Remember when we first told you that Red Heart had partnered up with the Red Cross for their #StitchAHug campaign? If you weren’t already excited, things just got a little more awesome.
For a quick recap, Red Heart and the Red Cross are working to aid disaster relief in North America by collecting donations, both monetary and yarn-etary. You can donate at the Red Heart/Red Cross website here, or make one of the knit or crochet blankets found here and donate it to your local branch of the Red Cross! Pretty fun, right? It’s an easy way to make a difference doing something you love.
But if making a difference alone isn’t enough, now there’s even more of an incentive to join the movement – when you donate $10 or more, Red Heart gives you access to two EXCLUSIVE free patterns! Check out this video for more information.
New patterns will be available after three months, so it’s a good incentive to donate again – you can collect all of these exclusive patterns, available only to those who donate to the cause! There are both knit and crochet versions available for each pattern, so you don’t need to worry about being left out. Help those in need and score some seriously cute knitting and crochet patterns while you’re at it. It doesn’t get much better than that!
And as I mentioned, if you can’t contribute a monetary donation you can work up one of these knit or crochet afghans to donate, as well. They’re worked up in large squares so they’re SUPER quick and easy – even a total beginner can do it! If you need to find your local chapter of the Red Cross to donate it to, click here and find it on their website.
What’s your favorite charity to donate to?
- Your Perfect Plaid: 8 Crochet Afghan Patterns - January 23, 2021
- You Knit That with What? + 9 Free Patterns - January 20, 2021
- The Cutest Kitchen: 12 Kitchen Crochet Patterns - January 19, 2021
I made 2 different donations by going through Redheart’s website but I still don’t have access to the exclusive pattern. How can I download them? I received an email that my donation was received but there wasn’t any info about the pattern.
Hi there! Unfortunately you’ll have to contact Red Heart regarding this issue, as we aren’t actually affiliated with this charity. I hope it all gets worked out for you!
