It’s the first day of march and even though there is about 7 inches of snow outside, I’m hoping spring will make its appearance soon. In the meantime, we should all get a head start on crocheting some lighter and more springy crochet patterns.
My favorite flower is the Gerber Daisy, but there are so many flowers and they are all wonderful. I love when nature inspires art and flowers have a tendency to pop up in our crochet. Am I right?
Here is our collection of 15 Spring Flower Crochet Squares. There are three different kinds of flower crochet patterns: pink flowers, lacy flowers, and 3D flowers. I’ll give you a sneak peak of one pattern from each section, but be sure to check out the full list of patterns!
Wildflower Square – This wild square starts from a crocheted flower that can be used as an applique for other projects. Turn the applique into crochet granny squares to make a wildflower afghan. This written pattern also has two video tutorials to help you along. I recommend changing up the color scheme as you go to try different versions of wildflowers. This is quite a versatile pattern with a lot of options for every crocheter.
Starburst Flower Square – Stars align with this flowery afghan square because it features a unique looking star design in the center. This flower crochet square bursts into life when you crochet with bright colors. The intricate square border adds nice contrast to the circular center. Blue flowers are not too typical either so this square offers a nice change from the typical pink or purple flower.
Framing A Flower Square – I love the look of this square. It’s simple and white which will make an afghan match any home decor. Sometimes we just need clean and simple crochet patterns to keep life calm. 3D flower crochet squares create wonderfully textured pieces that will make people reach out to admire your work. Babies especially love playing with textured crocheted blankets.
