Patterns:

The perfect yarn choice for your big, cozy crochet patterns. This super bulky yarn works up quickly; you can grab one skein of this yarn and work up a cowl in just a few hours or less.

  • Chic Classic Chunky Cowl
  • Two Hour Princess Scarf

Red Heart Boutique Twilight Yarn Free Crochet Cowl Pattern:

A super soft bulky yarn featuring a hint of sparkly metallic. It works up super fast and is great for both knit and crochet scarf patterns.
London Fog Knit Cowl

London-Fog-Knit-Cowl_Large400_ID-889511

Red Heart Yarn Medley:

The variegated color of this particular 2 ply bulky yarn creates a beautiful, multicolored crochet design without any effort on your part.
Seriously Amazing Crochet Cowl

Red Heart Cordial:

Cordial is actually a braided cord that is very similar to macrame. It’s the ideal yarn choice for crochet jewelry, but it also works really well for bag patterns, too. I’ve added a little video down I filmed giving a quick review of this yarn, it’s really a great project yarn and I had fun with it.

I think I would implement it in various ways, you know… some for crochet and knitting a bit for jewelry making even weaving. I’d spread it around and really experiment with it because thats what a stash like this is for,
playing with and getting to know the medium well so you can decide on spacific applications of future purchases of the yarn.

I like to knit and crochet for charity. I love baby items because they stitch up really fast and, I get a feeling of completion. Flowers are a great addition to the hats and booties. I’m always doing needlework. I have about 20 WIP’s. There’s always something in my house indicating that-even in my car. I would be devastated if there were a burglary and my yarn was taken! I think about it every day, this is my therapy.

I have spent my own money to buy more knitting needles for the children. They so enjoy showing off their projects as well as the socializing.

We have long, cold winters in MI and I don’t do the outdoor sports. So at night I crochet for family, friends, and homeless family’s , hats, leg & hand warmers, scarfs, and more. This is done with my cat laying at my feet trying so hard not to play with the ball of yarn. If I’m one of the lucky ones to win the yarn. It will be put to good use.

I would continue to crochet gifts for family and friends. I am hoping to give every family member a crocheted gift before I lose my sight. I made 27 projects over last year for Christmas gifts. For my birthday I was given a large magnifier on a stand to set next to my chair and now I can continue to crochet longer. I’m so thrilled and this yarn would give me many more gifts to make. I have extended cousins and great nieces and nephews I might never meet, but I can leave them something they will know me by. Red Heart yarn has so many choices in texture and cost and even size (no tying lots of knots when you get the large size). I have made everything from washcloths to comforters to pillows and even cell phone covers. I never stop learning new patterns from the internet and this yarn has so many different textures – what fun!

I would make what ever I could from the lessons of my get together coucelling group and than decide whom would use it the most and give it away. My first project was knitting socks because since the passing of my mother in 2013 I always wanted to learn how to knit socks and I achieved that goal through my councilling which helped me to survive. Now I just want to learn new small projects to keep my mind busy.
