Snow Covered Angels: Winter Baby Knits

September 17, 2013 by AllFreeKnitting Leave a Comment

There’s something special about knitting for babies. It might be their chubby cheeks, or their petal soft skin. It might be their tiny fingers and toes or their adorable bald heads. Whatever it is, those sweet little angels make every stitch worthwhile. This winter, keep baby warm with these adorable easy knitting patterns. Sweet knit hats, teeny tiny sweaters, precious booties, and cozy little mitts are a joy to make while snuggled up on the couch with a warm fire blazing and a good movie playing in the background.

These charming cold weather knits are the perfect winter past time and knit gift for the little bundle of joy in your life, because everyone knows the only thing cuter than a baby is a baby in a tiny baby clothes.

Baby knit hats remind me of little sewing thimbles. They protect that tiny round head from the softest scratch and keep baby warm until she grows a little hair. The Baby Jester Hat and the Bunny Hugs Hat are two adorable hat patterns that have just as much personality as the little one crawling around on the floor.

Knit Baby Sweaters

Cozy Baby Cardigan

My favorite part about baby sweaters is that they are hardly bigger than doll clothes. These miniature tops are a festive article of clothing as well as a winter staple. The Cozy Baby Cardigan and the Tiny Truck Baby Sweater are both adorable knitted sweaters perfect for lulling baby to sleep in her crib or cradled safely in your arms.

Make way for the little one learning to walk! Tiny booties are my favorite baby knit – I even kept my own from when I was young. These little shoes are so adorable because they are small enough to hold in the palm of your hand. Both the Basic Baby Shower Booties and Baby Moccasins are charming patterns and are sure to become a little keepsake for years to come.

Knit Mittens and Gloves

Nubby Newborn Mitts

When they’re not busy exploring through touch and feel, those delicate little fingers need a little hand-stitched love. These mini mitts are a joy to knit as well as slide on baby’s tiny hands. The Nubby Newborn Mitts and the Garter Stitch Striped Baby Mitts are perfect winter accessories for you little angel’s first winter.

Make your knitting special this winter with these sweet little baby knits. Whether or not there is a little one in your life, there are always tiny hands to warm and little heads to cover.

What is your favorite baby knit?
