I’m always inspired by the patterns that come from the designers at Pickles, the Norwegian yarn company. Luckily, their patterns are translated into English so others can partake in their creative and colorful projects! While searching for the perfect sweater pattern on AllFreeKnitting, I realized that I was being drawn to a their classic designs. Every gal needs that one simple sweater in their wardrobe. It’s the go-to sweater for all occasions–work and play. You know you look good in it. And it always keeps you warm. Here are few of the free Pickles sweater patterns that are certain to always be in style!
Betty Sweater– Inspired by Betty’s style on the popular show Mad Men, the Betty Sweater is simple and cute. Any color you work this sweater in will give you a top that definitely has some character.
Jackie O Tee– Who can resist a little Jackie O style? This vintage inspired pattern was originally worked by the designer in Angora yarn. This type of yarn is super soft and gives the finished piece a light haze. It’s the perfect sweater when you want to dress up a bit but keep it simple.
Light Sweater– Depending on what yarn you choose for this sweater, it can be light and just the right weight to still keep you warm. I imagine with some thicker yarn, you could also have a toasty sweater to curl up in for cold winter days.
Are you drawn to vintage or modern styles? What’s the appeal?
