ILikeKnitting – Tees and Scarves!

The August issue of ILikeKnitting has so much to offer. Just because the end of summer is near doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t enjoy the best of what the season offers. From a summer backyard BBQ that goes on into the a cool night by the bonfire, or a day at the beach, you’re sure to find a project here that will keep your spirits up for the last of the summer days.

When it comes to knit top patterns, one of our favorites this season has to be the Boardwalk Tee. This summer tee offers a colorblock detail in a fun casual style. While it may be casual, you won’t feel out of place wearing this sweet top out to a summer daytime date or out for a stroll along the shore. You can make this top in any number of playful colors, and chances are you’ll want to make more than one!

Light as a feather, the Harbor Scarf is the perfect accessory to knit up and have tied to your purse as you head out for the day. After all, you never know when you’ll encounter a summer breeze or a chilly air conditioned diner. Wrapped around the shoulders, this lightweight wool scarf makes a great little shrug over the top of a dress – and you can make it in any color your heart desires!

Finally, if you’re on the go for the rest of the summer, an on-the-go project is great to have on hand. These Citrus Twists Dishcloths are the perfect thing! Not only will you have an easily portable project that you can work on in the car, or while watching the kids play in the sprinkler, you’ll have lovely dishcloths that are sure to brighten your kitchen decor. Dishcloths are the perfect place to practice a new stitch technique and use up those scraps of yarn that are sitting around. Make these sweet dishcloths as a gift, in fact, we like to work up dishcloths year ‘round, because you never know when you’ll need a last minute gift for a friend, family member or co-worker.
