Do YOU know when Sweetest Day is this year? It’s next Saturday! And that means you should probably do something to celebrate.
Although this holiday was created to promote the consumption of candy, it is now celebrated by many as a day to be thankful for friends and family and all they do for us. And that’s something to celebrate for sure. Ladies, it’s times for you to show appreciate for the “sweetie” in your life!
So, before you run off to the store for a greeting card, think about making something from the heart – a crocheted afghan! Too late to make one and you’re running out of time? All you have to do is make a crochet throw pattern. These smaller blankets are quick to make. It’s one of the best gifts you can make while still using your crochet abilities to create something.
I always fear that my crafty projects are too “girly” to give away as presents. I’m not too sure my dad would really need my handmade votive candle holder. Sure, he’d appreciate my work, and compliment me…but he doesn’t really need it. I propose you make something for Sweetest Day, that your grandpa, dad, spouse, or boyfriend actually need. I think they need a handmade blanket made by YOU.
It’s easy, really. All you have to do is try one of our free manly man afghan patterns – there are plenty to choose from. And truly, if you want a different style afghan, switch up the color of the yarn. That simple.
6 Hours or Less Throw – No excuse this time folks, because you can totally crochet this blanket by next Saturday – I dare you! Just crochet for an hour a day and you’ll be done in a week.
